"Options at this U District tea shop are seemingly endless with the variety of milk, fruit, and caffeine free options that appear on the menu. Noteworthy items include the Thai tea, a brew made without the traditional bright orange dye, and the Waikiki, a mango tea mixed with a blend of various fruit juices. While the shop doesn’t carry regular boba, it occasionally offers crystal boba (the crunchy, agar-agar version), during the summer. The shop is open for takeout and offers limited indoor seating." - Ryan Lee, Jade Yamazaki Stewart

The place is dim so an okay place to study. There are two tables closer to the window. I feel like it is a better place to catch up/talk. There is wifi and a small selection of food. Drinks in the pictures are about $8. The staff was helpful with answering questions as I haven't been back in a while. Place felt fairly clean but I didn't see anybody wiping down tables in the 3 hours I was there.

Absolutely love this place! **The customer service is top-notch. Shoutout to Daniel, the tea barista, who brings warmth and friendliness, making the ambiance feel just like home. Not only is it comfortable, but they also serve a delightful Hojicha tea pot that I simply can't get enough of 🫖🍵 💌 Highly recommended!

Google
One of my go-to places for flavorful and delightful tea! The vibe(yea its outside look and inside are like 2 different worlds!) is great for social catch-up with friends or just working on your own stuff on laptop alone. I always get French Pear in tea pot which gives a very creamy and smooth taste with some fruity sweetness. People there are also super kind and give helpful recommendations if you need some inspiration about what to order from the menu. I highly recommend this place.

Google
My fave spot on The Ave! So warm, cozy, and inviting, equally perfect for a late-night study sesh or a romantic first date. Drinks are delicious (I especially recommend the Moroccan Mint!) and always made perfectly to order. Staff are lovely! <3

Google
The place is beautiful and super vibey! Friend and I shared a large size milk tea and had a nice chat. The milk tea was very pleasant as well - a bit too sweet for me but otherwise it was very good. Overall wonderful place.

Google
I love tea republik-- it's one of the only coffee/tea shops open late! It really caters to students. This is an awesome place to get a pot of tea and study. Not to mention, the menu is vast from non caffeinated fruit teas to black teas so there's something for everybody! They have a daily tea menu that rotates specialty teas that have juices or syrups, almost like little cocktails. So delicious, good vibes, and an awesome place to hang out near campus.

Google
Tea Republik stays true to its name and has all the tea you'd ever want! They also have a great selection of fruit teas and lemonades made with fresh juice. Not to mention, the dim/wooden vibe makes it a super great working/hangout spot. They're also open late. If you get hot tea (hot matcha shown in picture), they put them in nice little jugs with cup for you to pour into so the tea stays warm.

Lovely tea shop with a nice, quiet atmosphere. The lavender earl gray is delicious! The server was so kind (even when I spilled tea 🥲). Excited to come back!

Yelp
If I could give 6 stars I would! I will absolutely be back and soon. I think I've found my new favorite spot in the U District area. I come here regularly for medical appointments and also with friends for lunch, and I have tried every tea place in the neighborhood without exaggeration. This is my favorite spot hands down. The selection is fantastic! I also love the customization. The staff are super helpful with making choices about customizing and recommendations. It's also a super cute spot to sit and read or work, and to gather and chat with friends. I highly recommend it! As another note for the service, there was a homeless individual who came in and sprawled across their couch, made a mess, and became very loud and disruptive. The staff handled it with compassion and professionalism. Unfortunately the individual became combative and needed to be removed by the U District Ambassadors, but I was impressed by how the staff handled the situation.

Yelp
1. Iced blueberry fruit tea: flavorful and tasty, but a bit too sweet. For an iced drink, it felt heavy and not really refreshing for a hot day. Maybe more for fall weather. 2. Emperor's milk tea: requested something strong, and this came recommended. This wasn't just bland and mild, it was actually watered down as if it had been sitting out after all the ice had melted. Took a few sips and threw it out. Two small drinks, $16 with tip. No thanks.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place after we finished a study session at the library! I love how it's open until 10, it makes it a solid place to study late or have cozy conversations with friends. The tea house has a really warm feel with the floral lamps and paper lanterns hanging down. We shared one of the house specials, the Thai tea with milk and vanilla ($8.50). It was hard to choose a drink since the menu was so extensive! It's a decent amount to share as we both had 2-3 cups each! I really loved the taste of the tea, I don't normally drink hot tea with milk but it's so nice and comforting. We ended up staying until they closed, and there was a good amount of people that also stayed until the end! A worker came and gave us a 10 minute warning but wasn't rushing us out at all. I think this is such a good spot for tea lovers or those that want a chill place to talk or read. But I would also say it's not a place meant for big groups, the tables are small and made for two people!

Wendy K.

Yelp
A friend at work told me about this place awhile ago sId they have the best chai. I like mine on the spicy side not sweet and the person was very helpful guiding me to make the right decision for my taste which was the Kama Sutra. They were very good at explaining when they brought to the table that the longer it steeps the spicer/stronger it would be. It was empty when I first walked in at 11am but filled quickly on yesterday. I got the smaller pot which was more than enough for one person. Space is cute with pretty lanterns as lighting. Very warm and welcoming space.

Yelp
Out of all the "boba" places in U District, this one is my favorite because they actually appreciate tea and its brilliant flavors. There are a lot of options and many forms to enjoy tea. Plenty of seating, though not a lot of chargers. The interior is cute and it's a nice place to relax with friends.

Annie C.

Yelp
I was around the Udistrict area and discovered this cute tea shop, with a nice cozy atmosphere. I walked right in and am greeted with a nice aroma of tea. I looked at the menu and noticed a large selection of teas and appetizing drinks. I decided to order the lavender earl grey tea while my partner got the Thai iced tea. I overall thought the drinks were very floral and unique in flavors. Who would have thought earl grey tasted so good with lavender added. They focus a lot on experimenting flavors of their various types of tea, which I really love. This tea shop is a great place to study or chill with your friends. Definitely will come back to try some unique drinks on their menu.

Julie L.

Yelp
The owner and staff are amazingly knowledgeable and accommodating to special requests! I feel very comfortable trying new things here, as well as spending time in the space. We loved the floral lanterns so much, the owner gave us information on where to purchase for my home

Daveena S.

Yelp
So so refreshing to be treated with such kindness upon entering a cafe! The staff was truly so kind and understanding for that alone I'll be back, lol! But I got the lavender earl grey iced and wow!!!! As someone who absolutely loves iced tea this was great and the tea was actually cold (iykyk)! There is plenty of seating space to study so definitely check it out! My only odd observation is the smell upon entering which may be from the outside lingering in but other than that i loved my entire visit.

Gabrielle V.

Yelp
Four stars for a great hang out spot in the U district that is usually pretty quiet and has reasonable pricing for the large servings of tea. Lots of varieties and great combinations that aren't too sweet. If I lived closer I would go often. I tend to rate compared to similar places I have been to snd while not my favorite tes house, its pretty great and unique to that area for sure. Service could be improved but the tea is always fresh and made to order.

Safa S.

Yelp
The best tea variety I have ever had, and I have been places! Authentic, real tea, no fake flavorings or extracts. The options are endless and the tea is too good. Almost anything comes in hot/cold option. Must visit when you are in town. We have been going for years. Danny the owner is the most genuine person ever. We love the service.

Chris S.

Yelp
AMAZING selection of drinks and incredibly kind, friendly, and patient service. Nice atmosphere and tasty drinks. Will have to go back and work my way through the menu. The Thai tea was a hit so far!

Fionna L.

Yelp
Tea Republik is an intimate and cozy space on the Ave where you can enjoy excellent tea alongside a small selection of pastries. Comfy wooden chairs and tables, a couch, soothingly dim lighting and a nice bathroom make this a wonderful haven for students and non-students alike to chat and study. They have a huge menu of high quality teas ranging from loose white to fruit teas, rooibos, and 6 unique chai lattes. The Moroccan Mint is the best tea I've ever had: creamy with just enough sweetness to balance out the fragrant mintiness. You can request extra honey to flavor it to your liking. It's so delicious that it's made even a non-tea drinker like me return again and again! They also have good Lapsang Souchong. I found the Iced Lavender Crème Earl Grey and Apple Black Tea alright and want to try many more teas on their menu (if I can resist the Moroccan Mint!). One last wonderful thing to note is that they are open late: till 10pm on Sunday, 11pm Monday through Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday.

Yelp
A few days ago, I and a small group of friends sought refuge from Seattle's lingering winter chill in June with some piping hot tea. It was my first visit to this establishment, but the serene decor was immediately soothing and ideal for the tea experience. The vast selection of teas available was somewhat daunting for me, but I ultimately decided on the "Third Wheel," which was their special blend. I found it to be exquisite. Additionally, the fact that they stay open until late is a definite plus. I'm eagerly looking forward to returning with a good book in hand, ready to snuggle up and unwind. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of a peaceful and enjoyable tea experience.

Nooshi B.

Yelp
Ugh I hate giving this place 2 stars, but sadly our matcha lattes left us wondering if we had just ordered steamed almond milk. The gentleman working there was so kind and friendly. He spent time making the drinks and my friend and I were genuinely excited to take our first sip. However, the faint green color should've told us everything. There was very little matcha and the drinks went into the trash shortly thereafter.

Nik S.

Yelp
Tea Republik has the best bubble tea in Seattle. They have Earl grey milk tea, which is very good, and a beautifully decorated interior.

Greg C.

Yelp
A very calm and friendly tea restaurant. We didn't know exactly what we wanted when we came in and the server helped arrange two very nice teas. Will go back

Jason A.

Yelp
Our favorite tea place in Seattle. The tea quality is very good - you can tell the focus is on the tea. The drinks are not very sweet either. The person working there is really nice and the vibes are great for studying / working. Really missing this tea shop right now - wish we could go back!

Sonali T.

Yelp
Tea Republik has been my favorite tea spot in Seattle since I was a student at UW! The experience here is always amazing, but was lifted to a new high when we worked with them recently to create tea favors for our wedding! We went in with an idea of some of our favorite teas, but were on the fence with which to pick. Our server was extremely gracious to let us sample a good number of jasmine and hibiscus teas that helped us narrow down our selection, and he also made recommendations for us on what would fit the flavor profiles we were looking for! They also offer a 10% bulk discount when you buy over $50 worth of tea. We took the loose leaf tea and bottled it along with making some DIY labels! Thank you Tea Republik for being a part of our wedding and making it so special! Our favorites are always the classic lavender creme earl grey and healing tea, but you honestly can't go wrong with your selection here. It's great to see that the place still reflects a peaceful and calm ambiance with students studying on a weekday night. Note: their bathroom is one of the nicest and cleanest options on the Ave!

Laura R.

Yelp
I adore this charming tea spot! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. Their recommendation based on my preferences made me eager to explore more teas. I tried the Emperor's Tea, substituting the black tea with Bourbon Street Vanilla Rooibos as suggested by the owner, since I can't have caffeine, and I fell in love with the flavor! They are accommodating and can customize to your liking. The owner and staff are all so friendly! The atmosphere is peaceful. I can't wait to return and try more of their tea varieties.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I love how the tea here is freshly brewed when you order! It's hard to find places like this nowadays with so many different options. The Formosa milk tea was great, not too sweet and tastes exactly like how milk tea in Taiwan tasted. Decent amount of seating inside but it was a bit dark so might be hard to do work. Service was friendly and have good recommendations.

Gaby T.

Yelp
Really good tea, we got the Lavender Earl Grey crème iced and hot and the lavender truly stood out. Staff was also really nice and the vibes are

Mike L.

Yelp
My rating is only for the drink I got. I tried the la france pear with soy milk. The drink was pretty watered down and I only tasted soy milk with vanilla. The staff (only 1 person taking orders, making drinks, and bussing) is really nice and knowledgeable. Tea Republik is a great studying spot though and I would've loved studying here (5/5 for the environment). Although dimly lit, it's enough to see your books or phone. There's plenty of tables to work at with some chill music. There's one unisex restroom as well.

Yelp
UPDATE: This used to be my fav spot, but I've gotta leave a new review cause it no longer is. I will say the drink quality and vibe still holds up to my previous review. However I am reducing stars cause they removed access to all the outlets. I even asked the owner "do you have any outlets" and he said a very stern "No!" Uuummm okay ? That's like having a coffee shop with no wifi. Given it's location being on The Ave, a college Hotspot, how are students supposed to be able to charge their laptops, phones, etc? The second my devices start dying, it's time for me to go home (aka. Not spend anymore money on local business) students these days carry a lot of tech: Wireless headphones, laptops, SSDs, Smart Phone, Cameras, Tablets, Wireless keyboards & mouse, Apple pencils, the list goes on. I just wanna know the reason? Because many students have old iPhones that battery lasts 5 mins and laptops on life support. The outlets are a must. If the reason was to limit people from loitering/overstaying their welcome, surely one can instill a time/purchase policy? Let's be real, many people are here for the experience, not necessarily to just sit & sip tea. I am keeping 3 stars cause I still enjoy the "ambiance" of the place. I like the random selection of local art on the walls, makes it feel homey and grounded (not sterile & generic). Many cafes have bright fluorescent lighting which is a nightmare for my astigmatism, but not at this cafe. Also the acoustics are nice as it isn't super echoey. A group of people can be chatting and the space will still be fairly quiet unlike other nearby cafes. Speaking of nearby cafes, they have outlets. Will I choose where I spend my $ based on accessibility to wifi and outlets? Absolutely.

Hanh N.

Yelp
Fantastic drinks! My always go-to order is Hot Lavender Earl Grey! I have also tried Jill's Adventure, Rose, and Malibu Kiss. They were also great! There is no disappointing drink here!!!

Joseph L.

Yelp
Great place to study, has a really nice quiet ambience. Great tea - I ordered a pot of the sweetened jasmine tea and it was very good.

Michael T.

Yelp
I have become a steady regular here as they have an extensive menu of delicious teas of all types. My favorites are Monk's Blend (black tea) and Bourbon Street Vanilla (rooibos). Daniel always provides outstanding customer service. It is a nice refuge in the heart of the U-District.

Maia S.

Yelp
i've always heard about this place so i was excited to try it. i got one of the specials, it was peach flavored and was really good! i definitely prefer it to boba places, it's less sweet and the tea taste is stronger. the interior is really nice, im excited to come back to try their other drinks!

Holly H.

Yelp
This place is perfect for studying, reading, or meeting up with friends where you can actually hear one another. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, the selection of teas is vast, and the staff is kind and knowledgeable. If coming to study, make sure an electronics are fully charged as there are few/no outlets available for plugging in laptops. Honestly though, for me the atmosphere more than makes up for that small inconvenience. Would highly recommend

Sa Y.

Yelp
Very quiet and peaceful place. Plus monitor doesn't ask for tip. So peaceful. So many choices of tea hot tea, sweetened tea, I will visit more often now I know.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
My mom and I both got the lavender earl grey, cold and hot, respectively. It was incredible! Super creamy and delicious. I preferred it hot, but both ways were great! The atmosphere was also really nice; the lighting is soft and comfortable. If I lived nearby, I would definitely come here often to study and enjoy lots of tea.

Saira S.

Yelp
Found my favorite drink shop in the U District. The iced lavender creme earl grey was perfect with strong lavender and earl grey flavors and not watered down at all. The man working there was very kind and knowledgeable about all the teas. The menu is so large there's something there for everyone.

Haneul R.

Yelp
So happy I returned to Tea Republik a few days ago - one of my favorite study spots pre-covid! I haven't been in since March, but the tea was amazing as always. My favorite is the Lavender Cream Earl Grey, but none of their options will disappoint! They're also selling tea leaves right now, which i would 100% recommend. The owner is super friendly and this place has been a favorite for a few years - please support if you're in the area!!

Kimmy L.

Yelp
Note that Tea Republik IS OPEN a for during Covid for TAKEOUT! I decided to buy some loose leaf tea here as an early Xmas gift for one of my friends and to support one of my favorite local businesses on The Ave. I stopped by last Saturday evening and there were people sipping tea and studying inside since Inslee's latest restaurant restrictions on indoor dining had not been put in effect yet. The manager was friendly as always and was wearing a mask. Each oz of loose leaf tea cost $8 and makes about 5 cups of tea; I ordered 2oz of the Green Pear Tea since that's my friend's favorite. I asked the manager how to prepare their French Green Pear Tea House Special, and he said to just add some cream or milk and honey, sugar, or vanilla syrup (like Torani's). I wish he told me the ratios they use, but oh well. He was quick and he even labeled the type of tea, weight of tea, and steep time on the paper bag. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying loose leaf tea to make at home even if you can't enjoy it inside the cafe right now. They have a HUGE SELECTION for every taste and make great gifts!

Eva M.

Yelp
So I was nearby getting food. I recall reading good things about Tea Republik, so I thought I would go in and grab a drink. Foolish mortal. I totally underestimated this place! First, the vibe. This place is like a bar, except for tea, and it's dark inside. Looks like they removed tables in the model to increase spacing. Second, the menu. It has so, so many options that it's almost like a novella. I'm kidding, but it certainly was difficult trying to choose something when I've "just walked in". Third, super nice staff. He answered my questions and made the drinks too. There might have been only 1 or 2 people on staff. Anyway, feeling a bit overwhelmed, we both turned to the little blackboard and ordered from "Today's Specials". Our drinks - 20oz, $5.49 Iced: Formosa Milk Tea - Formosa oolong, honey, and creamer Guapo Kiwi (decaf) - Kiwi strawberry fruit tea, kiwi syrup, passionfruit juice, and a wedge of fresh lemon Both drinks were delicious! The milk tea is basic with a clean, freshly made taste. The fruit tea was very refreshing. Both are worth repeating in the future. The only thing I wish they did differently was not to have put in the straw, or at least ask us. We weren't drinking it right away, and they are paper straws. Those darn things just don't last. Anyway, we'll be back.

Quinn R.

Yelp
My favorite cozy spot in the U District! Incredible tea with lots of great plant milk options. Their tea comes in pots ready to share, perfect for studying or a hangout with friends. Make sure your laptop is charged though, while they have excellent free wifi their wall outlets are few and far between. Highly highly recommend :)

Meg L.

Yelp
This place is an amazing tea place! A great place to come on an afternoon after walking around the University Washington campus. I can't drink anything with caffeine in the afternoon and they have a great decaf selection. Belly dancer was a mix of lavender, rose hip, vanilla cream and chai. Blended perfectly and tasted relaxing. Rose hip and chrysanthemum was a great combination of herbal teas. Would definitely recommend this place and would want to visit post-covid when the indoor seating is back!

Ellen K.

Yelp
The chai is amaaaazing hot or iced! And great ambiance, though it can get crowded. Somehow I always have great conversations at Tea Republik.

Courtney L.

Yelp
[ Visited prior to COVID-19 outbreak ] Even if you made a weekly stop at Tea Republik and ordered a different tea each time, it would still take you at least two years to taste the entire menu. They offer the largest variety of tea I've ever seen, which would marvel even the most avid tea enthusiast. Fruit tea, Rooibos, Chai, Black Tea, White Tea, Oolong and more...any of them can be served hot or iced, so the options are literally endless! Just $5.00 will earn you a large pot of tea and those without milk even include one free refill of hot water. For $0.49 more, you can add honey, cream, or matcha, or purchase an extra cup to split a pot of tea with a friend. So far, I've tried two of their House Specials, both of which were delicious creations. + Vanilla Monks Blend: A soothing mix of black tea with cream and vanilla flavor. Sticking on the more conservative side concerning sweetness, I requested half the amount of vanilla, which turned out perfect. The drink was mellow in flavor with a hint of nuttiness which made it comforting on a cold day. It's not a surprise that this is one of their most popular blends! + China Beauty: Lychee black tea with a floral aroma, livened up with local honey. I enjoyed the delicate lychee flavor, but it was a little subdued behind the sweetness of the honey. I could see this one as a great drink over ice during the Summer months. Understandably, they don't allow outside food or drinks, but I wish they had a broader food selection. I realize that tea is their specialty, but some more appealing offerings other than bagels and small pastries would be much appreciated. I noticed that this appears to be a popular study spot for students as most customers were sipping tea alongside their laptop or books. Two of us decided to come here for a catch up session and although we were using our "inside voices", I couldn't help but feel like we were disrupting a place of zen. Perhaps this isn't the best place to be social, but if you need somewhere to relax or hunker down and concentrate with a pleasant beverage, Tea Republik is a perfect setting.

Jiamae W.

Yelp
Such a cute and cozy place to study or get work done. It's quiet and everyone else is being very productive too. Whenever I want to get work done, this is always a go to. The drinks never disappoint. They have such unique drinks with flavors that you can't get anywhere else around here. I got the waikiki and it came in a cute little glass (a little sweet but still so good). When you get a hot tea, it comes in a little tea pot and you can get a refills of hot water to steep more tea in it! I feel like you could get anything on their entire menu and not be disappointed, their teas are amazing.

Valerie W.

Yelp
TEA! SO.MUCH.TEA! I'm not a huge tea drinker, but sometimes it just hits the spot. But I need real tea...GOOD tea. Not the cheap stuff! Low and behold Tea Republik where you can find just about any tea that tickles your fancy. Green, Black, Flavored, fruity, all yumminess. They have quite a robust menu and the tea is all loose-leaf from what I've seen in the plethora of jars. Choose a straight up tea or one of their 'tea cocktails' if you will. Most come with sugar or vanilla flavoring which I usually opt out of, but you can add cream or anything of the like. All are super flavorful and delicious. The atmosphere is pretty chill. Some tables and even lounge type chairs adorn the small shop. Most people are students hanging out from what I've observed. All in all, highly recommend stopping in!

Lauren H.

Yelp
I was looking for milk tea shops in U District and remembered a friend recommended this place. SO glad I stopped by. I was blown away by how good the tea was. I had the Lavender Creme Earl Grey (hot). The tea had a very strong lavender flavor. You can see the generous serving of lavender buds in the strainer. The combination of lavender and earl grey created a unique flavor with the lavender being the dominant player. Every sip was pure delight. Looking forward to trying other specials next time. The WiFi and spacious tabletops allowed me to squeeze in an hour or so of work while I nursed my pot of tea. The noise level was a bit high for work/study but some headphones could probably take care of that. Dining in has another upside of preventing plastic waste!

Lois L.

Yelp
Been a loyal fan since college. Now working from home, I find myself wandering back in time to time. I used to spend hours studying here, drinking so much lavender earl grey to the point of a stomach ache. Completely worth it - 10/10 would do it again - I know all my friends would say the same. They got rid of the charging ports though so make sure you're running at 100%! the france pear is also a fave

Hiral P.

Yelp
Love this place. Probably the best place off campus to study at UW. You get your personal tea kettle and the teas are so good and there's so many options. Definitely recommend this place

Krystal L.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place. If you want real tea with your drinks and not the oasis crap, this should be your spot. The tables fill up quick, especially during busy seasons at UW but it's worth the trip! They have OUTLETS! It is also a bit dim so reading may not be the best idea in here? If you get a warm tea, you may or may not fall asleep. Prices are fair and they offer a counter filled with pastries items. They do NOT have coffee (I overheard someone coming in to ask that). I love the Thai tea, it's my go-to drink and it is on the sweeter side because they put condensed milk in it but it's delicious!

Audrey L.

Yelp
Super vibey, great for a small date, hanging out with friends and studying! Recommend their Irish cream cherry tea! You get a pot to yourself and it's just very cute and fun to pour and refill!

Jacques I.

Yelp
What a wonderful tea spot along the Ave. While in the area for a meeting I needed caffeine prior to, so I was planning to get coffee until I saw Tea Republik just steps away from me. Therefore, I decided to give it a try, and am so glad I did. I walked in and there were many students hanging out in Tea Republik, either on one of the couches or at a table, working on their laptops with either a full pot of tea or an iced beverage. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I knew I wanted something to-go and iced. At the counter where you order the employee asked if she could make any recommendations, as she saw me flipping through the menu pages. I told her that I love earl grey tea, so she pointed out that their most popular drink is the Lavender Cream Earl Grey Tea, which can be made iced. I decided to get a large of that, which is only 50 cents more. Lavender Cream Earl Grey Tea...FTWWWW! Made with both lavender herbal tea and cream earl grey black tea, it's highly-caffeinated, which is exactly what I needed. I love both lavender and earl grey flavors, so this drink was perfect for me. The tea flavors were complemented by honey, soy milk and vanilla, as the sweetness brought out the flavors of the lavender and earl grey even more. I don't think I could ever get anything else from Tea Republik. It's as if this drink was made for me. For tea in the University District, Tea Republik is your jam. I implore you to try the Lavender Cream Earl Grey Tea. But if you so foolishly wish to get something else, the menu is extensive and has a lot to offer for all.

Amanda H.

Yelp
Awesome, quiet place to work on the Ave. I like their cream teas (aka milk tea) because they are freshly and natural tasting, however since the tea flavor is a little weak it will generally not be my go to. Would recommend for tea lovers and people looking for a place to work, but aren't looking to get coffee! The employees here are super helpful and patient when helping you pick a drink from their multi page menu.

Paulina H.

Yelp
Sadly I forgot what this drink called, but I would say they actually use real tea! Because I could feel the caffeine hitting me hard couple hours later I finished this drink! For me it's a little too sweet, but I love the flavor of this tea. I think there were too much different things in my tea and make it soo good! I was craving for bubble tea but then I saw this place and heard everyone talks about it, so I was like why I don't give it a try! When I walk in, it's dark there's only one person working there. He's really helpful to help me to pick a drink, I was really indecisive! Food: 9/10 (I would definitely go back, but ugh too much caffeine for me, my whole body was shaking for at least 2 hours) Service: 9/10 Environment: 6/10

Yelp
Tea Republik is a super cute and relaxing spot on The Ave next to the University of Washington. It is a great place to work/study, have a quiet conversation with a friend, and explore a wide variety of different tea. This isn't a bustling boba cafe -- it's got good tea house vibes. The lighting is subdued. There's quiet music and people talk casually in soft voices. There are colorful flower lanterns hanging from the ceiling and bamboo accents on the walls. There are small tables around the room, and a large couch if you'd prefer to relax with a group. And they have free wifi. The menu has a lot of options: tea with fresh fruit, sweetened house teas, tea with cream, loose leaf teas, traditional and naturally flavored green and black teas, chai lattes, white tea, artisan hand-tied teas, yerba mate, rooibos, herbal tisane, fruit teas, organic teas, and more! Don't be intimidated if you don't know much about tea (like me and my friend). You are sure to see something on the menu that catches your fancy. Iced drinks come in a tall curved glass, and hot drinks come in super cute self-serve tea pots. We ordered an Irish Cream Cherry Tea (iced, with cream) and a Lavender Cream Earl Grey (hot, with soy). Both were great! I was also excited to see Hojicha on the menu -- gotta go back for that. Also, kudos to the one-man army who was taking orders, running the register, making tea, bringing out the tea to the tables, clearing off the dishes from those tables, washing those dishes, and more without missing a beat.

Yelp
My favorite study spot on the ave! I've only been here to study during the week around 2:00~ pm but it's not ridiculously over crowded like many of the boba places are on the ave; functions wonderfully as a place to study, meet with friends, or go on a date. Prices are reasonable for high quality loose leaf tea that's brewed with care, sweetness level can be adjusted (if a sweetened tea) but works perfectly with the standard sweetness--never overpowering. Really wonderful (I think he's the owner?) gentleman that takes the orders and brings them to your table. Also has the cleanest bathroom on the entire ave. Seriously. Thought I was in Bellevue for a minute.
