Very tasty seafood. Fresh and exquisite flavor, just enough sourness of tomato. Home made bread and pasta! Even bread was fresh and tasty. Staff was friendly, patient and attentive. It is in a small alley so it was not touristic and I could enjoy the meal in quietness. I recommend seating outside where you can smell some flower on the tree. If I have to pick one thing out is that the wet cleaning tissue‘s smell is taking over the food’s aroma.

Google
Highly recommend checking it out, the servers were very friendly and helpful, who came with quality recommendations. We got mussels cooked in tomato sauce along with capers and olives, which was a great starter. For my main, I went with the Fusilli with pumpkin and shrimp, that ended up being my favorite dish of the trip. If you’re looking to a place that can give you quality local recommendations, a Mediterranean atmosphere, and lovely food, this is your place.

Google
Hands down the most authentic restaurant in the heart of Amalfi. If you could only dine at one place, it should be this. From its quaint courtyard to its hearty meals, this is most definitely a place I will recommend over and over again. PS: try the octopus. Possibly the most tender octopus dish I have ever had in my life. Wow! ❤️❤️❤️

Taverna Buonvicino – A Hidden Gem in Amalfi Tucked away in a quiet corner of Amalfi town, Taverna Buonvicino is a true hidden gem. The ambiance is charming and peaceful, offering a perfect escape from the bustling main streets. The food was outstanding—our group enjoyed the lobster linguine, the catch of the day, the pork fillet, and fries, all beautifully prepared and full of flavor. To top it off, we tried the desserts personally recommended by the owner, including a light and creamy lemon cake that was simply divine. The perfect balance of citrus, sweetness, and airy texture made it an unforgettable treat. What truly sets this place apart is the warm hospitality. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home and ensuring we had the best experience. If you're in Amalfi, don’t miss the chance to dine here. Highly recommended!

We had 3 dishes and the octopus for an appetizer. The octopus was delicious…. The rest of the plates, were okay. I am not a big fan of cooked cherry tomatoes, so take this with a grain of salt.

Google
In a word… Outstanding! Highly recommend the seafood pasta with their homemade pasta (we loved it so much we reordered it!!), their pasta with Colatura di Alici, and their lemon cake. What a great experience! We’ll be back next time we’re in the area.

Google
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and very kind staff. I had one of the best linguine all’astice ever. Also, congrats on the waiter that speaks fluent English, German and French. Being Italian, it was a pleasure to have lunch here in Amalfi and I totally recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting.

Google
Atmosphere was way better than most of the restaurants you encounter on the main street of Amalfi. Little pricey for portion size but delicious. Some of my group got the slow cooked pork but was a bit underwhelming. The rest from the other mains to the wine were great.

Yelp
We noticed the sign for this restaurant while approaching our accommodation. It is hidden up a narrow lane, leading to some steps behind a church. What a find! Beautiful outdoor dining area, perfect for a date night. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Minimal ingredients, simple, elegant, well cooked. We shared the Octopus appetiser. My wife enjoyed the Ricotta Ravioli while I took the grilled Sea Bass. They do wine by the glass which made it easy for us to enjoy our preferences to pair with our different meals. Not inexpensive, but worth it for a "spoil yourself" experience, away from the tourist trap eateries in the village. Recommended!!

Yelp
Amazing service and ambiance. We sat in the courtyard which sits behind a church. Ordered a delicious bottle of Italian rose and ordered steak as we were completely pasta-ed out! Very romantic setting for a date night.

Yelp
Food was impeccable and our waiter was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and communicative. We stumbled upon this place in the back streets and were able to walk in, however I would recommend a reservation. Thank you for the lovely dinner!

Yelp
Another outstanding restaurant just off the main thoroughfare in Amalfi. We showed up on a Thursday, and were told they were full. So we made a reservation the following night. Take note: the dining area is small, and their beautiful outdoor eating area is only 6 tables so make your reservation! Service was extremely attentive and helpful. I said I was vegan and he pointed out some modifications that would make several items work. This was very helpful! Of the 3-4 vegetarian items on the menu, almost all of them could be made vegan with no problem. Now, let's talk about the pasta. It might have been the best pasta I have had in Italy. Homemade, served hot and fresh, and with turnip tops! It was an amazing meal! My wife had one of the specials - rigatoni with sea bass and said it was also one of the best meals she has had in Amalfi. Vegan/plant-based, vegetarian, or if you eat meat...add this to your list of stops for dinner!

Yelp
We really enjoyed an excellent lunch at this Italian restaurant specializing in seafood. It just down a narrow street from the Duomo in Amalfi. We were greeted an hour before they opened and invited back after highlighting the menu. The sea bass sautéed in olive oil, lemon, and capers was the best sea bass we've had. The homemade linguine with clam sauce was great too. The waiter recommended a nice local Fahlanghina wine.

Yelp
Good ambiance and located away from the Main Street. Food wise nothing out of the ordinary compared to restaurants around but definitely nice location

Yelp
My husband a steak with fries and I had the linguine with almonds. The almonds in the pasta gave it texture. It was a little overwhelming for me, but still very good. The steak was seasoned very well. The restaurant is definitely a hidden gem. Would recommend.

Yelp
I had high hopes for the place and ending up leaving feeling a little bit disappointed. Nothing terrible, and there were some great highlights to the meal, but perhaps I ordered wrong. Service was great and ambiance is beautiful with white linen tablecloths, making it feel a little more classy than a lot of other restaurants. Starters: monkfish with burrata / shrimp & scallop tart Entrees: green bean pasta / seafood risotto Desserts: chocolate cakes Local bottle of white wine was delicious. Monkfish app was my favorite part of the meal. Fried, delicate monkfish atop a dollop of fresh burrata - amazing. My "tart" was actually a mound of mashed potatoes with some seafood thrown in, which was weird. Flavors were executed nicely, but texturally, it made no sense and I was really hoping for some crunch. Entrees is where they lost me. My BF's risotto was cooked properly in texture, but WAY too buttery - like it totally overpowered the taste buds. And as for my green bean pasta, I should've went with my gut and got seafood. I don't even LIKE green beans, but I figured I'd give it a shot since I had been wanting to try a vegetarian take on a dish in Italy. It was...interesting. And not in a good way. I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference, but the whole dish was mealy and thick and the sauce was pea soup consistency and color, which is not appetizing to the eye. My BF actually liked both dishes, but said mine tasted like peanut butter which turned me off to it even more. Chocolate cakes for dessert were really tasty.

Yelp
A truly magnificent meal. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We did not have a reservation so we arrived early and we were able to snag a table. If you are hoping to eat after 7 I would highly recommend calling ahead. The location is gorgeous and a nice hideaway from the crowded street. We started with two cocktails, a Hugo spritz and an espresso martini, both were spectacular. The espresso martini was one of the best I have bad. The food was also phenomenal. I had the lobster linguini and it could not have been better. We are so grateful to the staff for the tremendous experience. If you are in Amalfi town, this is a stop I would highly recommend making.

Yelp
The price versus quality doesn't match up here unfortunately. Ordered spaghetti with anchovy and was underwhelmed with the quality. The cover charge of $3 per person was also high as well as charging for plain water. Need to improve here.

Yelp
This very nice place is a little off the main tourist street in Amalfi and its a place you'll need to look for. I was here for lunch with a group of 5 and it was a very pleasant experience with excellent service. It is not a bargain place and if your looking for a cheap pizza place this is not it. It is worth it if you're looking for great local food, a quiet place to recharge and terrific service.

Yelp
Truly tasty! This was the best restaurant we visited in amalfi and at reasonable prices. Tucked away off the Main Street. Stay to the left when looking at the duomo' steps and you'll find a little pedestrian street which will take you here. The yelp map is spot on. Reserve ahead to guarantee an outside table. They serve soft fresh (not stail) bread and we had the mixed salad (insalada mista), fusilli genovese (handmade pasta with a meat and onion sauce), pasta mista (squid with beans). We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and thought it was the best we tried in amalfi (out of 4-5 others). Prices were fair for the quality and moderate for amalfi.

Yelp
Located in a small alley, away from the tourist trap restaurants around the main plaza, Taverna Buonvicino is a true gem in Amalfi. Our favorite in town. Small and romantic and the food always delicious. I had the Fusilli with prawns, my wife wanted a pasta carbonara, which was not on the menu, but they were nice enough to accomodate. Owner on site playing the piano all night long. Wonderful experience. Will come back.

Yelp
Such a good find - in a small courtyard up the winding stairs. Great service, great food :)

Yelp
We must ask ourselves why an entrenched restaurant in romantic Amalfi, Italy has a 4.5 rating with only 13 reviews? THIS restaurant is not anywhere near 4.5 stars. I ordered the "catch of the day" in a local seafood stew (25EURO) and my wife ordered pork cutlets (22E) with an ensalada mista (iceberg lettuce with some grated carrots on top). At those price points one would expect a great tasting experience with generous portions. NO! The 2 tiny, lukewarm, Branzino filets swimming in a sea of poorly spiced brine w/ combination of tasteless, chopped, mussels, octopus and salt was minuscule. Barely enough for an appetizer and billed as a main course. The 2 tiny, fatty pork filets served with 2 pieces of cooked onion was a huge disappointment for my wife. We should have known what we were in for when they first brought out the bread, which was truly subpar. No bread basket with nice freshly baked Italian rolls, hard crusted bread, breadsticks or focaccia. Just a choice of one piece of white or brown soft crusted sliced bread. I would expect this quality and these portions in a third rate restaurant. First and last time I will take a recommendation from my 5 star Hotel. After I relayed my disappointment to the waiter he was kind enough to deduct that overpriced fish of the day - stew dish. The bill was STILL over $100.00 (we ordered a $30 bottle of very good local wine). AN OVERPRICED TOURIST TRAP. DO NOT GO HERE.

Yelp
Cute restaurant hidden up a side street and a wonderful find away from the crowds. Great food and the service was excellent. We didn't have much time to eat before our scheduled boat trip and the waiter kindly helped us choose options which would be quick. The bruschetta and salads were delicious. We didn't have time for dessert but they looked amazing and the people at the nearby table seemed to love them. Only 5 mins from the port and such a hidden gem!

Yelp
We were looking for a place off the main square to have dinner. The menu has a variety of seafood, pasta, beef or pizza. It's small however very relaxing to be off the square and away from the tourist crowd. All seating is indoors. starters We ordered the octopus with green apple and fried artichokes loved the presentation. I ordered the sea bass with asparagus portion size was great and fresh! Waiter was very helpful recommend gluten free options, he was very knowledgable of menu items. Service was excellent greeted with a smile :) cook even said goodbye as we left. We thanked them for their great service and food suggestions. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great dinner with a fantastic wine. Nice atmosphere and a romantic date. I try to come here every time I'm in the area...

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. We went here the last night of our stay in Amalfi before traveling to another city on the coast and after visiting ravello. From beginning to end this was the best meal of our trip. The food was incredible and the service amazing. If you have traveled in Europe you are aware the service is much different than America. However- here we were treated like royalty. The best meal and the most amazing service we have had (maybe ever!). Please come visit this beautiful restaurant - come early to sit outside and enjoy music but inside is just as enjoyable! We even got some live piano inside!! Try the pasta with pistachio , clams and lemon

Yelp
This place was awesome. They had gluten free bread for my wife at the same time they brought me my regular bread. They have gluten free pasta and they even fried something differently than their regular vats because of cross contamination. It's off the square so it's not crowded. Excellent. My wife also had a fantastic gluten free dessert that was awesome!! Great place to eat as they are very attentive to allergies.

Yelp
Recommneded by our hotel, we went on our first night in town. Bitterly disappointed. Wine was excellent and the bread was good. Service was acceptable but not amazing. It was about 30 degrees outside so we both ordered a bowl of minestrone soup to start. While we were waiting for our soup, they brought us a fried rice ball, compliments of the chef, which had a fish filling and a cream sauce on top. Conceptually it was good, but execution lacked. It came out half hot and half cold. Like they warmed up the pre-prepared food but it wasn't heated through. The flavors here were good, not great. Maybe they were trying to get rid of them? The soup came out and we were excited to embrace the rich flavors you'd expect from an Italian bowl of minetrone. First bite- flavorless. My boyfriend ate his to be nice. I couldn't force myself to. After sub-par rice balls and horrible soup (worst I've ever had), we left to eat dinner somewhere else.

Yelp
This was the best restaurant we ate at in our whole trip to the Amalfi coast. It is located in an alleyway in Amalfi away from all the crowded main area. Their risotto with baby shrimps was amazing! The setting was magical, in a little courtyard off of alleyway near a church (?Santa Maria Maggiore) with tables under a large umbrella with sparkling lights.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
They have special house angel hair pasta in a parmigiana fondue with shaved tuna that was the best pasta I have ever had!

K P.

Yelp
Great dinner outside under the patio lights. Tucked away in a quiet spot, by far the best meal we ate in Amalfi!
