"About an hour’s drive from Stockholm in Nykvarn lies Taxinge Slott, which touts itself as having “Northern Europe’s largest kakbord (cake table)” with over 60 varieties of home-baked desserts, pastries, and other fikabröd. Also known as the “Cake Castle,” everything is baked locally with no artificial ingredients or semi-manufactured products and each item has a moniker like Treasure Chest, Gemmy, or Almond Flower. Once you're stuffed, you can explore the castle's beautiful gardens and grounds to burn off those calories."

Very good second hand shop in the Building by the entrace. The cake buffé is huge and you are paying by the item, not a fixed price. Cozy atmosphere to sit inside or outside. Drink as much coffee as you wish. Walk around is Nice and there is a small sandy beach as well.

A must visit cafe, very well crafted cakes and sweets. During summer expect a long queue and waiting time. The indoors seat is very cozy during winter.

I mean, it’s quite unique, but the pastry has a bit too much sugar so tends to taste the same. Apart from that, the castle is amazing, the gardens are worth a long walk, the large variety of sweet options is funny (difficult to choose!) and the price is reasonable. Will repeat? Not really, I do prefer a local konditori (enough options to choose, better quality), but it’s a must visit at least once, that for sure.

Plenty of great cakes and treats available. Grab a tray and pick up the things you want on your way to the cashier, unfortunately there are no prices marked and they are pricey, once you are at the cashier you can order food. You'll be given a number and told to come back in 5 min but after 15 min they still didn't have the salad ready. On weekends the place is packed and you might end up 2h in queue to order.

Here everyone will definitely find “fika bread” for themselves - a great variety of cakes and cookies. Classics and extra. Great outdoors sitting area. Unfortunately, no prices are displayed but it looks like a piece of cake costs around 50kr. Only brewed coffee available, refilling included. I wish, they had also larger glasses for water (after sweet stuff and coffee it gets thirsty!) But in general, if you are nearby, a visit is recommended.

Very cosy place in summer. Nice collection of confectionery. Near water with green areas around. Good place to spend some quality time. Recommended.

Yes, the selection of pastries is just as absolutely bonkers as you heard and the surroundings are beautifully maintained. It's a very nice place to stroll around in and sit down for a coffee, some cake or sandwich. But the logistics around the pastry buffet and cashier is as stupid as a rock. So cramped space where the buffet and cashier queue is! On top of that, the staff also have to walk there and cut through the queues to refill plates and cake tongs. Such a mess. And if you order a sandwich, you get a ticket for it and have to pick it up after about 5 minutes. That's OK. But guess where? At the far end of the same cramped space so you have to hade through the queue to get to the pickup spot. All this should be sorted in a more convenient way. Sandwiches and pastries were good though so no worries there, once you get what you want.

Have you heard about Incredibles cafe and dessert? If you have a sweet tooth or just love good food, you won't want to miss this place! Their desserts are out of this world and their cafe has a cozy atmosphere that will make you want to stay all day. Check it out if you get the chance!

Yelp
It is a wonderful place with lots of dessert to choose from at an old mansion surrounded by beautiful relaxing nature close to water. It is too bad that it's far away from Stockholm but it's worth the visit.    I have three complaints though. 1. A lot of dessers have nuts in them (I'm allergic), 2. There are not many desserts with berries such as blueberry or strawberry pies which you would expect in a such places, and 3. The quiches (they call them "pies" also) got much smaller but the price stayed the same since 7 years ago (or perhaps they raise the price. I don't remember exactly how much they were). You can see in my photos that they look like someone whipped up leftovers to make a meal. We were still hungry after that. Very sad.    My advice is that to eat lunch/dinner elsewhere before/after the visit at this café.

Yelp
What can I say? A paradise for the people with a sweet tooth. It is very pricy though and they say it's a "cake buffet" which its not. It's just a lot of different cakes, cookies and other items - and you pay for each one of them. I'm not that impressed of the cakes and cookies. I like the view and the area more and that is why I've returned more than once, and the reason it gets more than two stars. I could skip the "fika" all together and save the money for something else. But I guess it's something you should experience at least once .. eating sweets until you bursts ..

Yelp
Came here for a Christmas buffét a dark December afternoon. Its located about 45 minutes south of central Stockholm and a bit of the track. So you better assign a designated driver or go big by cabbing it here. Once you get here you will see the magnificent castle right of the sea. A "Castle" it is, and its probably not every day you get to visit one. They have a Cafe here normally but we were here for the whole Christmas deal. Interior brings your thoughts back in history and its both comfy and classy. The dinner is divided into three parts, where you will be upstairs for the "glogg", stroll down for the big dinner and back up again for dessert. There are lots of rooms upstairs and they are airy and furnished with lots of different seating. Christmas dinner assortment was everything i wanted it to be, without being extraordinary. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy. The only thing i was missing was the Snow, that would have given the castle even more luster. If you like old classic styled Christmas, dont hesitate going here, bring your fanciness and be royal for a night!

Yelp
We went for a typical swedish "julbord" here at the historic building Taxinge slott. We were greeted at the door by a employee as she walked us through the christmas dinner details. We hung our clothes on the second floor were we also got to enjoy a warm cup of glögg. Protip: meanwhile you enjoy your glögg you can take a moment and look at the beautiful enterior, a mix of both modern and old elements! We then moved downstairs to dine, the buffé has everything you expect form a christmas table, from meatballs to swedish cheese cake! I really enjoyed the sausage and meat table with diffrent hams, sausages and mustards to try, they also had fun creme fraiche with cloud berries! When we were done we made our way upstairs for the dessert table and depending on how much you had been consuming this could take awhile! The dessert table was wonderful and had even more to choose from then the dinner table! This place gets four stars for the cozy location which is perfectfo you to sit and have a cup of glögg with your family in the cold winter season. Because of it's size you don't really feel the amount of people and you don't have to worry about the screaming children, instead it feels like an intimate christmas dinner at home or in a Astrid Lindgren movie! So now don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the table and thought it was very satisfying however I expected a bit more to choose from and for the price I think you payed alot for the location! Anyway a great little trip to get away from the christmas heist!
