Cu-Cut Taverna Gastronòmica in Barcelona’s Eixample offers a cozy ambiance and a menu of innovative tapas. Dishes like tuna tartare and octopus are praised for their flavor and presentation. The attentive staff and stylish interior enhance the dining experience.

Yummy food, many choices. The meat and cheese platters are recommended!! And the sangria too. They have many other drinks and cocktails. You can sit on the tables in the beginning for a casual drink or snack, or in the ‘dinner’ area in the back.

We went for dinner and had a really nice surprise! The food was really nice, with tender meat and really good tapas. The staff was super kind and ready to accommodate any issue with food allergy. I absolutely recommend this place for a nice and cozy dinner

⚠️ Beware of tourist scams! I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I specifically asked a female server for tap water, but she either misheard or pretended to misunderstand and brought me a bottled water instead. When I saw the charge on my bill (€2.7 for water) and questioned it, she insisted that I had ordered bottled water. However, I had clearly meant free tap water, which is legally required to be provided in Spain upon request. It felt like an intentional upsell rather than an honest mistake. If they refuse to provide free tap water, they should be upfront about it instead of tricking customers into paying for bottled water. Tourists, be extra careful when ordering water here! Avoid this place if you expect honest service!

We visited Cu-Cut March 12 2025. The food and the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Decent food and good service. Atmosphere was a bit lacking - maybe it was just the wrong time of day for this restaurant

I have been here with my girlfriend and have to say that I don't really understand the good ratings... The meat I ordered (medium raw) was fatty and chewy. Service was ok but not really good. Olives are not meant for human consumption I think, extremely bitter. Cant really recommend it, price tag is far too high for what you get. Otherwise the ambience was nice and the wine was good - hence two stars

Yelp
Wow! The salmon with tzatziki was SO buttery and flavorful, and the caprese was also just so creamy and fresh and delicious. Great place to sit outside and people watch - also dog friendly!

Yelp
Cu-Cut is a nice gastro bistro located on a quiet street in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. We stopped in for an early dinner and it was excellent. We had the roasted vegetables which sounds very basic but was delicious. The veggies included red and yellow peppers, asparagus, corn, eggplant, sweet potato, and zucchini and they were roasted until nicely caramelized. We also had the tuna tartar, caprese salad which had a nice ball of soft mozzarella along with tomatoes and grapefruit, and last but not least a great piece of cheesecake with berries. Every dish was excellent. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and a menu in English. It has a casual, comfortable atmosphere and would be good for people traveling alone. Service was also great.

Yelp
Amazing seafood! My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch and it was very easy to find a table. The staff did speak English but they were patient with our not-so-great Spanish and made us feel welcome. We ordered the Carpaccio, Calamari, and the Ceviche. Our favorites were the Calamari and the Ceviche, though the carpaccio was good as well. The Ceviche had a great balance of acid to oil without over saturating the dish and was still light enough to be enjoyed without feeling overstuffed at the end. The calamari was some of the best that I have ever had, loved that it was pan seared. Hope to return!

Yelp
This was probably the most authentic Spanish restaurant we went to while in Barcelona. Not everyone spoke English here, which is always a good sign if you are looking for authentic. The place was pretty packed, but we lucked out and got a table right away. They have quite a few tapas dishes to choose from. We went with the cheese plate, the mussels, the tortilla, and the calamari. The calamari was more like two gigantic squid. This was not what I was expecting, but it was delicious and I am glad we got it. The Mussels came in a marinara sauce, which game them a great flavor. They were pretty big in size. The tortilla was a good size and came with two pieces of tomato bread, which was tasted amazing. The cheese plate came with four different Spanish cheeses all of which were yummy and great way to finish off the meal. Everyone here was very friendly and did a great job making us feel welcome. This was the perfect last meal for our time in Spain.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Barcelona and a great one! We chose this location since it was walking distance from our hotel, and glad we did. The restaurant was actually open late past 2pm, we got there around 11pm. They have an outdoor and indoor seating area. Their staff was very attentive. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and seated, some of the staff also spoke some English. They have a great selection of food and drinks to choose from. We enjoyed the lighting inside the place, it was perfect and had a delightful ambiance. We ordered the Gambas al ajillo, Salmon fresco ahumado and sangria. It was all delicious!

Yelp
Walked in and were greeted most welcome and helpful 3 course meal was very good, a perfect Spanish lunch meal

Yelp
Short story...don't come here for food or main entrees. It's a good bar place but that's about it. I came here with my husband and we ordered ceviche and Gambas to start. These were good but that's where it stopped. We both ordered their grilled beef dishes and we ordered them cooked differently: well done and and medium well. Well done came out medium well, and medium well came out almost raw. The beef looked grey and I kept asking if it was boiled instead of grilled. It was tasteless and had no seasoning whatsoever. It was brought out with mashed potatoes that were also lacking flavor. This was probably the only bad place in Barcelona we experienced during our whole stay, so that says a lot as everywhere we went we had great food and service.

Yelp
We went as a recommendation from our hotel. They did not disappoint! Service was prompt and friendly. We had the sea bass ceviche with prawns, tomato bread and mixed olives. The best ceviche I've had in Barcelona; I'll be back tomorrow.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by the B&B (Mihlton Barcelona)where I am staying. I walked in and even though I am a single woman eating alone, I was immediately greeted and given a great table. The menu is amazing. The waiter, who is an extremely charming man from France, made wonderful recommendations. I ended up getting the oxtail cooked in wine sauce. It also came with potatoes. I grew up eating oxtail and I can say it was the best I have ever eaten. I also had sangria. When I told the waiter that I was going to Paris, he took the time to write a place to get Macarons. The cost was only 20 Euros. The restaurant itself is elegant yet cozy. I was not dressed up and felt extremely comfortable. This is a must visit restaurant.

Yelp
The most authentic restaurant I went to in Barcelona. The city is extremely touristy with everyone speaking English but this was the first place in a fairly non-touristy neighborhood where the servers and hosts didn't speak a lot of English. (they have menus in English though) But don't let that deter you as a visitor! The service was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. They have lots of tapas to choose from and for our last night in Spain we went with: - la tortilla (Spanish omelet) which was my favorite of the night and the best I had in 2 weeks. - grilled squid. The menu says calamari so in my head I pictured small pieces of fried calamari like we normally get back in the US but nope. Out came 2 gigantic whole squids each about the size of an entire hand! I was so not expecting that I sent it back to the kitchen at first saying "no we did not order that." Ha! Once we got over the initial confusion, we were happy to have the entire squids - they were nicely charred and came with a mashed up green pepper compote. - mussels in marinara sauce - lovely flavor and each mussel was huge - tabla de queso - cheeseboard with 4 different types of Spanish cheese, grapes and a delicious orange marmalade spread. This was perfect for dessert. - pan con tomate - cannot go wrong with this in Spain The atmosphere is rustic, fast paced and charming. A lot more local Spaniards here. And as it got closer to 10pm, the place filled up quickly and it was busy! The waiters were all running around like crazy but the kitchen was on top of their game. We sat near the back and could see the cooks working hard and making all the dishes very quickly. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Very nice, cozy place with good food which is not too pricey. In addition, staff is also very professional and pleasant.

Yelp
Realy nice mojitos, gin n' tonic, mojitos, gin n' tonic, mojitos and ohh the food is also good. Very good service and reasonable prices.

Yelp
Good food at low prices! I especially loved the ricotta bruschetta. Beware; if you go when they're busy, the waiters are likely to be a tad mean.

Clarance B.

Yelp
We tried a couple of tapas at this place, including the piquillo peppers stuffed with cod, the mushrooms with garlic and the ceviche. While the latter was okay, the mushrooms were nothing to write home about and the piquillo peppers were too cold. There are too many good tapas restaurants in the area to waste your time on this one, which isn't that bad - but isn't good either.

Yelp
Ok food ok service - but it's just another Barcelona tourist scam in my opinion! Avoid at all costs! Would give more stars but a waiter stopped me on my way out to tell me I couldn't take the water bottle I just BOUGHT out of the restaurant. I said "I just paid for this, I should be able to do as I please." And he said "you paid for the water, not the bottle." It was the glass kind you buy in the grocery store, and I had barely drank any, so I said ok fine, get me something to put in a to-go cup. He said they didn't have any. I said how about a coffee cup that I see behind the bar? He took forever to grab one and I could tell was just trying to be difficult, so I just chugged the water and left to write them a sh:tty Yelp review. Don't come here, there are much better places, with much better food and service, to spend your money.

Yelp
We got five different tapas and all were great. Highly recommend. Tuna tartare was my favorite it duck was very popular.

Yelp
The energy of this place alone was worth a trip, but the sangria is what we were sent there to try. It seems every bar has their own special recipe and Cu-Cut's was spectacular. It was really hot out and we sat inside where it was cool, but there is nice outdoor seating as well.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
This is a good, buzzy local tapas/wine bar. Good service, reliably tasty and unusual dishes.

Hama L.

Yelp
Had the grilled pulpo and tuna tataki for lunch, both of which were excellent. Had Crema Catalana for dessert which was good but nothing special. Service a bit slow. Great outdoor seating in a quiet and tree-shaded area.
