Taverna Trastevere Milano

We had an amazing experience at Taverna Trastevere in Milan. As a starter, we ordered focaccia with ham and ricotta, which was absolutely delicious. For the main course, we chose pumpkin risotto and pasta in tomato sauce with pork cheeks. The risotto was very good, but unfortunately my pasta was much fattier than I expected. Because of that, I couldn’t finish the dish, even though the sauce itself tasted great. Most likely, it just wasn’t the best choice for a main course. For dessert, we tried traditional Roman buns with cream. They were very simple, yet incredibly delicious 😍 Overall, the experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and the open kitchen—where dishes are prepared right in front of the guests—adds a special touch. Definitely a great place to visit in Milan.

The best dining experience we’ve experienced so far in Italy. We’ve dined in several places and they have been great but then our hotel recommended this place and what a mind blowing experience. The chef(s) really know how to combine the flavors and make dishes come together. Alex, our waiter and the rest of the staff, were absolutely amazing. The service was top notch, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended it! Stay away from restaurants at the Duomo.

I came for Sunday lunch and was seated right away. The restaurant filled while I was dining. This isn’t a tourist place. I went with my server Nora’s pasta recommendation, the rigatoni amatriciana (tomato-based, spicy pork cheek). I enjoyed it, not too fatty. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate semifreddo. You won’t want to rush it. I enjoyed it while sipping over two different Amaros (yes, it’s quite rich and you’ll need something to wash it down.) I took my time and never felt rushed, as a solo person, as an English-speaking American, and as a woman. Thank you sincerely for the hospitality. —- I downgraded my 5 rating to a 2 because I got sick four hours later, not eating or drinking anything else. I saw another reviewer state she also got sick. I think in my case this is due to the pork. They have their own pastry chef, who did a really good job, and that’s only reason why I’m not giving a 1. Food cleanliness is a basic need.

It was our fist time and Alex served and entertained us tonight. We had something really special tonight which was the white truffle pasta (truffles from Alba). The food was excellent and spot on and we recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Italian cuisine. Breads were homemade and amazing and dessert extremely good

Everything was great: the food was excellent, the wine recommendation was spot on, and the service was fast and genuinely friendly. Great atmosphere without any pretentious vibe. Highly recommend.

Excellent service and fantastic food. Staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We had 2 starters as well as pastas and desserts, all paired with a great wine selection. All dishes were full of flavour, well presented and great portion sizes! The restaurant overall has a very vibrant and relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back for another great meal!

Food was amazing. They had gluten free pasta and tirimisu. Service and vibes were phenomenal. The bean soup is unexpectedly delicious! Our server Alex was amazing as well.

We arrived without reservation on Friday night and luckily got a table for two. Sat downstairs. The atmosphere was very romantic and service was excellent. Would highly recommend to reserve in advance to avoid disappointment. The grilled octopus was exceptional. A diverse menu. Fruit panettone rounded off a lovely meal.
