Center of town. Classical architecture exterior and Moorish interior. Get tickets day prior to performance in alley on side of building leading to funicular. Cash only. Long wait for tickets and to enter theatre.

The theater is beautiful and performances were awesome, but there is not air conditioning inside the theater. Even though Guanajuato weather was in the 50s, the theater inside was too warm in mezzanine area. Leg room was pretty bad too if you are at least 5’ 9”. If you are taller than that, maybe stick to ground floor where it looked like one has more leg room. We left at intermission because the leg room was uncomfortable in mezzanine seats. We were on section P1-06, seats P6-3 and P6-4.

We were fortunate enough to catch the Bafug dance show here. The performance by the university dancers was awesome. The theater itself is breathtaking and not be missed. It makes sense to try to catch a show since it's not much more than paying just to see the theater.

Guanajuato is a city brimming with historical charm, and El Teatro Juárez is undoubtedly one of its glittering jewels. From the moment you set eyes on its impressive facade, you know you're in for something special. But the real magic happens when you step inside. The interior is a symphony of colonial elegance, a captivating blend of history and artistry that leaves you breathless. Every detail, from the intricate carvings to the opulent decor, speaks volumes about the rich cultural heritage of this magnificent theater. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a performance by the University Symphony Orchestra at El Teatro Juárez. The experience was simply unforgettable. The acoustics were superb, and the atmosphere, imbued with the theater's historical aura, elevated the performance to an entirely new level. Whether you're a lover of music, history, or simply breathtaking architecture, El Teatro Juárez is a must-see destination in Guanajuato. Don't just admire it from the outside - venture in and be prepared to be transported to another era. You won't be disappointed!

Teatro Juárez is an absolute architectural gem and a must-visit in Guanajuato! The stunning design alone is worth the trip, but the experience gets even better with its affordable prices—such a refreshing contrast to what you’d pay in the U.S. The symphonic orchestra here is phenomenal, blending incredibly gifted local and international musicians into a performance that’s pure magic. I opted for general entrance and scored an amazing balcony seat right near the orchestra—some of the best views in the house! This is hands-down a top destination and an unmissable experience in Guanajuato. Five stars all the way!
