I stumbled upon this place while attending a conference nearby. And loved it so much that I ate three meals here in 3 days. The food, service and ambience are excellent. I had the roast lamb which was tender and flavorful. The next day I had grilled fish branzini which was perfect in every respect, provided you like eating whole fish. It was fresh and crisp on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. Best of all, the staff and service was incredibly friendly. Especially for a single guest, they made me feel at home.

Google
10/10 WOW this place is amazing for young people come in after 7 for the table top dancing, napkin throwing, bumping music, and belly dancing. Perfect for large parties. Food is delicious and authentic! The staff is so amazing, very kind and attentive. Really enjoyed the lamb and the dessert platter was to die for if you don’t like overly sweet things!

My boyfriend is from Greece, so we had to check this place out. The food was delicious. We got the hummus, greens, lemon chicken, and crunchy zucchini. A tie between the chicken and zucchini for the best taste. They also have a belly dancer and throw napkins up in the air. Great food and entertainment. Service was great, but gave 4 stars because our water was empty for a while. We had to snag her to get a refill. You have to pay for parking in the garage, but the walk isn't far. Park on the 3rd floor and take the bridge over.

Google
What a wild place…honestly, the food was very good. The ambiance is fun, but a tad too loud if you ask me. They also trash perfectly good paper everywhere, which I think is a bit odd in 2024. Wine list is good, but a lot of wines were out of order.

Google
Delicious food, I mean the best pita bread and hummus I have ever eaten, as well as a wonderful gyro 🥙. Great customer service (if you get Jose… you’re welcome). Yummy drinks and amusing entertainment. I truly hope you #enjoy and I’m sure you’ll be back. We know we definitely need to be.

Mixed Experience at Taverna Opa Taverna Opa offers a lively atmosphere with Greek flair, but falls short in some aspects. The restaurant's vibrant ambiance, complete with traditional music and energetic patrons, creates an atmosphere of celebration. However, the noise level can be overwhelming, making it difficult to hold conversations comfortably. While the menu boasts a variety of Greek specialties, my dining experience was marred by overcooked dishes. Despite high hopes for succulent meat, my selection arrived disappointingly dry and overdone. It was evident that attention to detail in the kitchen was lacking, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Despite these shortcomings, Taverna Opa still offers a unique dining experience for those seeking a taste of Greece in a lively setting. However, improvements in noise management and culinary execution are necessary to elevate the restaurant to its full potential.

Google
The lambchops are phenomenal!!!!! They were suggested by our waiter Zach! I ordered them medium and kudos to the chef and manager! I honestly can say, it was, no exaggeration, the BEST meal I have Ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE!!! Out of all the food I have tried, in ALL the places I have visited in the world!!! It was the most flavorful, tender, juicy, melt in your mouth experience! I got lost in the flavor and it left my senses CRAVING MORE!!! Trust me!!! It will not dissapoint! The atmosphere was so pleasurable, and Zach, our waiter had an AWESOME personality! If you want a superior dining experience, with high quality food satisfaction and remarkable service, THIS is the place to go! Much thanks to Opas for an experience I will not forget! We will come again!

Google
I’ll start this off with the reason this place gets 4 stars rather than 5. The tables were too close together. I’ll also say that I went on Valentine’s Day which is probably a super busy day for them and the place was packed. I can’t blame the decision to put the tables that close together either because they have to be making money hand over fist. The food was phenomenal! They had a Valentine’s menu so you really didn’t have to make any decisions about what to get. There was this amazing cheese that they flamed up table side and people were going OPA crazy. My steak was more rare than I normally eat it but it still blew my socks off with flavor and tenderness. The steak was served with a rice that is the definition of layered flavor. Then a slice of baklava at the end which I will say this is the first time I have ever liked baklava. It was very very moist. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and very clean. The wait staff was awesome. I raised my hand one time to ask for something and it was like he read my mind and handed it to me in the same instant. I will be back. If you have read this much you should definitely go.

Yelp
You have to add this restaurant to your list if you're in the area! This is a true experience. It's pricey but the entertainment is worth it. So many people but the staff does a great job.

Thomas P.

Yelp
It's really surprising that there aren't many full service Greek restaurants in the area. I believe Opa and a place in Sandford are the only two. We went for lunch so we didn't get the music and belly dancing so this review is on the food only. We were one of 3 tables at opening. Service was prompt and friendly. Great staff. I started with the Not On Sunday cocktail which was a bourbon concoction and was absolutely delicious. A good pour as well. For the table we got the hummus and saganaki. The hummus was partially made in a mortar and then you get to bash it up more as you eat it. Best hummus ever. Seriously. Delicious. It also came with a generous plate of pita quarters and the pita were light and chewy. The saganaki was flambé tableside. There is never anything wrong with a charred piece of cheese. For lunch, the gyro was great. Better than takeout for sure! And huge. Served with fries. Honestly for about the same price as takeout. Wife had a real Greek salad (no lettuce) with delicious chicken. I had the Santorini Shrimp and orzo all cooked in a light tomato sauce. Fantastic. Prices are very good (unless you opt for the steaks). Food is great. Service great. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Well here we are breaking the fast for Orthodox Easter. Kind of a compromise since we both have Easter week off from work. Since my dear Queen Bee isn't much of a lamb fan and we were going away anyhow, I found this a short way up the road from our timeshare unit... We shared two apps for starters and from 1500-1800 it's happy hour! That means 2 for 1 beer, wine and cocktails, plus reduced price apps at the bar!!! We shared calamari as well as keftedes (think Greek version of meatballs). Both were fresh and well prepared. Calamari had both rings and tentacles; I love the latter. Queen Bee kinda conked out on getting a meal, so I guess I won't get the meat platter for two. Instead, I opted into the "roasted lamb board." That, oddly enough, consists of lamb...add pita, lettuce tomato and onion you can make your own Greek sammie...I did at least! Only problem: brown lettuce. Otherwise the lamb itself was nicely prepared, albeit a bit more rare than I'd get it in Greece. Queen Bee got some dolmades but since I've spent the last seven weeks eating twigs and sunflowers I only wanted meat. She said they were good so I'll leave it there. Meh... We were taken care of quite nicely at the bar by Max and Carlos. I felt like we almost got the red carpet. Funny side note: owner was sitting behind us with his family as they were celebrating Greek Easter. He started talking to us and I responded in Greek. After some chit chat and pleasantries, he offered us two Easter eggs and Easter wishes. Would we return again? Maybe but maybe not...it's definitely a tourist joint much like the entire islands of Mykonos and Santorini. All the kitsch and noise can go away, but at least I got a decent feed and a good welcome. That's what Greek hospitality is all about and what helps make me proud of my heritage. As the name says: "Opa!"

Samar R.

Yelp
OMG, this place is amazing. The food is delicious!! If you love lamb, definitely get the roasted lamb. It's so flavorful and the lemon potatoes are full of zest. Entertainment was awesome. Lots of great Arabic, Turkish, Greek, and other Mediterranean songs playing. Several birthday celebrations with lots of dancing on tables and napkins thrown into the air for extra jazz. I love this restaurant and can't wait to return!

Dee W.

Yelp
If you're looking for an interactive experience while you're enjoying your meal you have found your place. This restaurant puts on an amazing belly dancing experience and you are able to join experience. This place was the perfect restaurant for any large party we had 25 in our group and they accommodated us seamlessly. Everyones meal here was outstanding. Everything was really nice! Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're in the area.

Anatoli L.

Yelp
Visited restaurant for a dinner. We were happy to get a table outside so we would be able to have a conversation - the music was too loud inside. The food was okay, but really inconsistent. Hummus trio was very tasty, served with an ample amount of pita. Sample of the appetizers was okay. I had lamb chop as my main dish, and it was truly underwhelming - flavor, presentation, the whole dish was just mediocre. We had baklava for desert, and having visited Greece a few months ago, this was just bad - no comparison. If you like baklava, don't order this one. Service was good, prompt and attentive.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
We didn't know what to think of this place. Definitely took us by surprise when we walked in. The music was very loud and it's very festive. There's a live performance throughout the whole tavern, where it becomes sort of a joint experience with everyone. We ended up sitting outside because it was quieter and we weren't looking for that kind of ambiance, instead wanted to be able to talk and hear each other throughout our meal. So take note that if that's what you are looking for, this probably isn't the place for you. The food itself was mediocre. The gyro was OKAY and the hummus was also OK. The best part of it all was the Baklava, which we were told was made in-house. Overall, OK spot. If you're looking for a lively experience where food isn't the main goal, go for it. If you're looking for top-notch food, go elsewhere. Oh, avoid the spinach!! It was not good at all.

Nicole F.

Yelp
The food here was amazing - I got the chicken gyro with the ops fries, as well as calamari and octopus as appetizers. Everything was delicious, I would 100% eat here again. I will say it is a very loud environment and you should definitely make a reservation as it was pretty packed even on a Monday. They did have a belly dancer and the music was great. It's super cute inside too with string lights and a Greek Vibe. It was a very great place to go with a large group and it was very easy to split up the checks. They also validate parking which is awesome! 4 stars because they charge $2 for a side of tzatziki when it comes on the gyro. They also didn't bring out someone's soup until everyone was done with their entrees.

Jean Claire G.

Yelp
Its a fun place for special occasion like birthday. I observed that most people who dine here are big parties celebrating someones birthday. I went there for a friends birthday dinner and if you're looking for something fun then this is the place to be. They throw out a lot of napkins as part of the fun and they have belly dancers which is entertaining to see and lots of dancing is happening. Its very loud so its not a place to sit and talk. Honestly for the food it was alright. I got the lemon chicken and it taste good but nothing special. So 4 star for the fun night but I won't suggest dining here regularly for food. If you're looking for something different and fun, you won't get dissapointed.

Echo L.

Yelp
I went with a huge group so they give us a default group order. On the group menu, there's no mentioning of recommended size or price (see the photo as proof), so we had no clue what we are getting and just trusted the server's advice. The service speed is fast, and the food is good, but we ended up with a huge bill ($70-80 per person) and a lot of leftovers which most of us are leaving the second day and won't take it. This over selling idea is not very sustainable, especially since the majority of those are meats. The restaurant is also very loud, and we can barely hear each other at the table. They have big tables but the show and vibe is not family friendly (PG 14). And since the owner replied, I'll be more specific: the dancers wear short skirts, standing on the table, shaking "important parts", and throwing color papers. The dancers will also get down the table and get closer to you trying to interact (we were a business group, never requested dancers, just want to eat). Your judgement.

Dave B.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. Warm and greeting. A Simple menu that's easy to read and select from. Many of the Greek standard offerings. They have a full bar with many signature cocktails or Greek beer Mythos in the bottle. Delicious lamb chops that came with lemon potatoes and green beans. Very good! If you like Mediterranean flavor, this will hit the spot. OPA!

Lawrence U.

Yelp
Greek food orlando style. The place packs up quickly. Reservation is recommended. Wait staff is friendly. My favorite is the lamb shanks. Cooked right, balance of spices, tender and huge portion. The hype of this place - belly dancer, dancing on the table and napkins flying!!!

Yelp
The history of Taverna Opa on International Drive dates back to its opening in 2001. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its lively atmosphere, delicious Greek cuisine, and entertainment including belly dancing and plate smashing. Taverna Opa became a big deal because it offered a unique dining experience that was unlike any other in the area. The combination of great food, entertainment, and a fun atmosphere made it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Over the years, Taverna Opa has become a staple on International Drive and continues to attract visitors looking for a memorable dining experience.

Brittany M.

Yelp
Taverna Opa is QUITE the experience. Dancing on tables, belly dancers, throwing napkins EVERYWHERE, and lively music! There's nothing quite like it, and you're sure to have an amazing time! The food is equally great - the Saganaki (fried halloumi cheese) is always something that I seek out on any Mediterranean menu, and they do there's very well! I ordered the filet, which was decent, but I am so jealous of my boyfriend's rack of lamb it was so tasty. Not something we would typically order either, so I'm upset I missed out highly recommend ordering that! All in all, if you're looking for a fun night that branches outside of your normal dinner plans, this is THE spot to go to!

Rose D.

Yelp
It's clear why this gem not only survived the pandemic but continues to thrive. Everything is fresh and bursting with flavor, and the service is always warm and attentive. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and high quality. Every time my family and I dine here, I'm always impressed and leaving happy and satisfied. If you're looking for GREAT Greek food, this spot never lets you down!

Eddie H.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 8:30pm. Sat us 10 minutes earlier. My wife had a great view but I had to turn completely around to see the dancing. The staff was great as they were very busy. My biggest complaint was it is the loudest restaurant I have ever went to. I could not say anything unless I yelled to the waiter and half the time I just nodded my head because they repeatedly said it 3X. Now the food the house hummus was outstanding!!! The meatballs were cold and would have been better if I could have dipped them in some sauce. Meatballs were just below average. Both of us ordered gyros. They were both great and the fries were perfect. The pitcher of sangria had more ice than liquid. Not worth $42 for the pitcher. I make a better one at home. I'm glad this place was above the blue martini for an after dinner drink. I see why the large crowds but both me and my wife said we would not come back. The total bill was not that expensive after ordering a lot.

Bobbi B.

Yelp
Per usual service was great, fun atmosphere! And the toddler in our group was amazed and very occupied Had many cocktails a table shot and all dined on magical dining. 4 if the group had the lamb chops and dine on Branzino. Our server was stellar (I'm sorry o have forgotten her name) and she was so accommodating with the toddler in our group - immediately brought some pita and as soon as we ordered she brought out the kids meal - I'm not even sure how they had time to make it! It also was a fantastic place to dine with a child so was so entertained but the belly dancer and the throwing of napkins. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had so many leftovers

Emily F.

Yelp
My coworkers and I had a crazy (awesome) time at Taverna Opa! When we walked in, we were greeted by napkins flying in the air, upbeat music, and groups of folks dancing around the restaurant. The atmosphere is so lively and fun! Our lovely waiter Zach told us that they love to celebrate any and every occasion at Taverna Opa! We started our meal with a bottle of Zoe red table wine to share. It was delicious so we ended up ordering a second bottle! Zach also recommended that we try the Saganaki (cheese flamed tabeside). It was presented beautifully and paired with tasty pita bread. For our entrees, we ordered the lamb chops and Santorini shrimp (both recommended by Zach). The lamb was a little tough but tasty. It sat on a bed of rice that was a bit overcooked for my liking. It was paired with green beans that were served in a sauce I didn't really care for. The Santorini shrimp, however, was fresh and delicious! We were greeted at our table by a belly dancer that encouraged us to get up and dance with her! Zach also led us in a Greek line dance around the restaurant that was SO fun! All the while, guests were throwing paper napkins in the air & shouting Opa! It was a party!! Toward the end of our dinner, the manager Alex greeted our table and asked how our meal and experience was. We told him we were having a fantastic time! Shoutout to our server Zach who also handled our complicated split checks with ease. I highly recommend Taverna Opa for a unique and exciting dinner experience!

Jungwon K.

Yelp
I came in for a late dinner with a group from work and we had no idea what to expect. The music was loud and there were dancers! We were greeted by lots of kind servers and we had such a great time. We decided to do a round of shots and they brought out a sparkler and cheered us on. We ordered the saganaki and octopus for starter, and both dishes were delicious. The octopus had a smoky flavor that paired so well with the capers. For my main, I ordered the shrimp dish and the portion size was huge! The shrimp was so well charred and the rice was incredibly flavorful. The food here was insane and I will definitely be back the next time I am in Orlando. Highly recommend!

Amanda C.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! We went for the bite 30 menu during lunch. We were greeted promptly and seated right next to this awesome tree in the middle of the restaurant. The food was fantastic. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Portions were generous and there was plenty of food to take home! The dessert was excellent! I was happy to try something new. Lunchtime was not crowded but I was loving the music they were playing and it was like we had rented the place out! Very cool! Our waitress did tell us that the vibe totally changes later in the evening at the restaurant with the dancers and napkins being thrown around and celebrating. I may just have to go back for that! Good food and a good time?!! Yes please! Opa!!! Parking tip: park on the 3rd floor of the pointe Orlando parking garage and then use the walkway to walk right over to the restaurant. Glad I called ahead to ask!

Richard G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed sitting at the bar drinking Greek beer. The beer was a pilsner clean and crisp. Lamb ribs are not an everyday menu item. They were very delicious but they came out with loads of fat so be warned. I just loved the octopus appetizer, soft and succulent sliced octopus in a olive oil and red wine vinegar with sliced red onions and capers. I only wish the lemon potatoes came out hot but alas they did not and was too hungry to send them back. There was some sort of show going on so it was very, very loud at the bar. I will be coming back to try the lamb chops.

Aliz S.

Yelp
So I don't review unless it's super good or super bad! This place... C'mon.. it's incredible. The experience, the food, the service! TOP NOTCH! The owner, Victor, comes out n makes sure everything was perfect, and it was. He seated us, he made sure we are happy! The ambiance was incredible, happy, friendly, family oriented, birthday celebration perfected! My sons 18th bday was PERFECT! THANK YOU OPA! I'm coming back, and bringing friends!

Zamira E.

Yelp
Delicious Roasted Lamb coocked to perfection portions are adequate for one person and there's options for kids as well

Laura G.

Yelp
I had a fun time dining at Taverna Opa. The energy of the restaurant is excellent. It's a big party and everyone feels welcome. To try a variety of items we started with the Hot Meze Appetizer Platter and the hummus trio. I loved the freshness of the trio and would order it again. The platter came with lamb ribs, wings, calamari, spanakopita and keftedes. The flavors were delicious!!!...but it was served lukewarm and somewhat dried out. Afterwards the table all ordered different entrees. Since I was already feeling kind of full I decided to go with the mussels appetizer. The mussels were presented beautifully in a rich sauce that was so good that you will go through several pieces of pita just to soak it up. The drinks were inconsistent. Its possible that they had two bartenders with different ideas on how to make the same cocktail...? Since the drinks were off of their cocktail menu the inconsistency was disappointing...but not for long because like I said ..the energy in the room is fun and upbeat.

MY V.

Yelp
I've always wanted to dine here and was able to come here to celebrate a birthday dinner. They do validate your parking but you'll still have to pay $2, which isn't bad. Pretty decent menu. I ordered a Santorini Mule, which was good and strong. As for food, I ordered the lamb chops that came with lemon potatoes and green beans. I only ordered the lamb chops because I wanted to try the lemon potatoes, and they were very good. The lamb chops were well cooked as well and tasty. They were a bit small, but filling for me. If you do bring your own cake they do charge a fee per person, which was kinda expensive for having to cut your own cake at a restaurant. They do have a belly dancer that comes out at around 7pm to put on a show I believe. Fun environment for a group of people and good entertainment. Staff were friendly.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Amazing dinner and entertainment!! So glad we tried it out while on vacation. My children loved the belly dancing and napkin throwing. In regards to the food, it was excellent. We ordered the Greek salad, but paid extra for lettuce since it's not traditional to be included and we also got the dolmades. They were served cold and I prefer them warm vs. cold, but like them both ways. Either way they were still good. My daughter got the chicken kabob which was HUGE. My husband got the steak kabob also large portion and very tender. I got the traditional pita beef/lamb gyro. It was packed full of Greek goodies and very tasty. I really wanted to try the cheese that's flame toasted table side, but my family wasn't interested. Once they saw someone else order it then they changed their minds, but we had already placed our appetizer order. Maybe next time. When in Orlando, I will definitely go back. My only complaint is the parking. Placed my reservation on open table and would've preferred to know in advance that the parking was a block away in a garage. It was fine for us, but I could see someone that's handicapped struggling. Otherwise had a blast.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Taverna Opa is a fantastic Greek restaurant, but given that it's in Orlando, it should come as no surprise that there's a show involved with some theatricality. First off, the food is excellent and we've had numerous dishes over the years including galaktoboureko, steak, branzino, saganaki, hummus, and salads. The food has always been flavorful and cooked perfectly and everything you'd want in a good Greek meal (the best we've had in the area). The entertainment is provided by belly dancers, Greek music, dancing on tables, sparklers, and lots and lots of napkin throwing. It's truly a blast and you can't come here and not have a great time. It's one place that we go every time we're in Orlando and we definitely recommend coming here!

Ana G. B.

Yelp
We came to Taverna Opa for my friend's bachelorette and it was so much fun! Servers are fun and belly dancers are super friendly. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the food was a little overpriced for what you get. But I would say you come here mostly for the fun experience! Definitely the spot to be if you want a loud and entertaining dinner!

Blake M.

Yelp
Went here for lunch today with a gift card. It's a nice place down on I-Drive. I definitely want to check it out during a Friday/Saturday night when it's a little rowdy. My wife and I shared a Greek salad that was delicious. I usually don't like feta cheese but theirs was very good. I ordered the lamb chops and they were pretty damn good. They were a little expensive and I probably wouldn't order it normally. My wife had a gyro and fries that she liked. Service was good and they had indoor and outdoor seating. I'll be back for sure, hopefully to party!

Abha A.

Yelp
The food is absolutely incredible! Delicious and flavorful. Must check out this spot!

Maryrose D.

Yelp
Wow where do I begin. This place is a 10/10! The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and it was sooo fun. This might not be the place for you if you like quiet dining for dinner. I was here for a team dinner that was family style. We started with some hummus and pita as a snack. The hummus was authentic and not like the creamy stuff you see st grocery stores. It was rustic served in a wooden mortar and pestle. The pita was warm and soft. Heaven!!! Our first course was a platter of cold dips. It was a platter with an eggplant dip called MELITZANOSALATA, a cucumber Greek yogurt dip called TZATZIKI, a lemon cod dip called TARAMA and lastly grape leaves filled with rice called Dolmades. Also a Greek salad. The next course was hot appetizers with SPANAKOPITA, Greek meatballs, lamb ribs, calamari, and chicken wings. The last course was various beef tenderloin, pork loin, chicken breast, lamb chops and veggies. The food was amazing... ALL OF IT. Super flavorful, and meat was so tender! There wasn't anything served that I didn't like. While we were eating there was plenty of entertainment. There was music, belly dancers, Zorba dancing, napkins being tossed in the air like confetti. It was so lively and fun. I had a smile ear to ear the whole time. After some research I saw that the belly dancing and Zorba dancing is at dinner and starts at 7. Overall it was a great experience. I wish I had taken more photos but I was just too excited to eat. If you are in Orlando, definitely check it out.

Kais A.

Yelp
We loved this place, so much that we showed up two days in row. Great food, great people and great atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner at Taverna Opa! I've been to the chain before and it's a great combo of wonderful food and a cool experience. Imran was a wonderful server who timed it all right for us. I would. One back again in a heartbeat!

Michelle F.

Yelp
Food was great , service not so much. There was only one other table occupied in the entire restaurant and we still had to wait a long time for our food. The server behaved as if his life was meaningless and was asking himself why was he there. Barely a smile.

Deisa M.

Yelp
Came for Valentine's Day, my husband picked this spot not because it's romantic but because we wanted to try something different. This place is very loud and has a great atmosphere. If you do not like loud places for dinner - maybe not the best or eat on their outdoor area. I didn't mind and it just made the restaurant experience all the better. I ordered the lamb and Branzino, wow -- absolutely to die for! Above our expectations considering how much of a touristy restaurant this is - in the heart of I-drive. Hoping to comeback again soon for a birthday celebration.

Annie N.

Yelp
It's my first time coming here and I had a pretty large party, which they took care of very well. Our servers were nice and attentive despite the large group. I ordered the gyro/fries and it was delicious. The fries were cooked great; crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The table also ordered hummus and pita which were amazingly flavorful. I liked the atmosphere of this restaurant because it's really festive and fun! I would definitely like to come here again!

Jim W.

Yelp
Pretty cool atmosphere, the hummus appetizer was delicious. I ordered the whitefish, it was a whole fish with bones so it was difficult to eat, too many bones. The rice and spinach sides were very good. Overall 4 stars, but next time I'll order the chicken kabobs and avoid the bone in fish.

Erica M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is appealing, inviting and exciting. The food is delicious and the staff is by far the best.

Natali B.

Yelp
Stopped in for their happy hour and got $5 meatballs and $7 calamari along with a few drinks. I had gin and tonic for $7. We were in the middle of going from happy hour to dinner service around 5pm so there was around 20-30 servers and about 10 customers in the whole restaurant. What looked like the manager was also sitting down having a beer at the bar, and asking why x employee didn't show up today. Kinda odd but overall good food experience.

Megan J.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Taverna Opa & I think it was a great experience. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night as a party of 7 and made prior reservations, so we got seated fairly quickly. I would recommend making reservations before visiting because it was packed. We were looking for a good meal before our movie at 8:30 & were seated outside in the patio (for colder months, they have heaters and plastic covering the windows so you can stay warm). And we were SO glad we did because inside it was a party. Inside was loud with lively music, belly dancers, napkins being thrown in the air and people dancing on tables. We were able to enjoy that atmosphere from afar, still hear the music and have conversations at our table without screaming. The belly dancers did come outside so I was glad we were able to enjoy the show! We ordered Sangria (a good amount of alcohol and very fruity) appetizers; the flaming cheese, spanakopita, Hummus trio (the hummus was amazing, my favorite thing we ordered!) and Calamari. For dinner we ordered; the Poseidon seafood platter for 2 (my friends said it was fantastic), Pastitsio & Gyro platter with fries (I ordered the gyro with lamb and it was flavored very good). All of our food came at the same time, our waiter was nice and we always had water. He checked on us multiple times & the food was delicious. The whole table enjoyed what they ordered. For dessert we got the baklava and the custard. The food was pricey, but since it's in Point Orlando & there's a show, I understand that it'll be a little more expensive then other mom and pop Greek restaurants we've been to in the past. If you're looking for a party at dinner time definitely come here and sit inside! The food was good and glad I came!

Yelp
Be cautious if you decide to order drinks here. I visited Taverna Opa Orlando on 6/12/24 for dinner and had a disappointing experience at the bar. Despite having a reservation, our table wasn't ready, so we went to the bar to wait. I ordered a rum and coke, inquiring about the available rums. The bartender mentioned Mount Gay, which I expected to come with a slight upcharge compared to other well-known brands. However, to my surprise, I was served a drink made with 1703, a $230 bottle of rum, without being informed beforehand. The bill came to over $50 for one drink besides tip, which was definitely not what I anticipated at a bar where regular beers are around $5. This unexpected situation left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. While the rest of the experience was fine, the lack of transparency and communication at the bar was disappointing. Be cautious if you decide to order drinks here.

Yelp
O M G!! This place is amazing. The food was delicious. The servers were beyond helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Happy hour is enough to bring people in but the dancing and celebrations as the evening goes on is the true attraction. We had such a fun night with great food. One of the best family dinners during an Orlando visit.

Yelp
Taverna Opa is an absolute party! First thing you should know is that parking is difficult. There is valet parking for $16, but is very slow. There is also a parking garage just past it that fills quickly. Make sure you get there early. The restaurant is extremely noisy so be aware. If you are going for a quiet dinner and want to hear the people at the table, this isn't the place to go. Now the good news. This place is a blast. It is a lot of fun. The music blasts loud and people dance. The belly dancer makes her way around the room and may even end up on your table. Napkins flying everywhere. The food is terrific. We had the hummus and pita apps as well as the burnt cheese. Fantastic and very fresh. I had the gyro pita and the meat was delicious. My wife had the chicken kabobs which were great. My sister in law enjoyed the fish and my son, basically a mac/cheese snob, ranked it Top 5 as one of his favorites. The Greek salads were spectacular and the shrimp is great. We followed up dinner with dessert downstairs. Perfect evening. Opa!!

Yelp
Opa! Greekish / Mediterranean / Cabaret and a whole lot more. I was in Orlando for a trade show and was invited to a large dinner with a group of other business people and the host picked this spot for a night of food, drinks and entertainment. Taverna Opa bills itself as Greek / Mediterranean / Seafood and it does have all of that, plus a dj, belly dancing and a whole lot of napkins getting tossed in the air on a pretty regular basis. This is not the place to take your date for an intimate night out. This is definitely geared towards parties and larger get togethers where everyone is going to be drinking, yelling and standing on tables. Not sure about the belly dancing and how that relates to anything on the Med side of things, to me that was always more of a middle East thing, but they have belly dancing nonetheless. There are a lot of rounds of watered down ouzo shots where the entire table (20 in our case) stand up on the tables / chairs and do shots under a snow-storm of cocktail napkins tossed in the air. The party doesn't stop in this place is all I can say. The food is actually not bad at all considering how gimmicky it is. The drinks are well made and that belly dancer ain't half bad either. All in all a fun night out but forget talking altogether- I could barely speak the guy next to me, that's how loud it was. Place is larger than it looks and the bathrooms were clean. Cannot speak to cost as I was a guest. Give it a whirl if in the area and looking for a fun couple of hours

Yelp
Visited for magical dining and had THEE WORST experience. Our waitress Fiorella was HORRIBLE. She rushed our group to order and was dismissive when we requested recommendations. She disappeared for long times and did not check on us. She returned smelling of cigarette smoke. Victor came over after we paid and planned to leave. He attempted to fix the issue but it was too far gone. We ordered calamari 6/10 we asked for sauce and received lemons Zucchini Chips 10/10, spinach pie I didn't try, Greek donuts 4/10 didn't like the sauce but the balls were pretty good, Filet Mignon 7/10 it was flavorful but undercooked. I say try it out the atmosphere and drinks are great!

Yelp
This was literally the most chaotic restaurant ambiance I've ever seen. We came on a Monday night (with a reservation) and the music inside sounded like a nightclub at 1am. For that reason, we opted to sit outside. There was one other party outside when we came and a few others came and went during our time there so it wasn't crowded but not dead either. And yet, the service slow as molasses for our party of 8. It took forever for the waitress to bring us waters and take our order, then for the food to come out (we were over 30 mins deep by the time she took our entree order when the apps came out). And besides dropping off food, the server was nowhere to be found. We waiting to get our check after everyone was done for 45 mins. The music kept increasing in volume incrementally too. There was belly dancing and sirens. A few of us went inside to use the bathroom and find the waitress, and there were 3 groups total in there: 2 bachelorette parties - one with a man spinning a chair, a woman on a table, and a server raining napkins down on them for some reason and one group taking shots near a "stage" situation (???) ; and the third group inside was parents with a baby in a stroller. A newborn. The floor covered in napkins. The music raging. Everything from oldies (sweet Caroline) to Bollywood to electronic and more. I hope this gives you a good idea of what this was like but I guarantee you can't even fully understand the chaos. Oh and the food was mediocre at best. Skip this one unless it's your bachelorette party I guess?

Yelp
What a GREAT TIME! The food was great and the dancing/music was so fun on a Friday night! Service was quick and attentive. Would definitely go back! Great for large groups!

Yelp
Definitely a touristy place to go to. It's fun if you are there for a celebration of like a birthday or just wanted to hang out with a bunch of your friends. The staff are friendly, but disappointed really about the food. It's definitely a upscale club food with music and sparklers and tons of napkins being thrown up in the air. Overall I was just underwhelmed.

Yelp
Loud and entertaining atmosphere for magical dining. The only place I know where its ok to dance on tables and chairs. We went on a Friday night and it seemed like everyone was having a birthday. People were pouring shots and blowing out desserts on top of tables. The belly dancers were dancing all night. It was very much the club vibe. Definitely make reservations. This seemed like the only restaurant booming in Pointe Orlando. We went for magical dining and lamb chops were on point. The falafel was good as well as the desserts including baklava. Definitely a fun entertaining environment but not good for conversation. The music was booming all night. They will validate your parking but you have to pay $2 credit card to leave the parking lot. Remember to get the slip from the waitress.
