The best pizza ever and it has fantastic staff. loved our night here. The food was amazing and we had such a laugh with the servers. We didn't think we would have room for a sweet, but we squeezed one in. Best food in Italy so far.

First evening in Stresa, we had booked, just as well as sign out saying no tables available all evening. Luvly welcome from a really friendly cheery staff member. Shown our table outside. surrounded by overhanging grape vines, a luvly area till it rained, 😀 ( a couple of tables had to move inside as rain came thru the vines) All our food was superb, very tasty and freshly made, we shared a Mediterranean bruschetta starter, a lasagne and a seafood pizza and a dessert ( the desserts in the cabinet looks very inviting) all washed down with a very reasonable priced white wine. We thoroughly njoyed our food and our evening, this is a great friendly restaurant with luvly staff. , out of all our restaurant visits during our holiday, this place was No 1. We really loved the vegetarian pizza with zucchini, eggplant, and tomatoes. The crust on the pizza was so fluffy! We got the pasta alla Norma as well which was just ok. Bruschetta was with cooked tomatoes which was different than what I’m used to but very good! Ended with delicious tiramisu.

Highly recommend. All the pizzas we tried were incredible. Come early for lunch (noon) or make a reservation for dinner.

Amazing pizza! Huge sizes and great prices. Definitely recommend booking in advance or queue up as soon as it opens! Came back twice :) Grazie mille!

Wonderful place, we came here right at the opening time and we waited in a line, the restaurant was almost full in a few minutes and even though there was so many customers coming at the same time we still got served uncoporabaly faster then in many other restaurants. Pizzas were tasty, but the crust can be a bit too fluffy for some people.

Best pizza I had on our weeklong trip to Milan and Lago Maggiore. Specifically sought out best pizza on the lake and this was fantastic. Always prefer crispy, thin crust but this airy, puffy dough was delicious and addicting. Wasn’t sure I could eat it all myself when they set it down, then wound up devouring it in 10 minutes. Plus, it’s in a cool atmosphere with grape vines forming the ceiling on the patio. Worth a drive or ferry to Stresa to check it out.

Pizza napoletana with some room for improvement. The restaurant has a large vine pergola to dine under, which creates a nice ambiance. The menu offers pasta, fish, meat and pizza napoletana. Obviously the wide selection does exist to please everyone (burgers…for Americans I guess…). Try their own craft beer (IPA and Lager) if you like beer. There are special pizzas with local and regional ingredients which is nice. You can also opt for the classics and order a pizza margherita (Tricolore). The style of pizza is napoletan, so you get a large crust. In this particular case, the crust was enormous. You definitely get full with it, but I have tried other pizza napoletana with a better base to crust ratio. This could be improved. To make a enormous crust, only for the visuals - I don’t like that. But decide for yourself if you want to try it.

Enjoyed lunch with my family of five for our last meal in Italy. My wife ordered a pizza which was excellent, although served after the pasta dishes which my kids and I had. In Italy, pasta is the first course so if you want all of the courses served at the same time, you must tell the server. We ate tagliatelle pasta at several restaurants in Italy and this was one of the better ones we had. We enjoyed a cannoli and a tiramisu for desert which was tasty. The server spoke some English and was attentive. There is an excellent gelato place next door which our kids loved as well.

Despite the strong reviews, for me this place is just OK. It is really focused on churning the tables and for me the food seemed somewhat mass produced. Service is very attentive and the servers are multi-lingual with good English making it easy as a tourist here. Also, they've got a really nice inner patio and because we were early for our reservation we were able to snag a table directly under a ceiling fan so even though the day was hot, it was reasonably comfortable. Their website does a good job artfully displaying their dishes although the hurried preparations didn't quite live up to the web images. Our food-antipasto platter (a mix of uninspiring things), house lasagne (nothing special) and fried lake fish were all fine, just nothing too special and nothing with any flair. Bottom line, perfectly acceptable food with friendly service.

The pizza is very good. If you can get a table in inner garden it is awesome. Very nice staff. The veal had ham in it and was a bit salty for me. Otherwise pizza was a good experience. There are other places with the inner garden also worth trying. Service was acceptable.

Nicely prepared fresh pasta with seafood. Perfect pasta, fresh salad and attentive staff. Worth a trip!

Hotel Astoria recommended Pappagallo if we were eating in town. It was amazing! We have traveled all over Italy, and it was some of the best food we have ever had in country, as well as some of the best, fastest service we have ever had as well. Our waiter Leo, was friendly, fun, and attentive. Mario, "the big boss," as they called him, was charming and quietly jovial, and we had fun sporadically chitchatting with them all night, especially the second night, because after the first night we had to eat there again! We ordered Pizza Mec and added ham... some of the best pizza I've ever had in Italy ... and lasagna. Lasagna was more cheesy based than we were used to but still delicious. The second night we ordered Pizza Mec again but this time the other dish was spaghetti carbonara. Wow!! Both were outrageously good!! Then, if that wasn't enough, for dessert we ordered Creme Meringue! ? We had never had it before, but it looked delicious in the display case. Wow again!! So very crazy delicious!! On the second night, after having such a great dining experience yet again, they kept bringing us lemon cello on the house. Fantastic! Highly, highly recommend!! Capped off two great nights in Stresa. Thanks Pappagallo!! Hope to see you again someday soon ...

Wonderful salad and salmon pasta, with freshly baked bread and good wine, served by friendly waiters under a pretty umbrella in the middle of the bustling town square. This restaurant, as so many in Italy do, serves the food quickly and efficiently but encourages relaxed dining and conversation, not bringing a check until you ask someone to do so. We will be back. Lovely experience.
