Beautiful food in the centre of a quiet village in the Cypriot hills. We are so glad we stumbled on this place. Would highly recommend to all. Fantastic value for money with very welcoming staff.

Traditional taverna in the heart of the small village of Lofou, it's what you'd expect from a taverna with tasty food, a big menu, reasonable prices and a very attentive service. They offered us dessert in the end and it was such a lovely gesture that added to the lovely experience

I stopped by Taverna Kamares for an iced coffee whilst exploring Loufou. The staff were friendly, and there were some lovely places to sit and soak up the charming atmosphere. The iced coffee was absolutely sensational, and I would highly recommend stopping by and sampling either their drinks or food (or both!).

The food was decent but nothing particularly special. The prices were fair given the portion sizes. However, the salad was too cold—letting it sit outside the fridge for a bit longer would have improved its texture and flavor. The place was also very crowded; removing a table or two could make the dining experience more comfortable by providing more space between tables.

Avoid this place! Meze (for 25€!!! In Tala you can get it cheaper and first-class quality!) consists of a microwaved potato, ravioli with burnt cheese, at least day-old old, dry, and tasteless meat of all sorts (pork, chicken, lamb), salad from the fridge, frozen chicken meatballs, and old pasticcio (pasta was crunchy). The only tasty was the avocado-yogurt sauce and tea. We avoided desserts which probably saved us because we left the restaurants feeling heavy for a whole evening, unsure, if we would be sick or not. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has local vibes and a nice atmosphere. Such a shame and unpleasant surprise…

Overall we had a nice lunch experience at Taverna Kamares but there were some hits and misses among the dishes we tried. Firstly, kamares ravioli and Pasticcio thought they were tasty, they weren’t fresh as we could tell that they were reheated in the microwave. Some parts were very hot and some very cold which is a sign that they were microwaved. Also we were disappointed by the prawns saganaki which had more ouzo than the needed amount and we could only taste that and no other flavor. The kamares hallumi was one of our favorite dishes as it was unique and delicious. Further more we really enjoyed the mushroom risotto and the chicken. A big plus is that they have an open dessert buffet and the prices are very reasonable compared to the quantity of food. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. When we complained about the cold food they immediately brought as some other dishes without any additional charge. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Also a big plus is that though a Cypriot tavern it has numerous vegetarian options such as the risotto, the ravioli the hallumi and many more

We had a wonderful dinner with friends. The food and ambience of the restaurant was amazing and the service was excellent. The owner Xeniou (apologies if i have mispelt your name) was a fantastic host. Nothing was too much trouble and we are so grateful to him for accommodating a special table. We will definitely be back and if you are visiting Lofu then we highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Michelle and Philip, Ireland

This is one of 2 tavernas in the village. it's in the centre of the village. The family that own it are very friendly and hospitable. The setting is lovely with outdoor tables, food is good and very Greek, with free desserts. Also beers from the local microbrewery and local wines. They also have a souvenir shop and small snack/ cafe bar. The coffee is really good. I really recommend it. Prices very reasonable.
