Taverna Pupo

This was our second visit here. We ordered traditional food, gnocchi and Pasticada, it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and excellent service makes this place really special. Our waiter Fran was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!

The food is soooo delicious and the atmosphere is great. There might have been a small mistake with the drink order, but it’s totally fine because the service was excellent. Definitely a place you should visit!

Lovely eatery, the fish soup is delectable.A delicate broth lightly seasoned. Tuna tartare was the best! The dish is served with gently toasted bread, however, the tartare is best eaten on its own. We also order the gin and tonic and Pina Colada. Our waiter, V, was most helpful.

Nice food and Awsome service! Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time while dining at Taverna Pupo! I ordered the truffle risotto, which was ok. Not too much going on, but it wasn’t bad. Just not the most exciting, i think the fact that there are freshly shaved truffles on top makes the owners think that its enough. But frankly the taste was flat. My girlfriend had the clam risotto which was way more flavorful and very good. Perfectly cooked clams and a deep, oriental flavor from the stock. Nice job. We also had a bottle of white wine Pošip which was quite cheap but very balanced and great value. Also, the wait was a bit too long for my liking. Around 35/40 minutes is a bit too long for my me. I want to give a special thanks to Jakob/yakob for the great service. The reason for the score is not to be mean. Im comparing you to all of my dining experiences around the world. Unfortunately Croatia just has not really delivered. Price wise aswell as quality wise. But you guys stood out as one of the better ones!👍🏼 Overall I am satisfied and would recommend. Thank you!

Well located restaurant in a very hot, stuffy little side street. Friendly staff but not really that helpful. We had Pasticada, which should have been soft and tender (cooked for 18hrs apparently)! But, it was tough as old boots. Their solution was to give me a sharper knife! Great sauce though. Just wish they'd cared a bit more.

We had such a great evening at Taverna Pupo in Dubrovnik. It’s a cozy little spot, perfect for a romantic dinner. My wife and I shared homemade gnocchi and seafood pasta — both were fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best we had on our trip. What really made the night special was our waiter, Jacob. He was kind, attentive, and helped create such a relaxed, romantic atmosphere without ever being over the top. Just a genuinely great experience all around

We decided to try Pupo as my son and I were walking through the Old Town. Our server was friendly and attentive enough. The Sauvignon blank (only one on the wine list by the glass) was outstanding. I had the catch of the day which was sea bass (yesss!) and my son had the lobster tagliatelle. Best sea bass I’ve had in a long time. The Swiss chard and eggplant accompaniments made the dish. My son’s pasta was very good but he did have to deal with the lobster in the shell which made it a messy meal. In a pasta, the lobster should be shelled for you. Bread was free but we had to ask for it. We sat in the alley seating so it was nice and quiet with a nice breeze. Overall I give it a 4.4 out of 5. Would recommend!

Incredible food, the cheese plate was a wonderful experience and highlighted the traditional cheeses of Croatia. Our server was very attentive and kind. Definitely must try when In the area.
