We stopped by today as it was snowing, which made for a beautiful backdrop to taste some tea. As soon as we walked in, a nice woman greeted us and turned on the kettle. She beckoned us to sit, and served us a lovely green hued sencha. I found it slightly bitter, but I think this is unique to the local style. Next, we tried a genmaicha with a mild roasted flavor. Finally, she let us try a mild black tea which a number of reviews here have noted. This was a winner for us, so we purchased a small packet of this tea.
The shop is quite lovely, and has been in existence for over 70 years (1947).
