Had dinner at Taverna Azzurra and the view of the water along with the vibes in Sorrento were spectacular. The seating on the road was very enjoyable. I ordered the Spaghetti alla Napoletana and it was good. The calamari appetizer for the middle was very well-cooked, quite tasty (as was the shrimp). Very nice restaurant in Sorrento!

Google
Incredible food, wine and service! I love the outdoor seating by the water. This is my favorite spot in Sorrento! The crab ravioli is amazing as well as the bruschetta. The service is seriously amazing and the co-owner is a sweetheart! I recommend this place to all of my friends/family who visit!

Google
Pretty good seafood although the prices were a bit high (like most places around here..). Right on the water so the view is great. Service was good and they spoke English very well.

Google
Thoroughly enjoyed discovering this place to eat on our first day in Sorrento. The staff were attentive, the food was incredible (a special shout out to the special of the day, a fish shaped ravioli with fresh crab in a prawn sauce), highly recommend the lobster linguine. Wine selection was great too, lovely views over the water.

Google
Great food, good location, and spotlessly clean bathrooms! The salmon farfalle was one of the best pastas I’ve had, and you could tell the caprese salad was fresh. The outdoor seating was warm on a cool, rainy day thanks to the heaters, and I appreciated the clear sides of the seating area so diners could still see the ocean.

Google
Taverna Azzurra di Sorrento offers a pleasant dining experience, though the food didn't quite live up to the price point. The swordfish was unfortunately overcooked, which took away from what could have been a standout dish. On the positive side, the octopus was fresh and prepared very well — tender and flavorful. Service was solid and the atmosphere charming, but overall, the meal was just okay considering the cost. Still worth a visit if you're in the area, but there may be better options nearby for the same price.

Google
Our favourite spot in Sorrento. We kept going back the entire trip and will miss it when we leave. Amazing food and delightful staff. The caprese salad was fresh and flavourful. The seafood pasta was incredible and you could still smell the sea when it was served. The side baked potatoes were delicious. The food was served hot and very quickly. A bonus is you get an incredible view of marina grande and mount Vesuvius while you dine. The staff are friendly, kind, personable and accommodating. They are attentive to allergies and care about how we feel about the food and experience. Great cocktails as well. 100% would recommend to anyone and everyone!!!

Google
Actually we went to this place because it was the one we found an empty table outside. But I must say it was great. Started with the staff, very friendly and funny, but not too much intrusive. The view is amazing, located in the marina. The food was a nice surprise on the good way because I confess we had small expectations. So from our side it was all very good and totally recommended. Prices are in line with the location.

Yelp
The food was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. We sat outside and had a view of the water. The pasta was delicious and the seafood we had was fresh and tasty.

Yelp
We came looking for another restaurant but it was closed so we decided to eat here as it was the only one open at the time. Is a lovely restaurant located on the beach. It also has an inside seating area. We ordered the prosciutto e treccia do mozzarella, gnocchi alla sorrentina, and the spaghetti con cozze. The food was really good! The prosciutto was delicious and the mozzarella was super fresh and yummy! The gnocchi was good, not outstanding but good. The spaghetti was delicious too. Big plate with lots of mussels! Overall a good experience!

Yelp
Amazing! We stayed in Sorrento for 3 nights and had the opportunity to eat at Taverna Azzura twice. Both times were fantastic. Service was friendly and food was fresh and very tasty. We sat by the water and the view was spectacular. I'll be dreaming of this place until we come back.

Yelp
Excellent food and service and sunsets are to die for!! Had the crab ravioli and it was heavenly and calamari was mounstrous!!! The owner Genaro was very welcoming

Yelp
We stopped in here after being well greeted by a worker. We decided to have a drink and tried the grilled octopus. It was delicious! So fresh and grilled to perfection. The staff were super friendly and there for whatever you needed. This is definitely a great spot in the Marina to sit outside during sunset.

Yelp
Had the most EXCELLENT meal here. Service was impeccable-they didn't have any tables available so they literally took a folding table out of the restaurant for us and set it up right on the water! Sitting on the water's edge here and eating fresh seafood was a magical experience. The seafood pastas, house white wine, mixed seafood appetizer, and pear cheesecake were all amazing and one of our favorite dinners in all of Italy. Price was also really reasonable (especially the wine!). Would highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
It may have been a bad night for the staff- the communication between our server and the kitchen resulted in a lot of chaos. We ordered drinks and appetizers of fried calamari and smoked salmon, then mains of one 4 cheese pizza and two lasagnas. Well, when the pizza came (it maybe had one cheese, Important because it didn't seem like the right one but we ate it anyway assuming it was right) and we only got one lasagna. I waited patiently, and so did the table next to me who was also missing an item (a pizza). After trying to tell our server we needed another lasagna, it took around 30 minutes for us to actually receive it. But guess what- the table next to us got their pizza an hour later! AND they brought out my mom's pizza- the right one! They had given US the pizza for the table next to us, didn't even realize their mistake, and had made their pizza again, seemingly realizing the 4 cheese pizza they had probably made an hour earlier never made it out. They didn't know what to do with the now extra pizza, so, making up for the mishap, gave it to us on the house. Now, I'm not particularly upset with our experience, but it was disappointing our last evening in sorrento was a bit of a mishap & a few dismissive words from one of the worker left us stranded for two hours with half of what we ordered. On a different night maybe this restaurant would be 5 stars for the food (it was good), but tonight it didn't quite achieve that.

Yelp
My favorite meal in Sorrento! The crab ravioli and linguine with lobster was cooked so well and tasted like heaven!! The caprese salad and drinks were also delicious! Highly highly recommend eating here, the view could not be better right on the beach

Yelp
Hey! Pretty good! Our driver for our Amalfi Coast tour recommended that we head to Marina Grande for a less touristy, less crowded place to have dinner. From the main piazza in Sorrento, it took about 15-20 minutes to walk there. The restaurant has a lot of outdoor seating, but it's not the most pleasant view as the beach is quite dirty and ugly. Their menu is definitely seafood centric, but has appetizers, first courses, second courses, and side dishes like other places. We got some bruschetta on the house!! which was very tasty (even for me, the tomato hater), grilled sea bream, linguine with prawns and fennel, and crab ravioli, along with grilled vegetables. The food was all very good, and seasoned well. The price was a bit high, so that (along with less pleasant views) is why I docked a star.

Kin C.

Yelp
Wonderful service and delicious food. The scenery is also breathtaking. What is amazing is that the prices are better than some of the restaurants in Old Town that pale in comparison to this place. You'd think with the level of service, the views, and the quality of the food it would cost a fortune. We are definitely going back!

Yelp
My wife and I have now been to Sorrento four times over the last six years and we always make a point to stop and have dinner at Taverna! With homemade ravioli, both lobster and crab you can't go wrong. The view of Mount Vesuvius is astounding. This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in southern Italy.

Yelp
Great location and good for a crowd. We enjoyed the seafood and pasta dishes. Squid was a favorite

Yelp
Great food and service. Wonderful family. Grilled anchovies were sensational. Local fishing village is quaint, too!

Yelp
Food was great but the view was even better! Walked way down the hill to the ocean and greeted to a great locals place with fresh seafood. Had the octopus appetizer and the crab stuffed ravioli, all while stairing our to the ocean. **Warning, this could be a 20 Min walk down from town, and taxis are expensive here. I would walk and take a cab back.

Yelp
What a fantastic experience! My family and I had the pleasure of dining here last night, and we were so impressed with the food and the quality! It's a family owned restaurant (2 brothers/1 uncle) and they were dishing authentic Italian dishes! We had a Lasagna, Linguini with Shrimp, Penne Arrabbiata, Chicken Parmesan, and Chicken in a wine/lemon cream sauce with asparagus and a side of spicy cherry tomato pasta. YUMM. I am so livid with myself for deleting the videos, BUT IT WAS AMAZING One of the brothers studied wine and NAILED everyone to the T! He was so good that my dad was drinking beer and ended up getting of wine. The chicken in the lemon cream sauce was probably one of the moistest and perfectly cooked chicken I've had in months! The Lasagna is made FRESH to order and comes in a little cast iron skillet. The Penne was soo fresh, flavorful, and overall a classic. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious but small lol! Ask for a side of pasta of with it. The linguini was equally delicious, but if you don't like seafood or the briny taste that sometime comes from seafood this is not for you. We had the lemon cake & chocolate bomba & hazelnut gelato (tiramisu was sold out) for dessert Lastly, they even called us a taxi at a great rate for us! We talked with the family for about 15 minutes, and learned they have been doing this for over 35 years!! We love them and might even be back again before we go back. They have 3 parts to their restaurant so yes they will find seating for you lol! Totally worth checking them out.

Yelp
There are better restaurants around then this . While the service wasn't horrible. The server that polite and prompt however he definitely did not want to be working . The basic dishes were good. (Grilled fish, fried calamari) anything complicated became not as great. I have other complaints but I'll just chalk it up to the kitchen having a bad day . I've noticed when a restaurant has 10,000 items on the menu it's best to get up

Yelp
Got one star because I can't give a zero We were seated away from the rest of the customers Ignored and eventually served overpriced apps, Tasteless entres of 1/4" swordfish? ,and another local frozen fish of another name. We were ignored again when we tried to pay . Finally got out of there. If you see this place just keep walking to the next restaurant In my opinion, they should close. I think they lost the passion.

Yelp
Crab Ravioli is delicious. Seabass is fresh, moist and grilled to perfection. Lasagna is great too.

Yelp
First stop upon visiting Sorrento and it left much to be desired. We were actually trying to have lunch at Sole & Fish, but were told that they were closed till dinner time. We were starved, so we just went to the next available restaurant. There was only 1 other table eating so you would think that service would be top notch, but nope. We barely got much attention and the food was subpar. Nothing spectacular, though the portions were quite decent (American sized). My husband and I both had seafood pasta - be careful and watch out for sand! It definitely takes you by surprise. The view from the restaurant was decent, as its right next to the beach. Though, I honestly prefer to have a little bit of distance, so that kids playing in the sand isn't tossing it my way while I eat.

Yelp
This place was amazing. We walked all over Italy , Florence, Siena, Rome, Positano and can honestly say this restaurant was the best. We came back three times in four days because of how delicious the food was and impeccable service. Not to mention the view and wine. I highly recommend the "Avocado Cosa Nostra" which is basically caprese but with avocado and this amazing oil mustard sauce. Delicious!! The crab ravioli was delicious as well. Lastly the sea bass! Wow!!!!! Enjoy

Yelp
Excellent dish! Beautiful view and beautiful seating on the beach! Bruschetta was wonderful as an app and the ravioli was amazing. My daughter has their specialty - crab ravioli and it was fabulous!

Yelp
Caprese salad was incredible! Shrimp ravioli was really tasty too, great sauce. Calamari was so-so, and service wasn't the best. Very nice location by the water and a great patio.

Yelp
We found this gem of a restaurant on our last night in Sorrento. It's in a very special location for dining al fresco! A small, peaceful place in the evening, away from the hustle & bustle of the overwhelming amount of other shops and restaurants crammed into narrow lanes. The calamari fritti was the best I've ever had. Great wine selection and I also loved the crab stuffed ravioli. I highly recommend Taverna Azzurra

Yelp
We came here on our last night in Sorrento and it was by far the best meal we had! Amazing food and the service from Gennaro and Salvatore was impeccable. They even gave us a complimentary ride home. The special crab ravioli was to die for and the lasagna and homemade cheesecake are a must try. I cannot say how good this place was! Beautiful setting on the beach.

Yelp
This restaurants was wonderful. We had a large group of 8 and walked right in and got a table. They brought us free bruschetta and a cocktail tasting. The house wine was great and cost just $10 a bottle. Everything we ordered was excellent the cheese tray, crab ravioli, octopus, fried mixed fish, and dessert. The house dessert I highly recommend. To top off the evening they have us free lemon cello shots. I will definitely come back the next time we visit Sorrento.

Yelp
My wife and I happened upon this place on a Tuesday evening while vacationing in Sorrento. The owner, Gennaro, was standing out front and invited us in. They proceeded to treat us like royalty for the night. The seafood was fresh and prepared well and the hospitality and service was top notch. A few days later we strolled by around lunch time and Gennaro invited us to return and enjoy the beach with drinks and snacks. So around 3pm we walked back down and they set up lounge chairs on their small beach with a table and provided some fresh strawberries. We ordered some wine and calamari (which was prepared perfectly). It was a great afternoon. Our experiences were so good that we decided to return for our last meal. Unfortunately, being Gennaros Birthday, he wasn't there and the feel was very different. The service was still good and the food delicious. It just didn't have the same personal touches we enjoyed so much. He did arrive as we were finishing up and we got to chat with him a bit. There were some workers working on lights and banging away during our meal. That was the only real negative. Not sure that would have happened had Gennaro been on the property.l at the time. If you're in Sorrento it's a must to stop by. You won't regret it.

Yelp
If you're staying in Sorrento you should absolutely have dinner here ! The view, dining with the sound of the waves and directly on the beach is an amazing experience. The staff is very welcoming and will always come and check on you. The food is perfect, they have a wide variety of seafood and fish of the day. The wine is very good too ( and cheap as well!!) . It's THE perfect place to have a very -movie like- romantic dinner ! And the cherry on the cake .. A lift back to the hotel !

Yelp
Seaside dining in Sorrento. Fresh seafood. delicious pastas. Great ambiance, right on the beach. Slow service, but who cares. Had to wait a bit for our table, but the owner (I think) brought us some sangria on the house while we waited. Crab ravioli was amazing. House red wine was perfect. Great spot.

Yelp
For the view and the food, this place gets a pretty solid 4 stars. Service is very nice and food is quite good. We stumbled upon this place around 11pm and they were flexible enough to accommodate (I believe they close around 11pm). The seating is right next to the water and the food is pretty fresh. They do charge 2€/person cover charge, but I think that is pretty standard. Overall, pretty happy with this place.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Come here to get the best seafood in Sorrento... From the staff to the food, wine and atmosphere everything was perfect. My mother had the special: crab ravioli which was Devine. I had the grilled sea bass... I order sea bass whenever I see it is fresh and this was the best prepared and freshest sea bass I've ever had. Very simple but extremely delicious. We ordered the calamari to start which was excellent and veggies as a side with our dinner (wow.. who need vegetables could be so good and well prepared). Restaurant was recommended by a local and it did not disappoint.

Paula S.

Yelp
Some of the worst food we have ever had. Pasta with shrimp & fennel was way too salty to eat and the shrimp didn't taste fresh. The whole mahi mahi tasted very bad and did not have good texture. A lot of flies around food.

Jade M.

Yelp
The worst restaurant in all of Italy. Service was horrible, all the the workers seemed uninterested and annoyed to be working and serving us. The pasta was not cooked and extremely hard. There was no cutlery nor did anyone get us any i had to get up from my chair and search for a fork while my horrible food got cold. Do not come here. Worst restaurant in sorrento. If there was an option to give no stars I would.
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
They specialize in seafood given they are right on the water, but my wife was impressed with the amount of non seafood offerings they had given she doesn't eat seafood. Her spicy pasta and my veal scaloppine were both the best of our trip. Seafood prices seemed a little inflated (coming from an American) but non seafood prices were reasonable. Free sample of alcohol on arrival. Only 6 euro for a half bottle of wine. The ambiance was nice at night as we sat along the shore. We each got a few bug bites though and the service wasn't great but they were busy so maybe it was an off night for their staff. Overall I'd probably return.
google avatar

Shirley Z.

Yelp
I walked back and forth along the fisherman village in Sorrento, and this place looked the busiest and lively. Upon arrival, you are given a sweet glass of sparkling white wine, along with fresh bruschetta as compliments of the chef. I highly recommend their homemade crab ravioli, the sauce is amazing, and the little shrimps really completed the flavors. Order the linguine with lobster as your main course if you're feeling the splurge, it is worth every cent. Probably one of my favorite lobster linguine entrees in Italy!
google avatar

Edward N.

Yelp
This is a seaside treasure! We loved the mixed seafood antipasto. The crab filled ravioli and sea bass were extraordinary!! On top of great food you couldn't beat the view! Also do order the house wine, it's very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Dined here for lunch two days ago and had a nice experience. The view is awesome- right at the Marina Grande in Sorrento. We had the crab cocktail for our app- it was ok. There was a bit too much mayo sauce over the meat for my taste. For entrees we had a platter of mussels and the crab stuffed ravioli- all was really delicious. The blush sauce on the ravioli was fantastic. With that food, 2 beers, and a hot tea the meal was €60. Very good meal.

Kelly A.

Yelp
My husband & I honeymooned in Italy, Sorrento was our last stop (we hit Venice, Florence, Positano & Amalfi Town before) and Taverna Azzurra was by far the best place we ate at our whole trip (not joking) -- so much so that we ate here 2 nights in a row! We were recommended to eat at the Marina Grande for a less touristy and crowded place to have dinner by our hotel. The owner caught our attention -- a very hospitable man and the outdoor seating was a huge plus so we chose to eat here, and we are so glad we did! The food is absolutely incredible. The first night I had the crab ravioli and my husband was craving a lobster pasta so the chef created a dish special for him that was to die for (oh, and the wine was amazing as well!) The second night we spilt a large plate of seafood pasta which was fresh, not too heavy, and had amazing flavor. The quality of the food is top notch, as is the service. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place and the family that owns it -- apparently has been run by the same family for generations, a very sweet and passionate family, you can literally taste their passion in their food. This is REAL Italian dining at its best. We dream about coming back here one day and wish the family who owns it our very best!

Divya G.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Me and my husband would definitely recommend people try it. I had the ravioli with crab meat and my husband had the seafood linguine. Both dished were beyond our expectations! We loved it.

Miechaela B.

Yelp
The octopus and potato app was burnt. The crab ravioli was under cooked and the steak was really fatty. When we got the bill they overcharged us $7 for the steak and charged us for 2 apps. The view was beautiful and the people were nice. I won't eat here again.

Emily P.

Yelp
the food and service were incredible!! I had the gnocchi with clams and it was one of my favorite dishes I've had in Italy. as we were sitting there a man came around and played music which brought the restaurant to life.

Jimmy L.

Yelp
Do not eat here service is terable and guy hovers over the table waiting so you give him a better tip.If that's not bad enough they gave my son a frozen pizza the nerve of there's people

Yelp
I was in the mood for some seafood and Walked down to the marina to scout for a good place to eat. Being Saturday night the area was packed. What caught my eye was the variety of fresh fish displayed outside this restaurant so I decided taverna azzuri was the place for me. I Think the server who took care of me was one of the owners (forgot to ask his name) He immediately got me a beautiful table right on the water. Here's the best part. 2/3 items i ordered were NOT on the menu. Server gave me over the top typical family treatment and suggested the stuffed crab ravioli with seafood ragu. I wanted a mixed grilled seafood platter, so he had the kitchen put together a wonderful dish for me (please see photos). Both these items were not on the menu. Also ordered the bresaola which was delicious. Anyways the food, ambiance was outstanding and so was the service. To Top off the meal he served shots of home made limoncello. Would definitely recommend this place. Probably best meal I've had during my stay in Sorento.. Fantastico!!!

J S.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW!!! The Red Snapper was melt in your mouth delicious! The tomato salad tasted fresh from the local garden. Wine pairing fit perfectly through every course, all the way through dessert. A perfect marriage of flavors throughout the meal.
google avatar

Miguel N.

Yelp
Service was great, food in general was good, not too many dessert selections, crepes really different taste (didn't like it ) .
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
A solid family run eating establishment. When you first walk in you're not sure if you've made a wise dining decision. The overall appearance is not the best but when you're seated and take a look at the menu you start to feel at home. The food is authentic as it gets and all of the seafood on display is fresh. Classic and simple preparation with wonderful ingredients. Try the octopus casserole. You won't be sorry.

maria h.

Yelp
Sat outside in a covered patio and had a whole fish recommended by the server. Also ordered French fries and veggies. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. House wine was also good. Can't beat eating by the water.

Yelp
The view here is unbelievable. Sorrento is beautiful. The owner gennaro is the son of the original owners and he is such a sweet man. He was very helpful and his food was extremely fresh. We ate so much and the wine is just delicious! We found his restaurant via google. Wish it was yelp but I'm contributing here. We order the prosciutto but it was just okay. The seafood is a must. We got mussels, fried calamari, bruschetta, seafood pasta, red snapper, and grilled prawns. Omg the food was all amazing! I don't want to go home!

Yelp
Very good seafood and nice ambience on the water in Sorrento.

Yelp
Worst service I have had in a week in Italy. The food is above average - Spaghetti with clams and generous calamari in very good red sauce. Would have been four for he food -and the view- but the staff is downright disrespectful. They appear to care only for tables of wealthy looking British socialites- they had the attention of the owner and four waitstaff - meanwhile I asked for the check, in Italian THREE times and was ignored. I asked, as best I could, for a glass of white wine, as long as it want ant Chardonnay. The waitress crossed her arms, announced she didn't understand English, and went to the table of British socialites. I cannot recommend this place except for takeout.
