Im going to start by saying Im not a bubble tea fan.
Theres just something about balls of liquid popping in your mouth that doesnt really appeal to me.
However, bubble tea is becoming all the rage in my hometown of detroit so I was determined to give it a try.
So why not try it while im in Chinatown.
I tried this place on a whim.
The menu is quite large and varied. They have tea, smoothies, shakes and rolled ice cream. The menu is also displayed right above he counter, the writing in a little small, so you have to concentrate to read it.
We were the only ones in there ordering super late on a tuesday night. Service was quick and efficient, but was really friendly. 6bucks for a large. 50 cents to add in jelly, tapioca, boba etc.
I did not get tea.
I got a strawberry banana smoothie with Mixed jelly.
I really liked it!
It tasted like real fruit, not too sweet.
Good ratio of jelly to smoothie.
Jelly had different colors and flavors, like a jellied fruit cocktail.
Also tried the Matcha smoothie. It wasnt very sweet and it was very thick and icy. Not the best.
So, i liked mine so much that I went back the next day and got another one and ordered it the same exact way, so I could see if i still liked it, or if it was a fluke.
I still liked it, and tried a matcha one again as well, and this time it was better.
