Te Kano Estate

We just found our new favourite Winery in the whole NZ! Views are stunning - overlooking the Kawarau River & the Bannockburn Mining landscapes, especially on a nice sunny day, it is perfect! Great location to do your wine tasting, so relaxing & this is definitely a hidden Gem! They produce amazing wines and with multiple wines have been awarded as one of the best in NZ! Not to mention you can build you own charcuterie board from their pantry. (Try their cherry chutney - amazing & you would want to go back for more!) Delicious wine, easy to drink, enjoy the taste and explore the wine notes during your wine tasting here. Highly recommend! I would go back in a heartbeat!

👍 Like my review! This was the first place we went to taste in the Otago Valley and we were very impressed by Te Kano. We wish we lived closer or lived in New Zealand to get a full case sent to our home. As a person who understands and enjoy wines, they hit the target on all their wines. The customer service, views, and pricing were great and I would highly recommend to our family and friends.

Visiting Te Kano was perhaps the highlight of my entire trip to New Zealand. The property and architecture is absolutely stunning, the service was phenomenal, and the wines were fabulous across the board. I did a tasting and was served by Maddie, who was incredibly knowledgeable about all the wines and created a specialized tasting based on my preferences. The Northburn Pinot Noir and the Waitaki Chardonnay were probably my favorites but I enjoyed each wine I tasted- the wine itself is truly world-class. I also loved that it’s a family business and members of the family were working in the cellar door. It was so great to hear about their story and their passion both for the wine and for protecting and preserving the land. Absolutely recommend!

What an amazing place! My partner and I decided to visit Te Kano on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we were not disappointed with the amazing customer service, quality of wine and ambience of this place. This hidden gem nestled in the vast hills of Bannockburn offered exquisite wine tasting, a 'build your own picnic' and stunning views that captured the beauty of Central Otago. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of wines we tasted and fell in love with the Riesling - which we of course took home! We would definitely recommend this place for those wine lovers out there!

We called in on our push-bike ride and were greeted with a fantastic view. Joe was polite, accommodating, personable and very knowledgeable throughout our wine tasting. It was a lovely experience! P.S. We think Joe deserves a pay rise 😉

We had such a great time at Te Kano Estate. The place is absolutely stunning and the wine tasting was very enjoyable. Alcides welcomed and provided us with a great experience, giving an in-depth explanation about the different types of vineyards and the history of the venue. We will definitely return for the delicious wine and also for the great service.

We had an amazing experience! We’ve been served by Maddie and she was lovely. She explained to us very thoroughly all the wines we were about to taste and responded to many other curious questions we had about the wine industry. For sure a very knowledgeable person that offered a 5-stars customer experience! Plus, the views are just stunning. Great place to sit, relax and enjoy the peaceful landscapes of the South Island💙

A beautiful setting, with some of the best New Zealand wines I’ve tasted and an amazing team - especially Bruna who gave us such lovely fun and caring service. Would highly recommend visiting Te Kano and hope we can get some of their wines to Ontario, Canada soon!
