Why the Creative District on Bangkok’s Charoen Krung road is the hottest place to be - SilverKris

"Opened in May 2017 in a wing of the modernist-influenced Grand Postal Building (built in 1940), this expansive 8,600 sq m creative hub combines a public art gallery, a cafe and a specialist library of more than 70,000 art and design volumes; the library is accessible with a one-day pass." - SilverKris

Such a significant place in Bangkok for artists, architects and designers. This place are publicly allowed everyone enter the building. (Important note for first time visitor, please enter from the main entrance of the big building then turn left to a small corridor and take lift to 5th floor, pass through the outdoor garden then you will see a reception just pay the fee there). ------------------------------------------ *A general entry fee may apply for daily visits, typically around 100 Baht. *General Public: Annual membership costs - 600 baht (Thai citizen) - 1200 baht (Foreigners) *Students, Teachers, Government Officials, and Senior Citizens: Annual membership costs 300 Baht. ------------------------------------------ There have a dozen of books are related to creativity and designs, search the area for what you need. Quite environment bring you concentration in your work. 5ht and 4th floor: General area/ working and research space 3rd floor: laboratory (I'm not able to get in there because it's closed after 6pm) 2nd floor: materials research area 1dt floor: artwork gallery

Oh how I loved this place. As a designer it’s a dream to come and have access to so many great books and magazines that would be impossible to find in most other libraries. As other reviews have noted, it’s 100TBH per visit, which is well worth it. They have a decent café inside, so if you need a coffee break you don’t need to venture out. The space is bright, clean, and with tranquil music playing all day long. I came twice to research some subjects and work on some projects. If I lived here, I’d become a member without question.

I spent quite a lot of time in the library (TCDC Resource Center), which is on the highest level of the Centre. It is a quiet well-designed space, where you can study or read books. The interior design deserves special attention. There is a huge range of books on any topic, and if you're a real bookworm, you will be stuck here for a long time. There are also the Material & Design Innovation Center and other facilities, which you can find downstairs from the library floor.

the staff could take more responsibility in maintaining a truly quiet environment, especially on the 4th and 5th floors. These areas should strictly enforce a no-talking, no-chatting policy. Often, people believe they’re speaking quietly, but due to the acoustics of the space, even low voices carry and become disruptive. It’s especially frustrating when people take video calls or talk like they’re in a private office. This is a public library, not a cafe!

This building packs a punch - not immediately obvious if viewed street level, the Art Deco exterior provides a home for coffeeshops, a post office and this creative design space with several floors dedicated to creative problem solving. If you are an artist, a designer or a creative of any kind this space is a must... Great views of art and the city all round. Smiles and two thumbs up!

Great space to study. Only 100 baht for a day pass. Multiple levels of co-working space. Huge facility. Contemporary design. They have a 3D printer workshop. Vast library on design, fashion, textiles, marketing, etc. They have private office rooms for rent. Good place to run a design sprint or have a team meeting. Even a podcast room.

I visited Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC) yesterday during Bangkok Design Week 2025, and it was an incredibly inspiring experience. The event featured a wide range of cool exhibitions that really showcased the innovative spirit of Bangkok’s creative community. I was especially captivated by this year’s KV Creating Processes exhibition—it stood out with its unique insights and engaging presentation. The TCDC itself provides a vibrant, dynamic space where design and creativity intersect. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into curating the exhibitions, making every corner of the center both educational and inspiring. Whether you’re a design enthusiast or simply curious about the creative pulse of the city, this event at TCDC is a must-see. Overall, my visit left me energized and excited about the future of design in Bangkok. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the cutting edge of creativity

The location is right across the river from the mall ‘ICONSIAM’ and is actually part of the there are 5 levels of the whole building but you can only enter from the top which is the fifth floor to buy your entrance fee. The entrance fee is 100 THB for a day and yearly isn’t badly priced as well being 1200 THB. The buying process is pretty simple. All you’ve got to do to get registered is have your passport, pay and youre all set. I’d recommend keeping your ticket for the duration of your stay as you’ll be scanning it to get in and out. It’s a huge, spreadout area with each floor seeming to have it’s own purpose with some people renting out entire rooms to do a group/work project. The 4th floor seems to be the most occupied with actual large seating areas in the middle and some off to the side. All floors are clean and well taken care of. The exit is also all the way at the bottom at the 1st floor. Overall, it’s a nice mix of a place to come to to get stuff done if you’re working on computer or even as a student. There’s also a nice view at the 4th floor of ICONSIAM and the river.
