Tavern Mylos

Food was incredible. Service was a little frosty. We had been learning Greek for our holiday, but waitress seemed a bit impatient with us about this (might be because they were busy). Everywhere else we've been this holiday, everyone has seemed very grateful for the effort we've put in to learning the language & seemed impressed/surprised. There doesn't seem to be that many tables here, so i recommend you to book up, as the lady managed to squeeze us in on a reserved table before they arrived. The Mediterranean pork with orange sauce was incredible! Service could of been warmer & not much atmosphere. But I would love to eat that pork again!

Had 2 meals here, a lunch and a dinner, during our stay at the nearby The Island Hotel. This is the highest rated local taverna for a reason. The service is so amazing. We were always greeted with a smile and even given some complimentary beers on our second visit! But more importantly the food is out of this world! If you are looking for traditional greek cuisine, that has been lovingly prepared and elevated to a high standard, then this is your place. Cannot fault Taverna Mylos!

We visit this taverna quite often in my holidays. This is the best taverna in Gouves and and I can say one of the best in Heraklion you can tell by the rest of the reviews as well. We had many different plates from traditional like orino lamb and even the pizza was really tasty with a very tasty dough. The atmosphere is really nice and quiet. The music is not too loud and matches the vibe. Prices are also very fair for the quality. I would recommend you to visit as you will be more than happy with your choice.

Very cute decor, lovely service and tasty local food. We've gone twice so far and both times we've had a good experience with both the food and the service. Will be going again tomorrow while we're staying in Crete.

Staff were amazing, so happy to chat with the children. Speaking German, Greek and English perfectly. The food was fantastic as well. I had the pork sovlaki and my husband had lamb chops and they were both cooked perfectly. Also the best pina colada in gouves. We will definitely be back for another meal.

The place is just so great! Super friendly and lovely hosts. Awesome food. Mousaka and calamari stole my heart. The guys were so great that cooked us a special order that was not on the menu. Definitely the best place for a proper dinner in the area. I wish mylos tavern looots of good guests! Thank you

Very good and authentic recipes, something rare in a tourist area, go for anything cooked in their wood burning oven. The service was impeccable and friendly and the atmosphere very relaxed and pleasant. Prices very reasonable.

My daughter and I ate here several times during our 2 week holiday. Super tasty food, very attentive staff, beautifully decorated and great value for money. My daughter is vegan and they were very happy to adapt dishes for her. Would definitely recommend.
