The Perfect Saturday in Tahiti, According to Pro Surfer Vaimiti Teiefitu

"The bar at Te Moana Tahiti Resort offers the best sunset views, located on a small island with a view of Mo'orea. It's an ideal spot to start the evening with a drink."

"Rare in Tahiti, Manava sits on a white-sand beach on the island’s west coast, offering dazzling sunset views across the water to Moorea. Beyond its romantic vibe, however, the resort is actually great for families, as rooms feature full kitchens that make cooking a breeze, plus modern amenities like free WiFi and flatscreen TVs with DVD players. There’s also a gorgeous infinity pool fronting the beach and lagoon as well as an onsite restaurant, Vaitohi, which offers an extensive à la carte menu of Polynesian and international cuisine. When you need a break from the kids, head to either the Taapuna Pool Bar or the contemporary Punavai Lounge Bar."

The advice I can give to those who decide to spend a holiday in this hotel is to be very careful with the final bill you will have to pay and with the organization, as the professionalism of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. Specifically, I stayed in this hotel with a friend and my wife for three days at the beginning of August. I then moved to Moorea, forgetting my passport in the room; my friend delivered it that same day to the reception, explaining what had happened. I also wrote an email specifying that I would come to collect it in mid-August, and the response was that everything was under control. However, when I presented myself at the reception in mid-August to claim my passport, total chaos began because the staff had not the slightest idea where it was, though they fortunately found it after more than half an hour. During those same three days in early August, I rented a car and booked another for when I would return from the Tuamotu Islands. Upon returning from Rangiroa, I went to the key collection area near the pool and faced another unpleasant surprise: the staff knew nothing about my car and told me no cars were available. I showed them the reservation form that they themselves had countersigned, and they began making phone calls to which no one responded. Since it was evening and everything else was closed, I could not turn to other companies; I told them I would not move from there if they did not find me a car and eventually, "coincidentally," they found one. This resulted in over an hour of waiting and significant stress, and we also noticed that the breakfast bills were inflated. Certainly, if we ever return to Tahiti, we will stay far away from this hotel; as they say in these cases, "forewarned is forearmed". The service is truly terrible for the level this hotel structure boasts and, above all, for the high costs it proposes. We found ourselves a thousand times better in Polynesian homestays than in this luxury resort.

Fantastic stay! One night. Excellent snorkeling out front. Great food trucks nearby! Comfortable beds. Great value for price. Will stay again. Following up after seeing negative reviews at the same time we were there. Some folks expect OTW bungalow experiences for a fraction of the price. Do your homework. This hotel is a great value for travelers that are independent, can make decisions about food choices (stay in or go out), and love local hospitality. For tjise that dont, by all means head to Bora Bora.

AMAZING! The resort is beyond beautiful! The room is HUGE and had plenty of space for 3 people. The whole unit was super clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were amazing, and very luxurious. The property overall, was amazing too! The restaurants were delicious and had a variety of options. The only thing I wasn't overly pleased with was breakfast. Everybody I came into contact with was beyond pleasant and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anybody, and I will be staying here again on future trips!

Stayed at Te Moana resort Tahiti for two nights at the end of two weeks stay in French Polynesia. Of the 4 hotels we stayed in this was by far the nicest. Room was large, came equipped with a kitchenette, great balcony and with sea and island view. Furniture was a little dated and has seen some service, but hardly noticeable given the overall quality of the room. Very friendly and efficient staff with 24hr reception, flowers in our room for our anniversary was a nice touch, nice pool with bar and coral reef. Good range of activities and excursions available directly from the hotel. Resteraunt was pricey, but the food and service was first class.|Breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and filling, wild chickens on the table were a distraction. |All in all, from our short experience, I would recommend this hotel to friends.

Although we had one of the less expensive rooms at the front of the hotel, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom well laid out. The rest of the hotel though is gorgeous! The fabulous lagoon area , swimming pool with swim up bar serving great cocktails! The breakfast buffet is extensive, well prepared and delicious! The waterspouts/car hire team by the pool are excellent, warm, friendly, slightly mischievious but professional. This is a really lovely, warm welcoming hotel. One tip though...the rooms at the front face the road which is very, very noisy.

I made the Te Moana my base of exploration for my trip to Tahiti. I loved the location with just a few minute walk to bus stop to Papeete and the drop off bus stop right at the resort. As others have mentioned the near by food trucks are fantastic for dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. I'd definitely stay again.

Stayed only for 2 full nights. Good breakfast, clean room, nice amenities. Staff were nice and welcoming. Love the blued-eyes eel. Does he/she have a name? X-mas decor was very nice.

Hotel is rather small but rooms are generous and well equipped. Small kitchen is a plus as prices in the rwstaurant are quite high.|Very good breakfast, no vegetables, but fruit and all sorts of salamy, cheese etc. Large choice.|Reception is very helpful, so is all personnel.|Room cleaning is slow, you may have to ask at reception to get your room cleaned.|Sunbeds are sometimes a problem, especially on weekends, as a lot of locals come to the pool! It is written that sunbeds are for hotel guests only, but no one cares!
