Teetotum is everything you want in a Tulum stay—charming, comfortable, and effortlessly cool. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless. It’s clear a lot of care goes into keeping everything just right. The food is incredible, with what I’m convinced is the best breakfast in Tulum—hands down. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff is amazing—warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making your stay special. A huge shoutout to Richard, the owner, whose passion for hospitality shines through in every detail. He’s the real deal. The plunge pool was a total hit—my 12-year-old daughter didn’t want to leave it. The rooftop deck was our favorite evening spot, perfect for a cocktail under the stars. And the bikes provided made it easy to get to the beach and explore the area. Teetotum is a true hidden gem—laid-back luxury with heart. We can’t wait to come back.

I only ate breakfast there, but the service was kind, excellent and always with a smile. The coffee was top notch and the chilequilles were the best I've had so far. Very close to my room so that was a plus.

I stayed around the corner at another spot, but found myself at Teetotum everyday for happy hour and on into the evening chatting with Alejandra and Juan, not to mention a few other local characters who worked nearby and frequently stopped in. Their drinks and food were excellent, and the vibe was relaxed and unpretentious. At the end of my week stay i stopped in to say fairwell but neither were working that morning, so i had to say my fairewells in a quick note. If i'm every back again i'll be sure to visit.

The best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had! Alejandro was the perfect host and made the best cocktails! Would highly recommend. Also, this bar has the best 80’s dance music I’ve heard in a very long time. If you are in Tulum with a partner or by yourself, stop in you won’t regret it!

It's never pleasant to feel unwelcome at a business, but I definitely felt that way 😳 This review is for the bar only...I didn't eat or stay at Teetotum. This place is super close to my home, and I stopped in one night for Happy Hour. It was difficult to tell who was working there as everyone was seated...no one behind the bar. I finally figured out who the bartender was and ordered the Happy Hour beer. I asked for it in Spanish, but the bartender replied in English. His attitude was not friendly at all. I had to return to the bar to ask for my second beer, which isn't a problem, but I felt ignored by the bartender. When I went to pay by card, the bartender automatically selected the currency of my country without asking me or allowing me to choose my preference. I've lived in Mexico for 4 years, and this was the first time that an employee chose the currency 🤷‍♀️ I thought he might be having a bad day, so when I returned for a second visit, I hoped for better service. That didn't happen. It was the same bartender and he was just as sullen as the first experience. Once again, I spoke in Spanish, but he responded in English. The drink he prepared didn't taste like anything alcoholic was in it. And once again, he selected the currency for the transaction 😤 I really wanted this bar to be a place I could hang out with friends, share a few bevvies, and have some great laughs! Unfortunately, I won't be coming back due to the attitude of the bartender. I don't need my *** kissed, but I do expect decent service and to be in charge of the card that I use to pay 🤑

We just wandered past Teetotum and saw that they did coffee so nipped in. The lovely man who works here (maybe manager/owner) made us a gorgeous iced coffee with coconut milk and agave syrup. We then came back the next day because we enjoyed it so much and got the most gorgeous pizza as well! Really well priced for Tulum and lovely coffee and food! The staff are lovely as well. Definitely go here when visiting Tulum you can’t miss out! ❤️✨

Yelp
Richard and staff are awesome. They make sure to take care of guests and their needs. I booked this hotel because it has a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor while being inexpensive compared to other hotels. I would say it lived up to that rating. Also, this stay is during the whole pandemic and I'll say they're ensuring safety of guests and proper checks were in place before entering the facility. The hotel is in between the main town and the beach. They have free bikes available for the guests. The hotel itself has a relaxed vibe and the restaurant has very good breakfast and dinner selections. Plus a really good happy hour. It's a great place to relax at after spending a full day at the beach. We will definitely come back and stay again.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Barista was unfriendly, did not smile or offer any assistance: more concerning, beware of cat that walks around the property as it will bite you from behind.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in for some breakfast here before we headed to the ruins and it was such a cute atmosphere here! Loved the lounge chairs all over and the Beetle car decor out front. And the banana stuffed french toast was to-die-for! Seriously some of the best breakfast I've had in awhile! It was also reasonably priced which was another plus in my book! If I ever make it back to Tulum, I'll be sure to consider this spot as a place to stay for accommodations.

Yelp
If you are staying in town and not on the beach... 1. Rent bikes and ride towards the beach (electric if you don't want to sweat lol) 2. Stop on the main road at Hotel Teetotum for breakfast 3. Order the huevos rancheros and a smoothie 4. Take artsy photos 5. Ride 10 more minutes to the beach! Ordered the huevos rancheros, smoothie and french fries all for about 12 dollars...not bad at all! Beautiful jungle setting and excellent service. Really made me want to stay at the hotel in addition to eating there. Maybe next time :p FYI: It is cash only unless you're a patron at the hotel...then you can charge your meal to your room

Yelp
You can't go wrong with the breakfast burrito or the huevos rancheros. The burrito is chock full of delicious ingredients including avocado, egg, and the tastiest chorizo. The huevos are different than any I've had in the states, but maybe even tastier than what I expected. It's on a crispy tortilla and smothered in melted cheese... so in a way it tasted like huevos rancheros blended with a quesadilla or nachos. Heaven! Oh, and when you stop by don't forget to say hi to the owner's adorable dog, who lies around lazily and lets out funny howls once in a while to entertain guests. She's the best!

Yelp
Stopped here and had some cold beers and the made from scratch veggie burger. Being a veggie burger connoisseur myself, I very much enjoyed this large patty on a soft sesame bun with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Fries were noting special, but the burger was darn good. Worth a stop as you bike into Tulum Pueblo if you like cold beer and veggie burgers.

Yelp
Really nice breakfast. We got blueberry pancakes and huevos rancheros. Both were really tasty, although the portions are a little small. Really nice open air spot. It's a little hard to find -- look for the car rental place next door.

Yelp
Hotel: we stayed here for two nights in October 2016. The rooms are colorful, large and nice. A/c unit, hot shower, free bikes to ride (~10 min ride to ruins), everything you need. The staff is also AMAZING. they spent a good hour joking w us, teaching us about mezcal, and pointing out things to do on a map they thought we would like. Hotel comes w a delicious fruit breakfast w toast and their own homemade papaya jam. Food: has the veggie tower - a delicious pile of lettuce, goat cheese, sliced beets and other deliciousness. We also had the fish tacos w guacamole and added the habanero sauce they make in house. SO DELICIOUS.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for brunch - it was excellent! He had the breakfast burrito and I had the banana stuffed french toast - flavors were wonderful! We also had the orange and red smoothies which were great, tasted healthy and not too sweet. The place has a cool vibe and is in a great location on the main road connecting the town and the beach. Service was a little on the slow side, but we didn't mind as that's how most things were in Tulum. Did not accept credit cards.

Yelp
Such a cool little place only a cab or bike ride from town. Only 4 rooms but well accommodated, good grub and AWESOME staff. We felt at home and will definitely return!

Yelp
Amazing music, vibe and energy at this place. Good snacks, great drinks, go for happy hour and linger.

Yelp
Very cool place! Some of the best food we had over our 2 weeks in Tulum. Super fresh, homemade, awesome drinks, great tunes, cool staff. What else can I say? We loved it. Next time we will try the hotel as well. Seems very chill and is in a great location.

Yelp
My boys and I stayed at Teetotum over New Years (2016/2017). We loved it! With only four rooms, a very friendly and engaging staff (they welcomed me by name, help set up a driver, and were sincerely friendly) and locals dropping by it was more like a little community than a hotel with strangers passing in the night. The bikes were awesome to have and the beach is a flat ride with a bike path. I opted to stay off the beach so my boys got a flavor of the town of Tulum and was really glad we did. I'd go back in a heartbeat!
