I had high hopes for the place and ending up leaving feeling a little bit disappointed. Nothing terrible, and there were some great highlights to the meal, but perhaps I ordered wrong.
Service was great and ambiance is beautiful with white linen tablecloths, making it feel a little more classy than a lot of other restaurants.
Starters: monkfish with burrata / shrimp & scallop tart
Entrees: green bean pasta / seafood risotto
Desserts: chocolate cakes
Local bottle of white wine was delicious. Monkfish app was my favorite part of the meal. Fried, delicate monkfish atop a dollop of fresh burrata - amazing. My "tart" was actually a mound of mashed potatoes with some seafood thrown in, which was weird. Flavors were executed nicely, but texturally, it made no sense and I was really hoping for some crunch.
Entrees is where they lost me. My BF's risotto was cooked properly in texture, but WAY too buttery - like it totally overpowered the taste buds. And as for my green bean pasta, I should've went with my gut and got seafood. I don't even LIKE green beans, but I figured I'd give it a shot since I had been wanting to try a vegetarian take on a dish in Italy. It was...interesting. And not in a good way. I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference, but the whole dish was mealy and thick and the sauce was pea soup consistency and color, which is not appetizing to the eye. My BF actually liked both dishes, but said mine tasted like peanut butter which turned me off to it even more.
Chocolate cakes for dessert were really tasty.
