We accidentally stumbled upon this place and it ended up being perhaps one of my favorite restaurant experiences of my entire time on Crete. The food was authentic and delicious, the atmosphere was the most picturesque charming scene, and the service was so genuine. I will think about this place for a long time!

A very cute place with a tranquil atmosphere. They have seating under the trees by a river where there is a nice sounding waterfall. Inside there is an old style bar with traditional Greek music playing. We loved this hidden gem and will be back.

Windy road up a mountain but beautiful village. Had the best Greek coffee

There are certainly better places to lunch at Vryses. Maybe our bad experience was due to the Covid situation and stock problem but the meat was extremely dry, our appetizers were served at the same time as the main courses. The place is beautiful though.

We had lunch here, salad, pork chops, village sausages and draft beer. It was delicious, big serves and good prices. It is a lovely setting under the trees on the river bank, with many ducks swimming nearby Highly recommend.

Very nice, peaceful and quiet atmosphere, 30min from chania city center (by car). Tasty food, however, they don't have many vegetarian options.

Tavern looks very traditional, oldschool. There was a fire burning inside all the time, which made it cozier. The food was prepared quickly and was quite tasty. Portions were big enough for one to eat. We tried gyros, fried cretan cheese and tzatziky.

The food was delicious, the waiters were great, and spoke some English too. I had moussaka the first time and I had such a wonderful meal that I went back again on a different night and had gyro. It was the best gyro I have ever had and the strawberry ice cream was the best too. Highly recommend!
