Excellent service and very nice relaxed atmosphere. The village was recommended by my accommodation owner. I was disappointed because there was nothing special to visit or see in the village but I noticed that there were many restaurants and bar here. Initially I wanted to go another restaurant but that place was closed so I dined in this Taberna. Young male staff were extremity kind. We ordered a mixed meat grill and a half liter of red wind which were 27.50 euro in total (!). The meat was huge portion, super tasty juicy and tender. It was not so cold but the fireplace was on. Highly recommended.

My fave place for food when I visit. I always get the chicken with okra - and I don’t even like okra! This is the only time I eat it. I tried it off a friends’ plate once and it changed everything. The portions are EXTREMELY generous. Massive plates of food. Staff are good hard-working people. Good prices. They provide kerasma each time and I also recommend the carob flavoured ice cream. It’s a local brand and very local flavour as carobs are plentiful in the region. View is lovely under the trees that provide excellent shade in the summer.

Stumbled upon this place while driving to our hotel and decided to stop for dinner. Great seating and wonderful atmosphere. The town is also amazing with tons of restaurants and bakeries. The service was quite slow. It took forever to get our drinks and even longer for our food. We weren’t in a rush or anything, but would have liked to get our food a bit quicker. Food was tasty, we got the mixed grill and Cretan salad, delicious!

There are certainly better places to lunch at Vryses. Maybe our bad experience was due to the Covid situation and stock problem but the meat was extremely dry, our appetizers were served at the same time as the main courses. The place is beautiful though.

Windy road up a mountain but beautiful village. Had the best Greek coffee

One of the best meals we had in Crete. Chicken and lamb on spit are amazing! Very local setting in a small village

We had lunch here, salad, pork chops, village sausages and draft beer. It was delicious, big serves and good prices. It is a lovely setting under the trees on the river bank, with many ducks swimming nearby Highly recommend.

Very nice, peaceful and quiet atmosphere, 30min from chania city center (by car). Tasty food, however, they don't have many vegetarian options.
