The food is amazing. Had a Sopa de Cação that was very tasty and well made. The restaurant offers a balcony with a beautiful view as far as the eye can see. Greatly recommend having lunch here and then visit the castle where the restaurant is located. I also found the staff friendly.

OMG! The view from this medieval fortress to Spain across the water is so breathtaking you could eat an overdone hot dog on a dessicated bum and not complain. But the food is every bit as good as the view, including the best lamb ever and a delightful "salad of the land," accompanied by a smooth, full-bodied Monsaraz Reserve vino tinto. Sublime!

We loved this place. There were seven of us on a bike trip and we were in Monsaraz for two nights. It has an outdoor patio with a spectacular view, food to match the view, and an excellent wait staff. We went back the next day for lunch and our experience was just as good. We would have eaten there a second night but our bike company had us booked at another place. If you are in Monsaraz, do yourself a favor - make a reservation. We spent 22 days in Portugal - this was one of our favorite restaurants.

Stellar views and wonderful food.
Seems to get very busy so recommend booking in advance. If you want to take chances like we did you can join a wait-list on the day (we were lucky to get a terrace table after about a 45 min wait but I'm not sure that would happen every day)

Best meal with a view! Food was a bit pricey here and took a bit long to come out but it was delicious and very generous portions. One portion was enough for two people. The view is unmatched to any other restaurant. Highly recommended the cod fish here.

We visited this beautiful restaurant on a busy Sunday afternoon. The views from the terrace are outstanding. Service was excellent, with friendly staff and head waiter who spoke excellent English.
Our food was of a high standard, with good wine. I enjoyed the Roast Lamb whilst my husband enjoyed the Pig Cheeks.
Thank you all for making our trip to Monsaraz so very special, would definitely recommend this superb restaurant.
