Ted Rhodes was an excellent golf course! Very nice! Great upkeep. Prices were decent for walking. I don't know cart prices. It's a bit more spread out than many courses, which makes for more walking. It's not terrible; just know it's more, especially from hole 1 to 2 and 8 to 9.

This course boasts water hazards and bunkers throughout, and the greens were kept nice and tight! After a long drive walking 9 was just what I needed, and at an affordable price. My interactions with patrons and employees were positive and friendly! Not to mention this course has a rich history, sense of place and time .

Beautiful public course. Greens are well cared for well allowing for a wonderful putting experience.

This is me and my buddies’ favorite mud wrestling spot! Mother Nature hasn’t reclaimed this wetland yet, but boy is she trying. There’s really nothing quite like paying $50 to be yelled at by an irrationally angry man in the clubhouse before riding down the cart paths looking like a WW2 duck-boat. Bonus points for freshly clear cutting half the hills on the course, that certainly won’t lead to more runoff!

Very rude and racist staff we dealt with today! We are beginner golfers and wanted to go out and enjoy a warm Saturday on the green , and we rushed the whole by the staff and management . We were told to hurry up when we were playing , saying that we were holding the line up and it was a group on the same hole as us . Half way through hole 4 he came back and said that he’s been watching us and saying that we are too slow . Overall worst golf experience i ever had !

Google
Great city course loved it for coming from out of town to play. Thank you very cordial and courteous staff.

You young guys seem to be the ones with the power trip. No course allows six-somes. Zero. Rarely will some allow 5-somes. The usual is 4. Have you ever golfed before in your life?

Was expecting to have a nice outing with my friends but right as we entered the clubhouse it was clear the manager had a personal vendetta against us assumingely due to our age. Probably the least up-kept course ive ever played on, super dry which is surprising due to the amount of water located on and around the course. Surprised they couldn't get any of it onto the actual course. We had a group of six and were threatened to be kicked off the course if we played together while we saw multiple groups of 6 and even a group of 7 that were not confronted one time and were allowed to continue together. If the staff even put 10% of the effort and time they spent houding us into the actual course it might be worth $10 a round. Also spray painted greens are pathetic and lazy. Luckily for this eye sore of a course you aren't able to rate it 0 stars.

Yelp
I just wouldn't go. The club house guys are rude and we're not good people to us our whole experience. Showed up 5 minutes early ready to go and the idiot gave away our tee time. They pack the course like sardines having people tee off every 5 minutes. They still walk ins in between every group they can. This course is completely unprofessional some say barely a golf course. Gentlemen's game sure not here.

Yelp
Staff (Jim) was extremely rude and yelled about driving one foot off the cart path, as I had to dodge a foot of standing water. It appears this is reoccurring behavior and someone should address Jim about the way he treats paying customers.

Yelp
From out of town. Went to the course to have some fun for a bachelor party. From the beginning had an awful experience. Front desk employee - Jim - certainly is not winning employee of the month anytime soon. Was extremely unfriendly, negative, and frankly just rude. Upon getting golf carts - after watching him not allow the people behind us to get carts - we began play. On hole 7 we got another chance to see lovely employee of the month Jim where he interrupted one of our player's backswings to inform us our pace of play was too slow. We aren't the best golfers. We just wanted to have fun. This ended up being a 15+ minute conversation with him yelling and nearly kicking us off the course- simply because we weren't PGA Tour level golfers and played slow because of it. All in all- not a great experience. Would not recommend. Find another course.

Yelp
I'm usually not one to leave a negative review, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt .But today my whole experience with Ted Rhodes was terrible starting with my phone call. I called at around noon to ask how busy the course was and to see if there were open tee times. Was responded with short snappy comments ,such as "our sheet is full, so I would say it's busy" -[ JIM ] And hanging up mid phone call. After reserving a 3:40 and 3:50 tee time. We arrived with plenty of time to check in and load our bags. At 3:38 about to tee off, JIM told us to wait because the 3:30 group hasn't gone yet. After waiting 10 minutes with no group in front of us or behind us in sight we decided to play. We were two groups, a group of 4, and a group of 3 , minus 1 player that was not playing. So 3 pairs, we decided to play best ball . We played as a bigger group, but had a great pace of play considering 3 pair playing. And since having back to back tee times reserved, we we're well within our time. After playing 6 holes, JIM comes to speak with us, initiating a very aggressive and negative tone. Telling us we were slowing the course down, we were the only people out on carts left [which was not true] , we weren't allowed to play as a big group, and not to come back to Ted Rhodes. This interaction lasted approximately 15 minutes and furthermore slowing the pace of play, contradicting what he was trying to enforce. No matter how much we tried to reason with him, he didn't want to hear what we had to say. By this point, the group that was well behind us, is now right behind us waiting waiting at the tee box. Overall, was excited to come check this course out since I'm not from around the area and saw decent number of good reviews. Now, I will never recommend this golf course to any of my friends, family, or acquaintances coming up to the Nashville area. It will be well worth the 15 -25 minute drive to go somewhere else. Jim single handedly ruined this golf trip for us. From start to finish. The other man at the front desk was very friendly.

Yelp
Maybe the best course to play in Nashville for the price you'll pay. Metro-owned and operated, but well taken care of. The two 9's are very different, but each enjoyable in their own way. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Jim was the least professional person I have met in my life. Instead of politely telling us that we couldn't play best ball. He came out screaming at us that we were taking too long and playing in a group (Which he told us we could play as a group before we started playing). He was just looking for a problem that day and must have ran out of tampons. We then asked him to point out any groups that we were holding up and he just stood there dumb founded because he couldn't because there was no one behind us. it's no shock he's working at a golf course at his age because he could never last in a real occupation. Last but not least he's so incompetent that he didn't even notice that arguing with us for 20 minutes just further delayed us finishing

Yelp
Super happy times! Course is in great condition both fairways and greens, staff is very helpful and nice, and pace of play was a little slow but honestly just fine. The scenery is beautiful, so many water features and unique paths to the different holes! Lots of wildlife, tons of trees. The trip to part of the back nine is like a little adventure. There's plenty of hole diversity. No real elevation changes but they aren't needed. The fairways are on the thin side and there are plenty of bunkers. This course is challenging but so fun. The carts could use new brakes and have zero unique features lol but it's what I expected from a public course. They aren't trashed, I can't complain!! The clubhouse is lacking but they do have basic snacks and restrooms and they didn't throw me out for bringing my own water. Overall, had such a great time and we will definitely be back to give this course a proper beating!

Yelp
Ted Rhodes Park was founded in 1954, and is a plot of land with over 261 acres. It has public restrooms, a football/multipurpose field, soccer fields, tennis courts, a golf course, and a paved pathway- one arm of a Nashville greenway. This was originally called Cumberland Golf Course. At the time, there were a couple of golf courses in town, but they were segregated and there weren't any for the Black community. A group of 150 Black golfers petitioned the city government to reuse an old city property as a golf course for the Black community. It was integrated shortly after it opened. The name was changed in 1969 after Ted Rhodes, a popular professional Black golfer from Nashville. The clubhouse was built in 1976, and was briefly recently tossed out as a potential home for the Nashville Professional Soccer Team. Ted Rhodes park has been home to lacrosse and rugby tournaments and festivals,

Yelp

Yelp
I had the most awful experience today at Ted Rhodes Golf Course. We got stuck behind THREE groups of six. The golf course staff was awful and acted like they were annoyed by us being there. They gave us no heads up on the huge groups. Horribly managed, Unbearably slow play. It's a beautiful course, but I won't be going back.

Dan Z.

Yelp
The Good: it was easy ti get a tee tine. The Bad: The person checking us in seemed annoyed that we were there. I came with a party of two and he made us wait for another party of two to arrive and then put us with a kid that appeared to be eight years old. The course was not that nice either and loaded with people hitting balls into other fairways and green areas.

John O.

Yelp
I really like this city owned course. The tee boxes need work but the course is in good shape. This is not a grip it and rip it course. You need to think about where you want to hit the ball. You will also see that the front and back nine were built years apart from each other so they have a different look and feel.

Yelp
Decent burger. Friendly guy works there. Took over four hours to get in 14 holes. Had to call it quits early. One grouping had three groups behind them and no ranger ever came to remedy the situation. Actual golf course is average at best. Place is a clown show. Stay away.

Yelp
Gargantuan greens , long challenging four pars (and three pars ) make this muni fun. Routing is easy for walkers with the exception of the 10th to 11th hole which is a hike.

Yelp
FUN FUN FUN.....What a great day! My hubby and I had a wonderful time. Nice course and friendly staff! Nice to see smiles and kind people. Nice course... I am anxious to see the greens during the summer. Great for beginners and experienced golfers...great value!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this course. I played the first nine on a very cold windy day and had the course to myself! I thought it was in good condition and I had a lot of fun. It looks like a well-designed course.

Yelp
Hello, The course is in great shape! The employees were very nice to me and my friends. The greens were true and the fairways were nice. All of the ball washers had water and soap in them and worked. It was very nice and great day to play golf. I would play here again. Nice Course!!
