I'm not quite sure what we expected, a museum of modern art meets light & colour......we booked in advance for our November 2025 Sunday morning visit. To be fair it wasn't that busy so we probably didn't need to, but it did save a little time.
As you enter you go from bright sunlight into the dark, and it stays that way until you leave, for us that was over two hours later. The reception area is dominated by security checks before you're then guided into a short explanation of the attraction accompanied by some 'dos' and 'donts'.
Each area is different, sadly two were closed for maintenance on the day that we visited, the 'laser light show' and the 'foam' area, but that didn't detract from our visit. Each one is best described by photos, some really play tricks on your brain, images projected onto the walls give the impression of the walls moving, lights and images projected through the floor to the area below give the impression of the floor moving and the flora, made of a substantial thick mesh gently moves up and down as you walk over it, so your brain is processing three different movements at anyone time, so walkimg in a straight line isn't easy. It's good, really good.
Then there's the room where everyone, children and adults alike, can use one of the various templates to create a small piece of artwork which the staff then copy, and within seconds it's transposed onto the floors and walls of the room, where you can see your piece of artwork come to life. Great for small children and big kids.
There are staff at the entrance to each area they're friendly, polite and helpful as were all the staff that we met.
The water area is interesting, very relaxing, once you've removed your shoes and socks and left then in the lockers provided.
Very enjoyable. So glad that we went. Entry is about £30 each. Worth booking in advance on busy days.
