Tavern Bonaca

If you are staying in Old Town, do yourself a favor and Uber out to this place! From start to finish, it was a remarkable dining experience, our top meal in Dubrovnik. The restaurant is the definition of attention to detail. Our waiter was absolutely delightful, very attentive, gave excellent recommendations, and stayed at our table chatting with us well after the meal was over. He recommended an excellent wine that paired well with the meal. We started with the Captain’s Platter- smoked tuna and swordfish (who knew I needed smoked swordfish in my life?) with reduced balsamic vinegar and cherry tomatoes. For our main course, we ordered the Bonoca fish plate for two. A large bowl of mussels on the side accompanied the giant platter filled with seafood (a whole grilled sea bass, two pieces of swordfish, a whole sea bream, prawns, scallops, calamari, and octopus). Everything was delicious. It was topped off with a gratis digestif. We met the owner after the meal, and he was just as charming as our waiter. Do not miss this one!

Wow. Words cant describe how amazing the food is at Tavern Bonaca. The best and freshest seafood in whole of Croatia. We ate squid, octopus and seafood risotto. Everything was scrumptious. And ended the day with the delicious chocolate cake. Everyone who loves seafood must eat at Tavern Bonaca and they will never forget such amazing food experience .

We have eaten in a lot of restaurants all over Europe and this is one of the best that we will never ever forget for the excellent experience. This restaurant is also quite popular with the locals. Food is so fresh and the service is top notch. You can tell that the food was cooked with passion and there is a soul in the taste of the food. Service was great and everyone was so hospitable. Worth every penny we spent and highly recommended. It is a shame I wasn't able to come back for my birthday but will definitely visit again when we go back to Dubrovnik.

Delicious food, great service, and nice atmosphere. Perfectly cooked risoto and octopus salad. Caught a glimpse of the chef making homemade pasta! Looking forward to coming back to try it. Highly recommend!

Zvonimir was our amazing server, so outgoing and knowledgeable. He even helped us with the fish carving. He truly made our experience one of a kind. The food was amazing, fresh fish and tasty meats. 100% recommend.

It’s not the cheapest place, but you absolutely get what you pay for — top-quality ingredients, generous portions, and a truly memorable dining experience. If you’re in the area and appreciate excellent food and a beautiful setting, this place is a must.

It’s amazing!! Food is fantastic! The staffs are friendly and helpful, food is great (mentioned twice 🤭).. It runs by a family, son Ivan is handling the tables and mum is cooking in the kitchen. We will be back again for sure! Best food in Dubrovnik!!

Had a great meal, the waiter was incredibly friendly and got my food to the table really quickly! Had the beef stew which was delicious! It would be awesome if there were some Croatian desserts because I would have definitely had some!
