"Following Mosaic Maps to a Local Tavern It's like the Venetians knew we'd end up lost and hungry. This mosaic placard (a tradition that dates to the Roman period) pointed us in the direction, and we wound up at a restaurant—Taverna dei Dogi, which has a relaxed atmosphere, and consistently highly rated food—a few alleys away, much to our relief."

It's a very busy place. Although it's busy, but we still had good food. The spaghetti with squid ink was delicious. Calamari seafood was also good. Risotto seafood was good too, also good wine. Service was actually better than I thought, quite quick. The place was really busy. Great atmosphere.

Nice and fresh food. One of the nicest and spacious restaurant in Venice. The food has reasonable good standard. Pasta is tasty. Salad is fresh. I came with a big group from Thailand so the service is not slow at all. All the requests were met in time.

Every food menu they serve is delicious for my taste also their decoration is unique and clicked for the Venice environment. I strongly recommend you to try it out whenever you visit Venice.

It may seem like a designated place for touring groups especially for Asians, but the dishes actually taste really good. We love the black squid pasta and the seafood risotto. Homemade tiramisu was also one of a kind. Price was reasonable. Would recommend to other friends who travel to Venice in future.

Not the best food. Waiters kept bumping into my head. The food was part of a group meal but I expected a main dish better than pork with fries.

Dear Diary - This Italian restaurant was a delightful find! The food was incredibly fresh - you could really taste the quality in every bite. The staff, while obviously busy, was attentive and friendly. It seems like a popular spot, bustling with both locals and tourists, but the atmosphere was still warm and inviting. Despite the buzz, it felt cozy and comfortable – a perfect spot for a delicious and lively Italian meal.

Yelp
This was a lovely little restaurant tucked down one of the Venetian alleyways, but then again Venice seems to be full of allyways, so that really doesn't help all that much. Honestly, the main reason I came here was because of the name, and because I have studied the history of Venice. Honestly, I suspect very few people actually know what a Doge is, and why he happened to be important, but then again we do have Wikipedia for that. It was a pretty cool restaurant though, a little crowded, and dark, and pricey, but then again you probably should expect that when you are in Venice.

Yelp
Next to the hottest tourist spot - St Marco square. The front looks fancy so I made a mistake to walk in. (a family of 3) Menus were shabby and dirty, dishes are pricy and unimpressed. In the middle of eating there came a group of 40 plus likely Malaysia tourists with a tour guide holding a flag. Apparently this place has an arrangement with the tour guide. Waiters started to serve the group with squid ink spaghetti almost immediately. The place suddenly became very Noisy. As for our bill , I saw a charge €3/person for coperto and I was surprised to see a Servizio of €24.1 (total bill including tax, coperto, servizio is €184.8 ) Called the guy, who simply stated they are there and cannot be removed. This whole place is a tourist trap. Avoid it.

Yelp
It's almost impossible to find a bad meal in Italy, and this place proves it. We literally stumbled onto this place down a pitch-dark, narrow little alley called Calle Albanesi, not far from Venice's famous St. Mark's Square and the "Bridge of Sighs." It's decorated with great art work, and the prices were pretty reasonable for an expensive city like Venice. We had a typical four-course Italian dinner of lasagna, salad, rosemary roasted chicken, and gelato with fruit. Everything was great. (Bread or rolls also comes with every meal in Italian restaurants and you're charged for it whether you eat it or not, so you might as well eat it.) Not bad for a totally blind pick.
