Tea Bush Hotel Nuwara Eliya

We are from India and we had planned to stay at Tea Bush hotel in Nuwara Eliya for a couple of days. Unfortunately we got stranded in Nuwara Eliya due to cyclone Ditwah and we were unable to move out of the town to catch the flight due to road closures as connectivity was cut off for few days. There was no network coverage / internet available to the whole town. In that hard time, the Hotel management especially Chamila Sir and Sumith sir took great care of us to ensure we are safe during the cyclone. There was no mobile connectivity as well to convey that we are safe. Once we got to know that we were going to get stuck, they asked to stay until the conditions are back to normal. The Hotel manager, especially used to go and check with police every day early morning, to know the status of the roads and update us. We were finally able to reach Colombo after 3 more days extended stay in hotel. The Hotel management didn't charge us even a single rupee on food and room for the extra days we spent. Even though we insisted a lot, they simply said it is their duty to take care in these times. Basic food is a bare necessity and it is more than enough in the hard times, but they even paid so much attention to that as well. Even when we left to Colombo they packed lunch for us so that we don't need to stop in between to waste time and reach there as early as possible. Not all heroes in the world wear capes, and you both are proof of that. We are thankful to be taken care like this in the hotel. Needless to say, the rooms are good, washrooms are clean, food was also good. Special thanks to Nuwan as well, for communicating to our family that we were safe. Thank you so much Tea Bush hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Check-in process was very smooth. Room was very clean, comfortable and well lite. Food was delicious. The view from the top was very beautiful. Loved it!

This hotel could be so beautiful, it has potential to be a charming place. However as it stands it really is anything but charming. I checked into my room, instantly hit with the smell of mould (well ventilated places in the area do not smell like this), it was dirty, the bedding old and lumpy, and overall extremely run down. I immediately booked myself into somewhere else nearby and left the property (I’ve never done this across 36 countries). |Once leaving I did speak with a manager who asked me to cancel my new hotel reservation, as I assume he was going to try and resolve my problem and maybe change the room, but the damage was already done. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel before this stay.||The room I had booked was a superior king with courtyard view. Which looked lovely on the photos.

Tea Bush Hotel is a very cozy place in Nuwara Eliya. We had a great stay the rooms were clean, the staff were extremely friendly, and it’s definitely good value for the price. A lovely hotel overall!

Rooms are well maintained and very clean. The staff was very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are well kept better than many hotels in nuwaraeliya. The food is great. Can recommend it 👌

We had a wonderful time at Tea Bush hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location was convenient and easy to access. The hotel was peaceful, and we had a very relaxing stay. We are happy with the experience. Highly recommended!

Good property with hill in the backyard. It gives very spectacular view of morning sunrise. Posting views than the hotel 😌

The host of the Tea Bush was absolutely wonderful, welcoming us with some delicious tea. The breakfast was also fantastic (very filling, but very delicious!). The room was alright, though the bathroom had a few little bugs in it and a fairly mouldy ceiling. But otherwise I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Nuwara Eliya!
