Taverna Greek Kitchen - Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Had dinner at Taverna Greek Kitchen in Souk Madinat and it was such a wonderful experience. The whole place has a beautiful, authentic aesthetic that instantly makes you feel like you’ve been transported to Greece, from the décor to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. I started with the fried calamari, which was perfectly crisp and full of flavour. For my main, I had the chicken breast with a creamy feta sauce and fasolada purée, and it was absolutely delicious, rich, comforting, and beautifully presented. To finish, I had the vanilla and pistachio ice cream, the perfect light and refreshing way to end the meal. The service was fantastic throughout, attentive without being intrusive. A must-visit spot if you’re craving authentic Greek food in a stunning setting.

Food was average, nothing really out of taste, but not much taste for the chicken breast either. We made a reservation and we specified to get an outdoor table by the water , when we shows up on time of our reservation, the hostess said that couldn’t provide the table because it was reserved earlier than our reservation. We understood and took the table they gave us in the middle , also we required to see options to get another table around the water when it’s possible. The hostess said that the table by the water was reserve @ 6:45 and ours at 6:00 pm still by 7:30 the table wasn’t occupied and when the people arrived the decided to change table and they did change the table and never were possible for us. I was very disappointed and didn’t also want to have wine because I could have had it anywhere else but we picked the restaurant for the water area and didn’t have the opportunity even though there were tables available. I ll not give a five star to this restaurant because the service wasn’t good enough and the ambiance was just right. Food was small and very low taste.

The food here is truly exceptional. Some of my standout favourites include the sea bass carpaccio, grilled octopus, mixed grill, and the perfectly cooked lamb chops. On our recent visit, the chef made a personal appearance at the tables, offering tailored recommendations that completely exceeded our expectations. This thoughtful gesture added a warm, personal touch to an already outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended for both the quality of cuisine and the impeccable hospitality.

Always a delight! Had to catch up with friends and what better ambience n food than Taverna.. loved the food n service as always 👍

He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. His recommendation for dessert was perfect — the highlight of our visit! Thank you, Jimmy, for making our evening so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Taverna Greek Kitchen at Souk Madinat Jumeirah offers a warm, authentic Greek dining experience in a picturesque setting. Situated along the waterfront promenade, the restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating with views of the tranquil waterways and the iconic Burj Al Arab. The ambiance combines rustic charm with modern elegance, featuring illuminated arches and a visible charcoal grill that adds to the lively atmosphere. Unfortunately little bit noisy with only 6/7 tables, I can’t imagine it was full. Workers are really good and they make you comfortable. We captured the ambiance and dishes in photos and videos to give you a better sense of what to expect. Take a look before you visit.

Fantastic in so many ways. Outdoor seating is perfect in this weather. Very charming and pleasant atmosphere. Food is great. Service is excellent! Fast, friendly, precise, no mistakes (even though they are full, each table was occupied, so they had a busy operation), they were attentive to the booking note I’ve mentioned when made a reservation that we celebrated our anniversary. They got us a nice little dessert on the house. It was very beautiful experience and I’m looking forward to coming back soon! Thank you ❤️
