Te Aroha Holiday Park - Campground & Hot Pool

DO NOT GO HERE, It is a complete drug den, with homeless people staying in fallen apart caravans. My family had to leave and go to Wahei beach for the night, apart from being really dangerous, the town itself isn't even that nice. They told my mum they drain and clean the pool daily, than doesn't make sense because it smelt like vomit. I have probably missed stuff but if you can, don't even enter Te Aroha, and especially don't stay here, I know most 1 star reviews are really hateful, but this place should not be visited as it is so scary and unsafe. The only nice thing about it was the view of Mt Te Aroha

Stayed here fir a couple of night's a pity I could not stay longer. A nice tidy camp with great staff a hot pool swimming pool and natural hot water plunge pool.. newy painted redecorated amenities the camp is tidy with a real.good feeling about it a great vibe some would say I will.ne back soon for sure

I always stay here when in Te Aroha - the Units are basic but comfy and clean and the park has all the facilities needed. The prices are reasonable.

Only stayed overnight. Stayed in a cottage which was a little smaller than I expected. It didn't have a chair so I had to sit on the bed which wasn't a comfy option (picture on website showed a small single chair). It was clean and tidy so that was a positive. I did feel like I was staying at an Emergency housing campsite as most of the sites and cabins liked like they were permanent renters. Host was very friendly. Not somewhere I would stay again. It wasn't bad but wasn't great.

We were very impressed with the facilities at Te Aroha campground. We stayed in a campervan on a non powered site. Appreciated the oak trees and the shade they provided on a hot summers day. The pool was fantastic, amazing views out to the mountain. We appreciated the hot spring/mineral hot tub after climbing up mt Te Aroha. Cannot fault this place, if you are looking for great value, great facilities look no further.

We stayed in campervan for 2 nights. Loved it! Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Everyone there was friendly as. Pool was fab, spa awesome, toilets nice and clean and kitchen x 2 were great. We will be back, stay longer next time!

Wonderful one night stay in Poppy Cottage. We arrived after the office shut but had very clear directions provided. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Great place for camping. Nice and level field for small tents. Facilities are all in place (warm showers, kitchen, laundry, etc. If you arrive by bike you will have to ride approx 2 km over a somewhat busier road from Te Ahara, but on most parts there is a small shoulder and we found the drivers to be attentive towards us.
