On the Grid : teakha

"Teakha serves exquisite teas steeped to perfection in an atmosphere of charm and homeliness. I love the chai tea with its spicy milky warmth. I love the green tea mousse cake with its rich matcha flavor and oh-so-velvety mousse. The space is small with half of it being taken up by the kitchen but worry not! – there's another cosy little area outside in the back alley carpeted with astro turf. Teakha is truly a little gem." - Angela Ho

I thought this nice Chinese resto no longer existed only for Waze to lead me to its new and bigger site about a kilometer and a half away from its former location. What I observed (I hope my taste buds are discriminating enough) was that the food did not seem to contain much MSG, unlike many Chinese restos around. I liked the way the beef noodle soup was prepared, with that noticeable but not imposing flavor of fried garlic in it. Shrimp hakaw and pork siomai were great choices from a list of dimsum specialties. I also loved the fried chicken with oatmeal on my first try. This is another hidden gem in the Kapitolyo Pasig area.

Tried Teakha for the first time in their Pasig location and it was so good. It's the perfect spot if you're looking for authentic and delicious Chinese food. I highly recommend the dimsum, fried rice and we even enjoyed the mango sago. Everything was a 10/10! For big groups, you can even book the VIP room for privacy and the service is excellent.

Everything is so yummy! The Lechon Macau is the star of the show 🤩 Good servings and fast service as well. Thank you Mam Tet for assisting us ❤️

They opened at 8AM, perfect for an early morning dimsum breakfast. We ordered hakaw and xiaolongpao and both were steamed fresh upon order and were just what we needed. Ms Tess is super attentive to our needs and made us feel very at home ❤️ Will definitely come back (and will possibly be regulars hehe)

Tea Kha Chinese Restaurant is absolutely outstanding! Their dim sum is some of the best I've ever had everything is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The spring rolls are especially superb crispy on the outside, packed with delicious filling, and bursting with authentic taste. And you must try their Pata Tim - it's unbelievably tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth with every bite. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is cozy and welcoming. Tea Kha is definitely my new go-to spot for Chinese comfort food. Highly recommended !

Went back and it's still our favorite spot for claypot dishes, xiao long bao, etc. the beef brisket noodle bowl seemed smaller but it's still good! Friendly staff as always. _____ 2023: We love it here. Staff are attentive and food is great quality. We already tried the dimsum, hotpot and lauriat set. Lauriat set is truly a feast -- you'll bring home a lot of leftovers. Too many good dishes so I couldn't recommend just one. When we miss Chinatown or Banawe Ave, we just walk to Teakha.

Second time here at Teakha and I’m now writing a review because the food is delish. This time around we ordered their Beef Balls and Xiao Long Bao (no photo because it was gone in 60 seconds) for dimsum, Kingdao Spare Ribs, Steamed Suahe, Steamed Crab with Sotanghon, Beef Tendon Noodles, Salted Pepper Squid, Lo Han Chai, and Beef Tenderloin Chinese Style. We ordered a lot because there were four of us plus we had an appetite for some seafood. First off, let me commend the chef for the taste of everything we ordered. All I can say is that the seafood were fresh and did not have that “sea” taste. The shrimp and the crab were just delicious - this is the first time that I actually enjoyed “doing the work” of peeling the shrimp and cracking the crab because of the taste - it’ll make you want to order and eat more rice. The Salted Pepper Squid was good especially with a touch of vinegar. Now some criticism on some of the meat we ordered. The Kingdao Spare Ribs was okay and the Beef Tenderloin was good, they’re both a bit sweet for my taste but the tenderloin was juicy - so i’ll give it additional props for the juiciness. If you definitely like a sweeter side on the dishes you like to order, definitely order these. Overall, our experience here was worth, it’s not Gloria Maris level but it could be. Will definitely try some of their other seafood next time especially the Lapu-Lapu and the Lobster. Will also try out some of their roasting options. If you are craving for some good seafood, definitely check this place out.
