Tchaikovsky Hostel

Amazing location near the old town in Split. Great bedroom space and locker space Very generous compared to the first hostel I stayed in Croatia. Curtains on beds made it feel more comfortable and private. Which was a added bonus. Kitchen small for the amount of rooms to accommodate, but we made do! Very accommodating staff and owners who helped with recommendations for island trips and places to go to in the city. Very attentive and always in cleaning the hostel/ doing maintenance. Owners mother as others mentioned was so accommodating and friendly. Making the place feel warm and welcoming. Even when my friends lost contact because of my issues with data she went out of her way to contact me. I couldn't have appreciated it me. I was safe but to take that extra care was above expectations. Me and 2 friends plan to come back next year so looking forward to our return! Thank you 😊 See you in 2026

The directions to this hostel are the first thing that made me laugh, it was so real..all you needed to do is read line by line and you'd arrive to their doorstep without a worry. Now inside is this magical, clean, friendly place and friendly people at the reception. Bed in mixed dorm is actually saying, the men are alone, the women are also alone (separate rooms) that was nice I was afraid I was gonna have to sleep next to a weird guy but no, it was just ladies in the "sleeping beauty room". This place given the budget is really worth it and if you like a 20minutes slow walk, you don't even need a car to access almost everything within the tourist center. Great thanks to the hosts for taking care of me, having conversations and the very chatty nice tourist gentleman who also gave pointers of where to eat etc.

This hostel was the perfect choice for me. Clean, quiet and perfect location, very close to the centre. Mirjiana was so sweet, very kind and she suggested a few things I could do in Split. My flight was in the evening, she allowed me to leave my bag in a safe place after check out. It was just a wonderful experience 🥰

Very sweet and kind people. It is like staying at a small family apartment. The rooms are good for backpackers, everything is a little small but we met nice people. It’s a perfect place for travellers and people who don’t want to spend to much money. The location is perfect and as I said: the owner is very very good. She is lovely. Thanks for letting us stay with you.

Fantastic. Solo traveler, stayed for 4 days. Had good communication through booking.com, instructions were clear on how to find the place, and check in. The location couldn’t have been better. So close to old town and the water (5 min walk). The price was great and I can confirm that the owner’s mother is absolutely so nice and as others have mentioned, like your own Croatian grandmother. She leaves fresh fruit in the common area from the market for anyone to eat. She check on everyone in my room to make sure we have everything we need and were taken care of. The people in my hostel were very nice, couldn’t have been better. There was also a community balcony which can fit about 3 people but it’s very nice to have the option to sit outside, especially if it rains you can still sit and be dry. I took a lot of time researching all the hostels and this was by far the best choice I made. The beds also have curtains so you have privacy. Definitely will be coming back whenever I return to split.

Amazing place! I had an night/early morning flight and arrived super early. The check in is at 13:00, but the staff (Mirjana) was incredibly nice and welcomed me at 9 AM, even prepared my bed and I could sleep right away. Saved my day! The hostel feels like home. Clean, nice, chill vibes, calm. Mirjana leaves fruits and cookies for you in the kitchen, she checks in you every morning - like a real mom! Super super pleasant experience and will definitely come back!!! 😍

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Clean rooms, amazing atmosphere and nice staff. Thanks to Mirjana for providing an amazing time, free fruit and coffee and even cake. This hostel gave me a little family for the time being. I will definitely come back one day!

Overall, a pretty nice experience. Great location, and service. Clean and comfortable environment. The host is pretty nice and chill and helpful. I recommend this place to stay for its homely vibe and affordability.
