Full disclosure: I came here for dessert and night caps, not actual dining.
We had just finished at Hofbrauhaus, but weren't ready for the night to end. Dessert sounded like a good idea, and upon passing Tegernseer Tal Brauhaus, I recalled that this was a name that I had listed as a potential go-to spot. They had a menu outside, and despite the fact that neither of us really know German, we could make out "appel strudel" and "tiramisu," so we both knew that there was something for us.
Upon entering, the interior is way nicer than it looks from the outside, and it's like a bier hall with some tasteful decoration to not make it look so plain. The server we had spoke very good English, so communication was no issue. We ordered the desserts we saw, and because we were in Deutschland where beer is cheaper than water, we got ourselves some more beer; it should be noted that the pours were heavy and went over the 0.5L mark on all pours we had.
Our desserts were generously portioned, and tasted as good as they looked. The tiramisu came served in a long narrow glass, and almost seemed to look to nice to eat, but I still devoured it anyway, and it was not over sweet and was overall very delicious.
As a whole, I liked this place tremendously. The location was convenient and very centralized in the city, the staff was nice and service good, the desserts were delicious, the beers were heavy, and I don't recall spending that much. Overall, it's an easy five stars, and I'd come back to this place again if I'm ever back in München.
