"Taverna the old perithia" Kassaris Alkinoos

Up in Old Perithia, there’s a few restaurants to choose from, all within 10 meters of each other basically. This one wasn’t too packed, but had a nice view of the hills and old buildings, so we went with it. The food was okay. It definitely felt homemade. I don’t know hoooow fresh everything was given the location of the restaurant and felt like they don’t get that many customers a day. The Rabbit Stifado was good and the rabbit was quite delicious. Very tender onions and a lot of sauce. It was nice. The Souvlaki felt a bit sad so I would say that was a miss. The salad with orange, olive, and lettuce was amazing. It was our first time trying this Corfiot salad and I would definitely recommend trying it here, or at other restaurants on the island. The other appetizer was okay. The sauce was a bit broken and it felt like it may have been microwaved lowkey.

😋. I’ve always wanted to try a salad with fresh oranges and olives, and now I have — wow! Bursting with flavor, fresh, and absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommend this gem in Old Perithia!

Oldest restaurant in Corfu. Family owned. In the oldest town in Corfu. Lots of history. The food is superb. We tried saganaki, dolmadaki (leafs are picked from the grape vine canopy in the dining area!) and a traditional beef dish cooled in garlic stew. Everything was delicious. The prices are good. The service felt personal and attentive. Highly recommend eating here. One of the hidden gems of Corfu.

Unique experience in Old Perithia. We loved the grilled mushrooms, the spicy peppers, the beetroot and the local grilled sausage as starters. As mains we had the pasta with pork and beef, mixed salad and moussaka. Highly satisfied we stumbled back to our nice place in the same village. What a great place!

Beef with okra was delicious, however the rest (burger and pork souvlaki) is mediocre. Prices are really nice comparing to other places on Corfu. Maybe for this price it deserves a 5 star rating, but I usually consider taste and service first.

A Hidden Gem in Old Perithia Absolutely Worth Finding! We had an unforgettable experience at The Old Perithia Taverna. From the moment we arrived, the charm of the location took our breath away. Set right in the heart of the village square, surrounded by history and mountain views, it is truly special. The food was simply outstanding, fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish tasted like it was made with love and tradition. The service was equally impressive, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making my family feel like at home. A tip for first-time visitors: there are four restaurants in this charming little village. When you arrive, pass the first ones you see and head to the left and you will find The Old Perithia Taverna. If you are visiting Corfu and want authentic Greek cuisine in a truly magical setting, make sure this is on your list. We will definitely be back.

Our best experience in Corfu yet! Well worth the trip to Perithea, an experience on its own. We had two appetizers, two salads & two mains - accompanied by their very fragrant home made wine and home made ginger ale. We must mention a the Tsiganaki - leafy greens from the mountains & rabbit stifado. Everything was delicious, a true traditional tavern. MUST TRY!
