Google
Fast service, friendly staff. Portions huge. But the taste, Amazing!!! Everything was wonderful.

Google
Really good Mexican food, and definitely on my lists of favorites in the Phoenix area. I prefer this style over TexMex hands down. I went there twice on my recent visit to Scottsdale and will be back next time i'm in town for sure. Both meals were perfectly prepared and the right amount of spicy. The chips and salsa were equally great. My only issue on both visits was that service was rather slow. It was hard to get the attention of anyone to get refills of chips/salsa or tea. Other than that, no complaints at all. I think when the weather is warmer it would great to hang on their patio and have margaritas as well.

Man I’m so on the fence here. It’s been around for decades, busy lunch spot, great outside area with misters and all, but the service was awful. Walking in there was a sign stating wait to be seated. We waited and waited when someone finally came to seat us. Our server took some time as well. The menu isn’t huge, but has some really great options. I opted for the two it combo and was so excited to see a shrimp taco option. They doesn’t happen often on the combo items. I added a chicken enchilada with green sauce as well. My other family member ordered three items but with agreed beef. Chips and salsa came and the salsa was awesome. It had a great kick to it. Chops were ok, but I’ve had better. Our food came pretty quick. The shrimp taco was such a let down. No flavor, no toppings besides some grilled onion I’m guessing …it was so charred who knows. The only taste i could find was the smoke of the grill. No sauce nothing, bummer. My enchilada was great. It had good sauce and lots of chicken. Other food ordered with hard shell was soggy at pick up. Flavor was decent there. We sat our entire meal with no refills or check in. If in the area I’d maybe stop again to try some other items, but definitely not drive as far as we did this time just to try them out.

Excellent food! The salsa was delicious. It was very crowded but we understand why. Our food came out very quickly. Everything was really good and hot and fresh. Had chicken and beef fajitas tacos (huge and yummy), 1 chicken hard shell taco and 1 ground beef hard shell taco. Fantastic! Great flavors and good-sized portions. We would eat here again. Margarita was awesome, too!

Edgar I love your energy you were very hospitable and efficient he ran around the restaurant assisting each and every customer with a smile and was very attentive. You guys should be happy to have him anywhere give this man a raise. Bar and serving is a hard job but he made it look effortless !!! Highly recommend !!!

Google
The lunch special is a really good deal. I had the Burrito and Chicken added. It also tasted great too. My dad had the same, but with Pork. He also really enjoyed it too. We got to sit at the Presidential Table. This is the table President Bush sat at when he visited un 2004. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will be going back. It is also a great place to bring out of state guests who want a genuine Phoenix restaurant to eat.

Google
What a fun spot! I’ve been driving by for years and finally decided to stop in with a friend. We loved it! I had the Taco Combo Plate with Carne Asada and Beef. I got both of them with a corn tortilla which was great. Both tacos were big too! Very filling meal. My friend got the half order of nachos. We thought he ordered a full when it first came out because it was so big! Know that the half order of nachos is probably enough for one person. The atmosphere is great as well. We love local spots like this and wish we had stopped in sooner. Overall, hard to go wrong here it seems. We will be back!

Google
Everything was cooked very well except for the pork because it was dry. They tried to cover it up with green sauce(it was a tamale). All food was lightly seasoned. The I really enjoyed the cheese crisps. Adding the complimentary salsa on top was delicious. The messed up on my wife's Crunchy carne asada taco with no pico de gallo. (1. they gave her a soft one and brought a hard taco shell for her to transfer the taco into the shell afterthe mix up, 2. She order another la cart and the brought one with pico de gallo. 3. The made the correct one). The fajita Nachos was tortilla chips, cheese, onion, and a little pico. I was really disappointed I was expecting fajita ingredients sprinkled on top of Nachos(layer of refried beans, tortilla chips, meat of choice, cheese, and sour cream).

Yelp
Been coming here for 40 years. Wonderful food, friendly service in an Arcadia neighborhood. First place my family wants to go when they are in Phoenix from Singapore and Washington.

Cyndi S.

Yelp
Service awful. Chips brought to the table were all broken small pieces. Brought more chips no salsa. Had to request check as server kept us waiting forever to leave.

Yelp
Great service. Food tasted so good. This restaurant was recommended by my doctor; they catered her wedding so I figured it must be good. I had a lunch combo with machaca enchilada and red beef tamale. The bathroom was a bit uncomfortable to enter due to the tight and dark space. Once inside the toilet /sink room... it was better. I'll be back to try other menu offerings. Enjoy!

Yelp
Late night dinner at TeePee tonight. Thankfully I was sat immediately. Within 30 seconds I had a menu, red plastic cup of ice water, chips, salsa and hot sauce set in front of me. If it's possible to avoid the dinner rush, absolutely do so, because the food and the service here is excellent, but they get BUSY! Pricing is fair for what it is. This is classic American style Mexican food restaurant, with big portions, combo plates, and a wide variety of dishes and offerings. Expect to take leftovers home.

Yelp
So my mom and I came here the other day. Our first time, the food was good they have great serving sizes. They give chips and salsa once you seat down. The service no complaints the guy was on top of it. The only thing we didn't care for is how close the seats were. Feels as if they put as many booths together in a room and enough space to walk around in. Not happy about that. If we go back and eat there we will try the patio outside next time.

Yelp
Tee Pee Mexican restaurant was a decent option for lunch. We were able to get in quickly without a need for a reservation. Food was decent "home cooked" Mexican food in a rustic atmosphere for a restaurant that's been around for a long time. My cheese enchilada was good and the crunchy beef taco was just ok. Nothing fancy but decent food.

Yelp
First time! Crazzzy seen this for years always heard about it from friends but somehow we never went. Now we have and it was great! Super fast service at the bar. Food was great nice clientele and again fast service.... Prices were awesome. Will be back

Yelp
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! It's an iconic place to eat, we go for Michael and the food. You never know who you will see :)

Yelp
We make the drive to Arcadia from Mesa just for TeePee. If you want retro, this is your place. Vinyl booths, Formica tables, DeGrazia style art -- it's like you're stepping back in time--and I LOVE it! The servers are fantastic, and when they heard me make a joke about forgetting my glasses, she asked if I needed some readers. She brought me a couple of pairs to choose from! Yay! The food is traditional and delicious, and the portions are huge. There is a presidential platter, which is the dish that George Bush chose when he ate at TeePee. NOTE: There aren't any tables and chair sets, if I remember correctly. All booths. The booths in the dining room seat four, two on each side. The seat larger parties in two booths that are divided but right next to each other. It shouldn't be a big deal.

Yelp
Old school , real deal, totally solid Mexican fare. Great service, fun atmosphere, excellent service and great chips and salsa. A true gem:

Yelp
Small, divey hole in the wall spot for inexpensive mexican food and drinks! I came here several times before/after skeeball next door at the little woody. We'd usually get a margarita and a small bite! I had heard this place had been around forever and had some notable visitors, so the history attached to it was definitely a draw. Some nights service seemed a bit slower/lacking, but never had a negative time here. Quality and value wise, everything was pretty average. Good for a quick fix, but not one of my all time faves!
google avatar

Jen K.

Yelp
I hear this place is legendary. This is not the kind of place you look up and happen to visit... someone takes you here. Someone shows off TeePee to you. It's that legendary. The chile rellenos is the ultimate- I've never seen anything like it anywhere else! It's fluffy and puffy and perfect! The complimentary chips and salsa are delightful: warm chips and smoky salsa. Trust me- get the cheese crisp. Everyone at the table will thank you! It's like an open faced quesadilla! The women's bathroom (best seat in the house!) is odd and kind of a MUST SEE.

Yelp
Do not go here. They ran my card 3 times and said it wouldn't work. After the fact I got charged 3x and it worked. The manager was a complete jerk and was very embarrassing. What a disappointment. Don't go and out to go order was wrong and missing half the order.

Patrick L.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect for what it is ...TexMex in my opinion. Portions are on the large size, served hot and prices are great. It's always packed 5-8pm. Good service. The booth seats are a little on the small side and could use a refurbishment as many of the seat springs are shot.

Z Z.

Yelp
Fun, lively, tasty, great local spot! All food served hot and tasted great! Hard to find authentic Mexican but this was really good. Had chili verde chimichangas, carne asada enchiladas and one chili relleno on the side. No complaints

Yelp
It looks like a little hole in the wall, but when you get in there and see all the pictures and decorations, you know it's been there for many decades of a family ran restaurant. Very quaint uncomfortable restaurant with a bar the food oh my goodness is amazing. I had a combo platter with rice and beans on it a red tamale, a cheese and onion enchilada and a Carne Asada taco other than my Carne Asada taco shell wet because of the tomatoes and the lettuce being put on hot food was my only complaint my friend I was with had the red chili chimichanga which was absolutely delicious. I tried that as well. it was also happy hour so we ordered a cheese crisp which we had to send back a couple times because it wasn't Chris enough for us, but they were more than happy to accommodate. The service was amazing. We had a gentleman who has been working there for 28 years, I want to say his name is Richard, but he was so attentive and went above and beyond my drink was never empty, which is a big thing for me when I go out. If you want to try some really good food and have really good service go try this restaurant you won't be disappointed

Yelp
We ditched school and went for a cheese crisp at Tee Pee. Food is a cozy memory for a lot of us from Arcadia High School in the early 80's. It has great portions and a house Margarita is yummy. (I learned that one from my last 40 years, not high school).
google avatar

Yelp
An iconic local restaurant that many flock to and the last time I was here was back in the 80's. Not much has changed other than the people, but the recipes are consistent.

Yelp
Truly a Phoenix icon, Tee Pee has been around so long my parents used to come here when they were young! It's very cozy and cute inside, definitely a great place to get a drink and hang out. It's not the best Mexican food around, but it's tasty and plentiful plus the drinks are cheap. I'd definitely come by again for some food and a $24 margarita pitcher!
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Food was excellent. We all had the cheese crisp before dinner. I had the beef tacos which was delicious. Service was great even with an event going on in the patio. They sat us in a corner so I could put my grandson in the end of the booth without bothering anyone. Inside is nothing fancy. But was nice sitting ing in one of the booths.

Yelp
I liked the food and the how the parking was easily accessible. I was unhappy with the seating for my friends who were deafblind. We were cramped into a small hot corner with little space to move around. There were no large seating areas unless we were to sit outside in the heat. The welcoming staff members kepted sighing about how long it was taking for my friends to get situated. On the other hand the serving staff was AMAZING! He was kind and patient. It made the lunch a whole lot better.

Yelp
Fun old building. Food was pretty good, the chicken fajita taco was pretty spicy. The portion sizes were pretty large, and reasonably priced well. We went late so it wasn't that busy food came out fairly fast.

Yelp
This place was insanely packed when they opened on a weekday at 11am. It's kinda dark in the waiting area and definitely a small restaurant. They serve chips and salsa while you wait for your food, which the salsa was fantastic. A nice standard red salsa not spicy. I ordered a combo of a Mama Relleno and Taco. The taco comes crunchy which I love! The tortilla is deep fried to perfection. The machaca just had so much flavor and was so juicy. The taco was insanely good. The Mama relleno was so good and cheesy. It was a white cheese and was cooked to perfection. Not burnt, but not soggy. It came with rice and beans. There are several other things I want to try and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I had a very pleasant experience here recently. It was my first time dining at Tee Pee in 15 years. We came for lunch on a weekday and it was busy but there was no wait for a booth, and we got chips, salsa and water right away. The service was quick and friendly. I had a fish taco, chicken taco, and side of rice, as well as a virgin margarita. It was all very delicious, as well as the chips and salsa. The ambiance was cozy and old school. Great vibes indoors and the patio also, it felt like stepping into the 1960's or 1970's. I like that they have not changed much of the decor. I would definitely recommend Tee Pee as it's a classic Mexican American restaurant that has been around since the 1960's and still going strong!
google avatar

Kristina K.

Yelp
We sat outside for happy hour. The staff was nice and the prices were decent. The nachos were ok, kinda greasy. The margaritas were so so; I've had a lot better. They served them in a small wine glass loaded with ice. The flavor was poor. The chips and salsa weren't the best. Just ok all around. The tocas were average too.
google avatar

Yelp
Tee Pee wasn't our original lunch plan, but it's been there forever so we changed our plan! Loved the old school atmosphere - lots of original details, but clean and well maintained. Service was a little slow, but she was definitely hustling and maybe had a few too many tables. Sundays were made for leisurely lunches, so fine by us. My daughter LOVED the cheese crisp, her sister the bean burro. I tried a chicken taco and a ground beef taco, with the ground beef being the winner of the two since the chicken was a little too spicy. Loved the refried beans, did not love the rice. Prices were very reasonable, would definitely try again.

Yelp
WOW. Incredible service, authentic and incredible Mexican food! I wish we lived nearby. We'd eat here all the time! As an added bonus, we sat at the same table as a former President! Love this place.

Tony W.

Yelp
Ever since they changed the name (new owners???) the food is not as good. BUT THE WORST NEWS THEY USE CANOLA OIL (TOXIC SEED OIL) for their cooking so sickened and sad about that toxic choice !

Carrie H.

Yelp
Food is amazing! Have been going here for 40 years! The lunch specials are the best deal in town and very big! I wish this restaurant was closer but it's worth the drive for me!
google avatar

Yelp
Always good service, good food + great people. Thank you Ainsley for always getting the order right.
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
The food (carne asada, chicken & fish tacos) was poorly prepared and very mediocre. The service was poor as well. The fish was underdone and bland and the carne asada was overdone. You could not taste the chicken as it was indistinguishable from what was also on the taco. The three tacos came on top of one another and sticking together and one taco had a broken tortilla. I should have sent it back and overall the food was nowhere as good as most taco trucks/stands in the Phoenix area.
google avatar

Clay S.

Yelp
This is a can't miss spot for Mexican in PHX. Great atmosphere and full of locals. Staff is friendly and attentive. A must anytime I'm in the area. Order the red chili chimichanga, it's a 10/10

Bob L.

Yelp
Someone highly recommended this establishment. They said it's truly authentic Mexican cuisine. First thing they are not handicapped friendly. They don't have tables only booths. The Hostess never mentioned it was booths only. This can be an issue for someone that is in a wheelchair. The Isles are very narrow and you must transfer into a booth. The Wheelchair was placed at the front door. To go to the bathroom forget it. The service is horrible they didn't no the difference Between a draft beer or bottled. Let alone the difference between lager or Amber. After waiting 20 min we got our beer. When asking a question the server blew me off just because a regular customer came in and was seated across from us. I felt like I was trapped cause my only means of being able to move was taken cause of cramped space but I was also a bother. The server that we had couldn't tell us what was in the Fajita enchiladas, and or the difference between their regular fajitas and what we ordered. We ordered the nacho carne ansada This was the worst plate of nachos. Visually it looked like they just threw cheese and some type of meat on the chips with a ton of jalapeño peppers. The flavor was bland , I had better nachos at a bowling alley. We ordered the fajita enchiladas. These were so greasy that you were seeing the pool of grease on the plate. The food was the worst food I ever had. I wouldn't serve this to my dog. We sent the food back because it was so bad. They wouldn't credit us or remove the dinners off the bill. I payed 47.00 for horrible nachos 2 beers and bad service. Dinners that we didn't eat. If I could give them negative stars I would. While I am writing this review we are both complaining about our stomachs. Due to the insane amount of grease that was on our meals. I have been to a lot of different restaurants over the years but this place truly has the worst service and food I've ever experienced. When we finally got our check, they didn't even apologize to us for not liking their food let alone crediting us for the horrible dishes we received. This shows how they feel about the customer service industry and how they don't care about their customers. When we tried explaining to our server about the geese that was visible on our plates he just looked at us like we had three heads and didn't seem to even care. He kept asking what was wrong with the dishes multiple times and we told him how disgusting it was. If you don't want heart burn or stomach issues, I don't recommend eating here.

Yelp
Solid tradition Mexican food. Tee Pee is a staple in Phoenix, been around since 1956. Bar is nice size. No frills food, comes out fast snd fresh and service is great!

Sean L.

Yelp
The atmosphere at Tee Pee when you first walk in feels like you're walking into a dive bar. It's all dark, and the floor is dirty. When we first entered the restaurant the hostess greeted us and asked if we wanted to sit in the bar area or the dining room. Unknown to us and never told by the hostess that Tee Pee does not have any tables and only has booths for people to sit at. Which became an issue cause for someone in a wheelchair the isles are extremely narrow, and if you can't transfer from your wheelchair to the booth you would be blocking the whole isle. After getting through the cramped seating and getting to the booth, our server finally came over after 15 min of waiting. He asked us what we would like to drink, we asked what was on draft, he stood there with a blank face and couldn't even tell us what they had. After waiting 10 min the beers that we ordered were wrong and they were bottled. When we tried to explain why they were wrong and sent them back they had to ask us what we wanted and they didn't know the difference between amber or lager let alone the difference between draft and bottled beers. This whole ordeal took a total of 20 minutes before we got the correct beers. When we ordered our appetizer the Carne Asada nachos, visually it looked like crap. The cooks seem to have just threw cheese and chips on a plate with some random meat scraps they had, and a ton of jalapeño pepper's. The nachos were bland and had no flavor or any type of seasoning on it. I've made better nachos personally at home. When we were finally ready to order our main course which we both regretted, and should have just left after the experience we already had. We asked our server what the difference was between their fajita enchiladas and their regular fajita entree. Once again he stared at us with a blank face and looked at use like we were asking an impossible question. After we finally, received our dinners, there was a pool of grease on the bottom of the plate in which our enchiladas were swimming in. The other thing was we had only asked for the enchiladas and only saw the price on the menu was 7.99 for them. When our meals came to the table, it had rice and beans and we got an up-charge for them which we never asked for, and we never told by the server that these didn't come with rice and beans and he did not explain that there would be an up-charge. Overall experience was horrible and I would not recommend going here with your family let alone your dog, cause I sure wouldn't feed any of their food to my pets. If i could go in the negatives with stars I would but sadly I can't. Enter Tee Pee at your own risk!

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food is always good. Service is hit or miss. It feels like they are almost always packed but the wait isn't usually long. I really like their salsa and the teepee special plate ks a steal. I don't think you can go wrong here if you're craving good Mexican food.

Vicki G.

Yelp
Great food and service. Local spot serving simple, but really good, food and drinks at very reasonable prices.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Great Mexican food and margaritas at a fair price. Used to go here 20 years ago when I traveled to Phoenix on business and it still is excellent.
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
Love this place. No frills. Just great food, nice servers, and reasonable prices. As a vegan, I don't love vegan food! Not a fan of the substitutes, so I appreciate an opportunity to enjoy great mainstream food with some easy accommodation. I ordered the bean burrito with pinto beans (Just boiled-No lard), and guacamole, lettuce, and salsa. Everybody happy!! It looked so good that I dug right in and forgot to take a picture!

Rainy M.

Yelp
Went tonight and the fiod was disgusting will never go back the server was very nice vut it's just not the same

Sam H.

Yelp
Been going here a long time. Love this place! Mrs. Tobey was the teacher I taught under while at ASU in 2009. She used to work here; been going here ever since. Love the food here; love that Mrs. Tobey got to serve a president.

Yelp
Tee Pee is the best Sonoran Mexican restaurant in the Phoenix valley. My wife and I have been visiting here since 1977 and it is consistently great. It is old school Arizonan. No fuss. Just great and reasonably priced food. The bar area is our favorite, followed by the outdoor porch. Their salsa is our favorite in the Valley, with plenty of cilantro flavor. Who has better salsa? I would like to know. The enchiladas are also "old school" very flavorful sauce. And the BBQ flavored shredded beef, "machaca" is second to none (it is not even available in most Mexican restaurants). We always get at least one item with Machaca. I think most of us from the late 1900 era know about Tee Pee. If you don't, you should.
google avatar

Ray D.

Yelp
Wonderful service in an old school atmosphere. Almost with reasonable prices and certainly an old school menu. Cheese Crisp to die for and finishing two tamales with green sauce is a challenge as they are large Great price/value here with excellent quality.
google avatar

Phil B.

Yelp
Authentic Sonoran Mexican food for decades! Not TexMex......Sonoran style. Service is quick and friendly! Patio is nice.
google avatar

Caleb V.

Yelp
Tee Pee is a valley gem! They never disappoint. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the service is always on point. Their food is always delicious and made fresh. Great chips and salsa. Literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Their enchiladas are amazing (that's my go to). Their fajitas are amazing as well. Miriam works the bar in the evening, and is always friendly and accommodating. If you go during the day Nicole works the bar and she is friendly and always gives great service as well. The dining staff is great also. The service can't be beat!

Yelp
Have been loving the Tee Pee Sonoran Mexican food for literally decades. The original daily special (beef taco cheese enchilada bean tostada rice beans at 11.75 plus tax and tip is outstanding! The rest of the menu is great too. The service is always fast and friendly. Our first stop when we fly into PHX Skyharbor. Always pleased with Tee Pee!

Yelp
Total Mom & Pop place with the most incredible food and great prices. If we lived here, we would be here every week. One person complained it was too hot in the restaurant and left. I would come and just bring a sweat towel if it meant getting to eat the green Chile beef.

Jeannie B.

Yelp
Great dive bar/restaurant. The bartender (Nicole) was great and the food was good and huge portion.
