It's never pleasant to feel unwelcome at a business, but I definitely felt that way 😳
This review is for the bar only...I didn't eat or stay at Teetotum.
This place is super close to my home, and I stopped in one night for Happy Hour. It was difficult to tell who was working there as everyone was seated...no one behind the bar. I finally figured out who the bartender was and ordered the Happy Hour beer. I asked for it in Spanish, but the bartender replied in English. His attitude was not friendly at all. I had to return to the bar to ask for my second beer, which isn't a problem, but I felt ignored by the bartender. When I went to pay by card, the bartender automatically selected the currency of my country without asking me or allowing me to choose my preference. I've lived in Mexico for 4 years, and this was the first time that an employee chose the currency 🤷♀️
I thought he might be having a bad day, so when I returned for a second visit, I hoped for better service. That didn't happen. It was the same bartender and he was just as sullen as the first experience. Once again, I spoke in Spanish, but he responded in English. The drink he prepared didn't taste like anything alcoholic was in it. And once again, he selected the currency for the transaction 😤
I really wanted this bar to be a place I could hang out with friends, share a few bevvies, and have some great laughs! Unfortunately, I won't be coming back due to the attitude of the bartender. I don't need my *** kissed, but I do expect decent service and to be in charge of the card that I use to pay 🤑
