The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Albuquerque, New Mexico - AFAR

"A clandestine speakeasy that rewards curiosity with a menu of elevated, creatively named cocktails—expect playful flavor riffs such as a blueberry‑infused tipple or a green tea–accented milk punch—and a discovery experience that adds to the fun of the visit." - Aislyn Greene

What an awesome little place! This alley entrance was enthralling and once we were inside we were wowed by the moody dark decor that set the mood for the evening. We sat next to a “fire” in a cozy corner, the staff was super friendly, and our server suggested the perfect weekly special to entice the taste buds. They had a food menu, and we were impressed and confused by their offerings 😂 Their charcuterie board was fantastic, beyond expectations in terms of the quality of ingredients at this spirit centric space. The bag of chicharrones that looked like they came from a gas station that we had to untie and eat out of the plastic bag was such a departure from the elevated experience brought on by the surroundings lol. But they were still great! The drinks were the key to the great evening, and they kept coming, and they were each unique in flavor and aroma. And what a cool bathroom! Definitely selfie worthy.

Next time you’re in Albuquerque, do yourself a favor and seek out Teddy Roe’s Bar—a true hidden gem. Tucked behind a bakery and accessed through an unassuming alleyway, the secret entrance is part of the adventure. Once inside the cozy, intimate space, ask for Arcy, a master mixologist who crafts the most incredible martini flights. Feeling adventurous? Simply name your spirit and whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, sour, or smoky—then sit back and let the magic happen.

I booked a table for my boyfriend’s 40th birthday . I was googling surfing looking for the perfect spot when I came across Teddys . It was a place I knew we both hadnt been to and the speakeasy was the winning factor . After reading about it it said it was a quiet , intimate atmosphere. Being that I had been to Vernon’s speakeasy expecting it to be similar , however it was not . As we walked into this tiny little “bakery” all we were told were to read to “rules” before entering . Once entering it was extremely loud with people walking around table to table as if it were a sports bar . No one was in dress code . We didn’t get any kind of cool back story or anything . Not the mention the place is TINY . Our waitress was nice but was Wearing fabletics leggings and a tank top. No one or nothing was playing the role as to other speakeasy’s i been to. The food menu contained of only 3 main dishes to choose from. Food was a bit different but not terrible . And the drinks were good . Over all I did not enjoy the experience and would never recommend or return.

Everything was fantastic! Drinks were amazing, and the service was top notch. It's a tiny place so it seems kind of crowded, but service is handled perfectly, drinks are made skillfully, and you can tell it's a real labor of love, like you've been invited into someone's home, almost. We were there for comedy night which was definitely not what we'd counted on when we decided to check the place out, but we were so glad we caught these dudes. (PS, in general for the ABQ scene, more lady comics, lol.) Definitely a highlight of our visit.

Always a top notch experience. Incredible drinks and awesome food. They even occasionally have off menu desserts.

Fun little speak easy with some amazing drinks! There is a reservation fee but it’s definitely worth it for vacation or a special occasion. Really cool vibes and so many amazing drinks to try! I would definitely go back!

Amazing drinks and atmosphere!!! Very small space, so reservations are needed. Food was also very tasty. We got the fried olives and French fries. Both were delicious! Highly recommend!!!

Didn't like the drinks from their specialty cocktail menu. Too much herbal liquor in them. All the drinks had amedicine like taste. The regular old fashioned was good.
