We stopped in Cadiz while on a long cruise from Lisbon. We spent the day walking around the old city and ended up here to see the Romas ruins. Remarkable set of preserved ruins! We toured the inside portion and then went thru the tunnel to an observation deck over looking the theatre. Fantastic site. We loved it as we really like history that has been preserved and is available for us to view. Museum is nicely presented and staff were very nice.

I loved this place. Walking in the path of the Romans. Reminds me of Catania, Sicily. Excellent explanations. What’s more friendly staff and free of charge. A privilege to have visited 🙏

Free entry and very interesting! you can walk through the old Roman passage and see the ancient seating area. Doesn’t take long to visit, but definitely worth a stop while exploring Cádiz.

Free entrance which is always good. Can clearly see the theatre seating area as you can walk out into the seating locations. Limited to likely a 15 min stay though

The Cathedral is beautiful and well maintained and the tower gives the best views of the City!

Having seen many Roman theaters, this still was quite wonderful and it's free to boot! Well worth a visit!

The Teatro Romano de Cádiz next to the old cathedral of Cádiz, Spain, was only rediscovered in 1980. It functioned for 400 years from the 1st century BC to the 3rd AD. Subterranean corridors provide access. It's claims to be the second largest ancient Roman theater in the world (after that of Pompeii).
