Been here to this lovely independent cafe a few times and it has been consistently great. The owner, Lindsey, is absolutely lush - warm and humorous. I love the Durham Miners’ tea - nice strong builders tea - and the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel is delicious too.

Lovely staff, very chatty and very welcoming. The tea room was small but cozy and with very comfortable facilities. We shared a High Tea, which consisted of a sandwich, a fruit scone and a slice of cake. Good food, the prices however were too high.

This tea house probably is the most classical designed British tea place you could find in Durham. They have good amount of options for teas, and very nice desserts. They offer afternoon tea cakes&sandwiches set. I am particularly very fond of the second floor. It’s so lovely designed and so cottage like. One of the best thing about this place is they have a very big and good conditioned bathroom which is quite rare to see for tea houses. I am really amazed by that as well.

Had a lovely time here, got a dairy free high tea with sandwich, scone and delicious orange/cinnamon cake. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and ownership! We would come back!

Me and my partner popped in for a cosy place to have to tea and this place was perfect. The staff member was so friendly and made us feel welcomed. We had tea and cakes - the pistachio loaf was beautiful and I was told it was dairy free. There was a couple of gluten free cakes also. Lovely independent store and worth the visit.

The most delicious scones we have ever eaten! A lovely experience at this tearoom yesterday, extremely friendly and welcoming, despite bringing a young baby and cumbersome pram. Desperate to visit again soon!

If you love homemade cake, you MUST visit this place. The Mars Bar Cookie pie is THE most delicious chocolate experience that I have ever had! There is a wonderful variety on the menu, and you are totally spoilt for choice. Additionally, there is an array of tempting, savoury food including homemade soup. There was seating indoors and outdoors. Lindsay was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The Tealicious Tea Room is a must if you are visiting the city.

Yelp
As an American, we were searching for a place to have proper tea. This lovely tea shop did not disappoint. The tea was spectacular with several dozen to choose from. Delicious sandwiches, sausage rolls, sweet and savory scones and a variety of amazing sweets. Make a reservation and go, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Stopping in Durham on our way home from Newcastle wasn't originally planned, but we're so glad we did. Not only is a it a beautiful and historic place to visit, but we had the good fortune to come upon Tealicious Tea Room, on Elvet Bridge. Already busy as we entered even though it was within the last hour of opening that day, we were lucky enough to find a table, so we sat down and had a read of the menu. The decor is simple and classic, the perfect understated tea room. We read the menu and a friendly smiling staff member came over to take our order. We chose to go for a high tea for two, but were told that as it was near the end of the day, all of the scones had sold out (I'm not surprised), but instead offered us a toasted teacake, which was just as good if you ask me. For our tea I chose vanilla Earl Grey, and my partner chose the house blend. The tea was brought first, and as expected, was of a superb quality, and very enjoyable indeed. Our high tea came not long after, and we were surprised, as we this high tea was presented on a traditional cake stand, more akin to a traditional Afternoon Tea. We most certainly did not complain! The bottom tier started us with our sandwich choices, we chose roast ham on brown, and regional cheese and chutney, also on brown. These came with side sauces of a very tasty mustard mayonnaise, and the chutney mentioned, as well as some crisps. The centre tier was taken up by two giant slabs of cake! Real big boy sizes! My partner chose a mixed berry cake, and although I was greatly tempted by a salted caramel cake, I opted for a lemon Victoria sponge. The sandwiches were very enjoyable, and the cakes were absolutely delicious! Wonderfully moist and flavourful, but never becoming sickly or too much. The top tier for now simply had jam and cream on it, as our friendly member of staff told us just to give her a nod when we were ready for our toasted teacake, so we could still have it warm. I didn't get a photo of it, but it was huge, and wonderfully light and tasty. We really enjoyed this impromptu little visit to Tealicious, and we appreciate that although they were busy and it was nearing closing, we never felt rushed or that we were a bother. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, and made us feel welcome. Whenever we next venture to Durham, we will definitely be returning to Tealicious!

Yelp
Staff are very friendly, the view is nice, the food is delectable and the best part is it's very close to the Marriott Royal County.

Yelp
A fairly new, cute little tea/coffee/cake place. Seems to be family-run. A nice selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, along with a few sandwich selections and nice homemade soups. Also a nice selection of teas, coffees, and sodas. The space is very small and cozy which makes it feel like you are sitting around in someones house. This also means it can fill up very fast and get sort of crowded. If you can avoid the mad rush it is a really relaxing place to sit around with a friend.
