The Perfect Saturday in Tahiti, According to Pro Surfer Vaimiti Teiefitu

"The bar at Te Moana Tahiti Resort offers the best sunset views, located on a small island with a view of Mo'orea. It's an ideal spot to start the evening with a drink."

"Rare in Tahiti, Manava sits on a white-sand beach on the island’s west coast, offering dazzling sunset views across the water to Moorea. Beyond its romantic vibe, however, the resort is actually great for families, as rooms feature full kitchens that make cooking a breeze, plus modern amenities like free WiFi and flatscreen TVs with DVD players. There’s also a gorgeous infinity pool fronting the beach and lagoon as well as an onsite restaurant, Vaitohi, which offers an extensive à la carte menu of Polynesian and international cuisine. When you need a break from the kids, head to either the Taapuna Pool Bar or the contemporary Punavai Lounge Bar."

Service and quality of restaurant, bar and activity center was really friendly and helpful. Great activity possibilities and professional and nice experience. Rooms and resort need to be renewed as you feel the moisture, additionally the room service has to be adjusted. Room was not always clean enough (f.e. missing toilet paper, shower and floor were not cleaned, floor had still sand). Reception needs to be educated, was not service-oriented, hided behind the office desk.

Hotel is fantastic! 15 minutes from the airport…great staff…great pool…great bar & tiki bar…fantastic sunrises & sunsets! All for a decent price. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment with two couples, including kitchen & fabulous balconies. Highly recommend!

Disappointing is the only word I have for this as I was looking forward to this stay post cruise as it looked idyllic. Upon entering the room (which by the way is in the main building closest to the road which was loud until the early morning), one could not help but notice the bedskirt surrounding the bed was filthy, old laminate lifting and splintering everywhere, bathroom had zero to offer for amenities to it as well as vintage wood vanities showing wear for sometime I imagine. I did go back to front desk to request another room/upgrade I was told that was not possible as the hotel was sold out. I can assure you, as most guests know, if a hotel is sold out, reception is always buzzing, beach chairs are hard to get and restaurant/bars are full. The restaurant on the water was mediocre but you pay for the view. The breakfast 'room' had a buffet, which my husband had was ok. No server to the table for a good coffee, only a machine in a back corner. I thought the infinity pool with waterfall feature (which wasn't working) would make up for it but the entire floor of the pool needs restoration. 10/10 would not recommend. Spend the extra money at the Hilton or Intercontinental. I wish we had.

Great hotel and staff! I didn’t know how to get around or what I needed and didn’t speak the language and they were very kind and helpful. The hotel had a lot of great amenities so you could choose to stay there and use the pool and they even had jet skis and various activities you could pay for. Downside was hard to get around outside of the hotel and the surrounding area didn’t have much for eating or drinking or shopping.

We stayed overnight on two occasions and did a day stay before our flight left Tahiti. the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast buffet was quite good. The dining menus were limited in selection and did not include any type of fresh fruit side dish :(. The setting for the resort is lovely and the grounds are well kept. Our day use was a bit disappointing as there was not comfortable place to lie out in the shade. It was either fun sun or a bar stool...no loungers. The shower room was dank and hot with substandard ventilation. It was literally a room with towels, a sink, a shower, and a bench (no hairdryer). We were afforded 30 minutes of use use for both of us to take showers. This place was fine for what it was...a hopping off and landing site and somewhat less expensive than the high-end hotels. Kudos to the management, however, for locating a doctor for a Sunday Urgent Care visit. Can't say how much I really appreciated that effort on their part

My stay at Te Moana Tahiti Resort was truly wonderful 🌺✨ A special thanks to the manager Vince, and the front desk team Cataline and Vaheana, for their warm welcome, constant support, and excellent service. Everything was perfect and I felt very comfortable during my stay. Highly recommended, and I look forward to coming back 🙏🏼💙

We stayed at Te Moana for 4 nights in an Ocean View Suite primarily to acclimatise after travelling from the UK and before moving on to Bora Bora. Having read reviews about dated rooms and the tired pool area our expections weren't particularly high, but, whilst those comments were correct, it didn't spoil our stay at all and we really enjoyed our time at Te Moana - so much that we would have happily returned at the end of our trip if there had been availability. The outside areas are very pleasant with loads of sun loungers and fabulous views of the lagoon and sunsets over Moorea. Our room was huge, quiet & spacious. Breakfast was adequate if nothing spectacular and there's a supermarket and a number of local 'streetfood' places within easy walking distance. Transfer time to the airport is about 15 minutes & 2500 XPF/$25, 25 minutes & 3000 XPF/$30 to Papeete.

We enjoyed the Te Moana resort, especially the swim up bar. The rooms were large and clean. The pool area has an awesome view. The resort is looking tired and needs a reno. Locals can buy a day pass and we were told that the pool has the better views than some of the other resorts. We did not have the breakfast as it was $45 USD--way over priced. The food at the bar and restaurant was good and the fish was fresh. I would recommend a room overlooking the ocean and pool.
