Te Aroha Motels are ideally located if you wish to (a) browse the many shops along the main street
(b) Visit the Domain and its many facilities (swimming pool, Spa Bath, Museum, etc)
(c) feel up to climbing Mt Te Aroha - (2 hours)
(d) Visit a local cafe or restaurant for a great meal.
As part of our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebrations, we booked into Te Aroha Motels for 2 nights and so overwhelmingly looked after by the owner. She went out of her way to be helpful and answered every favour we needed.
The rooms inside were so fresh and tidy and looked like they had been recently ungraded. Modern decor and a fridge and microwave greeted us and a huge King size bed - comfortable and firm enough just for us. The weather was warm enough so the heat pump was not needed. But we blobbed out in the evenings on the many TV and movie options available on line.
We will certainly come back here again and continue our discovery of the Te Aroha Shops.
We found an excellent 2nd hand book shop and spent a good hour or more and the prices were so affordable. And that was right across the road.
Taj Indian Restaurant rewarded our 50th Anniversary with a special complimentary Julab Gamun Dessert - my favourite Indian Dessert. They also were extremely pleasant.
There is much to recommend steppong a little bit back in time and staying in Te Aroha. Rediscover polite people, pleasant conversation and significant Art Decor buildings slotted here and there to make your stay totally worth while.
