Our Favorite Places of 2019

"On a dark side-street of Osaka’s Kurosakicho area, there’s a cozy little bar dedicated to Star Wars merchandise, all of it unlicensed knockoffs collected from all corners of the world. The bar, known as “Tavern Pachimon Wars” (pachimon roughly translates to what would be known as “knockoff” or “bootleg” in English), is the product of owner Shuichi Kimura’s years-long obsession with unofficial memorabilia from his favorite movie series. Shelves of lumpy-looking Darth Vaders, blue Boba Fetts, and Spanish-speaking Yodas fill the walls and counters. A pachinko game calls itself “Space Zero,” but bears unmistakable X-wings. It all adds up to a fascinating look at how the American pop-culture phenomenon has been interpreted in cultures all over the globe.  The bar, while small, is friendly and inviting. Die-cut shapes in the walls pulse with LEDs, creating a sci-fi atmosphere. Star Wars–themed drinks and food are on menu as well." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

This bar is amazing if you want to meet cool local people and nice drinks. All Star Wars themed props and images, figurines and stickers. The vibe is very nice and chill, the owner and lovely bartender were so friendly and welcoming. They showed us the best hospitality and recommended some other local places. We will most definitely be back! Thank you so much for that! If you like Star Wars and want some cold beer or sake, please try it, you wont be disappointed. 🙏🏼🫡💪🏼🇯🇵💫🍻 Kompai

Thank you very much for having us! 🙂 The Tavern for every Star Wars fan visiting Osaka (and anybody else too). Superb decoration and a lotus of vintage Star Wars Merchandise make this an unforgettable visit. Good snacks and drinks at affordable prices. The service was very good. Thanks for our talk about the items in your Display. Best regards, Peter The Star Wars fan from Germany, 15.09.2025

If you're a star wars fan IT IS A MUST to visit this bar! The owners are super friendly and speak fluent English so no need to worry if you don't speak any Japanese. Came here alone and almost immediately made new friends here. Drinks was really good, the snacks were just okay but who cares about that, you're here for the awesome and unique star wars bar experience. And they also sell some merch like shirts,a custom made sake and even some gacha toys!(only 500yen coin works on this machine) I would definitely come back here again.

My friend is a Star Wars super fan, so we had to stop here when we were in Osaka. This place has a great vibe with excellent bartenders. The decor is awesome, and you feel like you have stepped onto a Star Wars set. Even if you aren't a fan of Star Wars, this is a must stop for at least one cold beverage.

Came here a few times during our stay in Osaka — really neat concept! It’s a bar packed to the brim with Star Wars memorabilia, both official and bootleg. The staff are super friendly, the drinks are fun Star Wars riffs on Japanese classics (and cheap, too!), and the food is great. The owner even does awesome Boba Fett cosplays, which adds to the fun atmosphere. Located in a cool part of Osaka, it’s definitely worth checking out — I even bought a T-shirt!

Meeting someone at Star Wars Celebration Japan who recommended this bar was a stroke of luck! This place is an absolute must-visit for any Star Wars fan. From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the floor-to-ceiling decorations and the incredible collection of figures. The 'R2' drink was incredibly delicious, and the food was fantastic too. What truly made the night special was the amazing sense of community – everyone was chatting and sharing their Celebration experiences. The service was top-notch, and the owner even gave us some cool swag stickers! If you're anywhere near and love Star Wars, make a hyperspace jump to this bar – you won't regret it!
