Taupo Thermal Motel & Spa

This destination offers a wonderful experience for a peaceful vacation, truly a hidden gem in Taupo. Carol is very friendly and pleasant. The excellent services contribute to a warm and welcoming experience for customers. The rooms are generously sized and offer a beautiful view of the lake. The shower provides good water pressure, and the bed is very comfortable. The thermal spa facilities are exceptional. They are meticulously clean and well-maintained, providing a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Guests have the option to choose from various spa temperatures. This establishment is exclusively for adults. I particularly appreciate the thoughtful signage throughout the spa area, which gently encourages guests to maintain a quiet environment, allowing one to fully appreciate the sounds of nature, such as the wind or birdsong, while soaking. It's an ideal setting to unwind and rejuvenate. The amenities are excellent and hygienic, including complimentary lockers and slippers, as well as convenient changing rooms for guests. A significant advantage is that the spa is accessible to adults who are not staying at the motel, at a reasonable cost. This truly is a hidden gem in Taupo.

This motel is a perfect base for exploring Taupo. Its greatest advantage is the location; it's only a 5-minute to the stunning Taupo Lake. Our room was excellent, featuring a private spa which was so relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We also tried the public spa area, which was lovely with its variety of water temperatures. What made our stay even better were the little things: the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our room was impeccably clean and tidy. We will definitely be back!

I can't recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrive, I can tell how much care goes into maintaining the facilities. The thermal pools were so clean and pristine, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. I came in with some seriously painful legs after a long hike, and I was amazed by the relief I felt. Thank you!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way up north. It was really clean, very comfortable bed, extra pillows in the cupboard if needed & really nice soft towels. The shower head is adjustable which is great when you're 6ft & it has great water pressure. The geothermal hot tub was amazing with a really cute area that you can use in all weather. I really appreciated that they give you extra towels for using in the spa. It might sound strange but it was great to have so many socket options for charging devices. You don't have to go hunting for them or move bed side cabinets to access. The location is great, a short drive to town and you can have food delivered if you don't want to go out. There are outdoor pools at different temps that you can use if you like. There's a nice big viewing deck with seats that's looks over the lake. The lake itself is an easy 2 minute walk to where you can put your feet into the sand & feel the hot water at the edge of the lake. The people we met that work there are lovely and we would recommend staying there. We'd definitely stay again.

Such a beatiful place. 5 pools. Even a cold one. Such a friendly owner. Free lockers and slippers. Love the tasteful decor. Far better than the one we attended in Rotorua. Not commercialized. I especially liked the beatiful tile work. Easy Walk here from town

Definitely worth your money especially with the mineral spa pool definitely get that room, staff are amazing caring, kind and very helpful if you need any directions. The room is cute and romantic. Great view as well of the lake when you open your door.

Fantastic stay at Taupo thermal motel & spa. Such a lovely welcome by Carol who is very friendly and kind. The room was excellent - very spacious with lovely balcony overlooking the lake. Kitchen had everything we needed. All very clean and tidy. Location was ideal for access to the lake and only a 15/20min walk into town. |Motel offers 4 x outdoor thermal pools which range from 21 degrees to 42 degrees. We LOVED using all of these every afternoon for an hour or so. Beautiful setting outside and kept very lovely. |We would definitely stay here again and would recommend!

Very impressed with this motel. You get your own private thermal hot spring bath. Very relaxing. Reception staff friendly, rooms are clean, and there are good amenities. You are a stone's throw from Lake Taupo.
