Tehama Golf Club

Tehàma Golf Club is a truly exclusive and breathtaking venue with some of the best views in Carmel. The panoramic scenery of Monterey Bay and the rolling hills makes for unforgettable wedding footage, especially at sunset. The Spanish-style clubhouse adds a touch of sophistication, and the outdoor terrace is perfect for capturing golden hour magic. An absolutely incredible place for a wedding!

Great private club. Pretty exclusive but if you can get on with someone, you won't be disappointed. Excellent greens and fairways. Challenging and fair layout but not a cupcake course. Plenty of elevation changes and side hill lies. Rough is fairly penal, but not impossible. Nice range area. Beautiful clubhouse and the most impressive parking structure I've seen. Deserves a 6 star rating.

Went here for a wedding. The elegant environment makes people feel relaxed and comfortable.

I really appreciate that Clint Eastwood has a beautifully golf course and hope that next time I'm in the area... It would be great to meet such a great actor.. I have been told that he sometimes will waik around the course and see you.

As personal and professional life coaches we know how important relaxation is. What a wild course. Beautiful course and the wildlife was an extra perk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. So much fun driving the golf cart.

I don't golf, but I was here for an event. Therefore, I can only speak for the stunning 360-degree views from the clubhouse, the lovely facilities, the great service, and the shockingly delicious food served to 100+ of us. Note, just in case folks don't already know this: access is restricted, you need a membership or an event invite - so you can't just drop in here - but if you're invited, be absolutely sure to go.

Lots of terrain for good variety. Some greens are forgiving.

As a wedding planner Tehama is one of my favorite places to see my couples get married! Not only is the venue incredibly beautiful with stunning views in every direction but the staff at Tehama is fabulous to work with. I have never had to question that they would go above and beyond to help with anything during an event. Additionally it's always very easy to communicate with Jennifer, Lisa and Aaron, they are truly wonderful to work with, kind, honest, and upmost integrity. If you are looking for the perfect venue for a wedding or celebration I highly recommend Tehama!

Beautiful, majestic, wonderful Golf spot. Close friends hosted a wedding here and it was perfect. Many sizable spaces that accommodate several guest types. Areas for kids, the youngins, and seniors. The views are remarkable and so is the food. The filet I ordered was perfect. Temperature was hot to warm and perfectly medium rare. Just a stunning venue. Really A++++.

We had the opportunity to eat at the club this evening, casual but elegant outside dining in the courtyard. Service was impeccable, ambience was relaxed yet lively and food was easily as good as anything I have eaten in the Carmel area. Big thumbs up, Wifey and I celebrated our 20yr anniversary today and they did us proud .. If you get the opportunity grab it with both hands ! ..

BASED ON WEDDING If you are thinking of getting married here, don't. Don't just walk away, run.. run as fast as you can and as far as you can ... far away from Tehama. The coordinator and general manager will not take your wants or concerns seriously. They will bait and switch (say one thing and provide another). They lack communication, empathy and customer service. They will charge your card without notice, take back verbal agreements and do what they want without approval from bride or groom. I have exchanged many emails with both coordinator and general manager who are not willing to take accountability for their actions. Although the venue is BEAUTIFUL, it is not worth the daily headaches (we encountered 24 issues while working with Tehama). Take it from a bride who experienced an absolute nightmare while working with Tehama- take your business elsewhere.

Was visiting friends in Tehama for Monterey Car Week and had a hankering for a cheeseburger. My host suggested hitting the Club House since I hadnt been there before. The beautiful Spanish architecture was warm and inviting. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the golf course and the magnificent Santa Lucia Mountain range. Absolutely breathtaking views! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Our bacon cheeseburgers were cooked to medium-well perfection and were anything but the kind of "pub" food that normally accompany your local golf clubhouse. A couple of pints of Firestone Walker's "Mind Haze" IPA helped quench our thirst. And we couldnt help but pass up a couple of their delicious oatmeal cookies too! Club Manager Tom Zoller introduced himself on our way out. I will definitely be back!

We attended a wedding at the Tehama Golf Club and got to experience the numerous security gates before making it to the club. Upon arrival, guests can socialize in a courtyard area before heading out to see the ceremony site with breathtaking views. Cocktails were also located in the patio before we headed inside for the reception dinner. For wedding food, I thought the appetizers and entree were pretty good. The filet mignon was cooked medium rare and the vegetable risotto was pretty tasty as well. The room itself was cozy with a modern Tuscan feel that had beautiful large windows capturing the sunset.

I attended a friend's wedding at Tehama. The building is gorgeous and the views are quite beautiful. The layout of the club is well-suited for events. The food was incredible. However, I was incredibly disappointed with the management of the facility. While I was in the packed women's bathroom, I started to see (what appeared to be) raw sewage spewing up from a drain on the floor. This was not only disgusting but it also took out the main men's and women's bathrooms. This left two bathroom/toilets for 170 wedding guests. The lines were long and the toilet paper was gone.

We had lunch here with friends who are members of this rather exclusive club. The location is absolutely stunning. We ate outside on a picture perfect day overlooking the gold course with Monterey Bay in the background. Clint Eastwood's humongous house/estate stood out on the hillside just past the golf course. The service was impeccable and the food was good. We started with crab & corn bisque which was quite good. Two of us had the seafood tacos which came with beans & cole slaw. It was bland and could have used some seasoning and hot sauce. The soba noodle dish with shrimp was also lacking in oomph, seasoning and inspiration, but the excellent Pinot Noir made up for it! My daughter and I worked with Cheryl of Tehama to have her wedding there in April 2021. We met with Cheryl and found her to be very professional.we consulted vendors who loved working with Cheryl and confirmed she was very qualified to handle our wedding. We were very excited after meeting her and she answered our questions and again we felt very comfortable with her. We asked her if she was committed to doing our wedding in April and she said she would be retiring in about a year but promised us she would be there in April to coordinate the wedding. She sent us a deposit form and we sent the check. Tehama, with out letting us know, terminated Cheryl and then cashed our deposit check. They did not let us know that Cheryl would not be doing our wedding, or tell us who her replacement would be. They failed to disclose this information and deposited our check anyways. After a few weeks of no response from Cheryl or Tehama, we contacted the Food and Beverage manager who said Cheryl was no longer there and new nothing about our wedding. We contacted vendors who said they were very concerned about Cheryl being gone and that we should be concerned. We lost confidence and asked for our deposit back. Tom the general manager discussed the matter with my daughter and I regarding the refund.. Tom came back and agreed the termination had happened during our making the deposit but has refused to return the whole deposit. The way Tehama has handled this has devastated our daughter and we both feel that Tehama did not properly disclose to us Cheryl would not be there yet cashed our deposit anyways. They misrepresented who would handle our wedding at Tehama and want to keep the deposit. We will update this if Tehama properly refunds the deposit to my daughter. If they don't you should not trust them with your very special event.

I don't golf, so my review only covers my experience at the lodge as a wedding guest. But oh what a wedding venue this is. I've attended my share of weddings over the years... and it's not been often that I've seen the bride and groom exchange vows from this sort of bird's nest up here in the Carmel mountains just as the fog descends on the Pacific, the sun sets and well, just about everything is perfect. Inside the lodge was airy and designed with a mix of rich wood and Tuscan-looking stone... an architectural style that I tend to fall for every time. And of course the fact that this is Clint Eastwood's course makes the whole experience all the cooler. Not sure I'll ever have the opportunity to go back to Tehama. But if you get the chance to play here, attend an event or if you're looking for a wedding venue in the area, I highly recommend giving them a call.

Note: PRIVATE CLUB This is a tough one. Honestly, the course itself is extremely quirky. Under other circumstances, the bizarre layout and strange hole configuration would lend to a lower Yelp rating. One par-3 has tee boxes obscured by trees and is 100% carry from the tee to the green. There is a par-4 on which the entire fairway slants awkwardly in one direction. This is all due to the fact that the entire course is cut out of the hills of a rancho that really doesn't lend itself well to designing a golf course. I'm sure the designers did the best they could with what they had on hand. A 131/139 from Front/Back tees makes it a tough trek, and it definitely plays to its slope rating. Now for the cool stuff. Number one: this is a private club founded by none other than Clint Eastwood. How cool is that? From the moment you arrive, you realize you're in for something amazing. The entire parking garage floor is tile. I first thought I had somehow managed to drive into the lobby. My Audi TT was the crappiest car in the garage, surrounded by AMG Mercedes, Rolls Royces, Porsches, a couple Ferraris, and a shiny, new Lamborghini Gallardo. The clubhouse sits on top of a hill with great views all around. The staff was fantastic and very attentive. We were told to tee off "whenever we were ready". During the entire round, we saw only 2 other foursomes. If you ever get the chance to play here, you would be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity. I'm not sure that this would be my first choice for a country club membership if I had the money.

Tehama is an amazing place to have a wedding or other special event. My brother and I both got married there (ummm, not to each other of course) and my stepmom's birthday party was there one year. As everyone says here, it really is a magical place. Even if it's foggy (which it usually isn't when it is in Carmel), it's such a beautiful location and the facility itself has such a nice flow for parties-- ie bar area separate for those that don't want to dance. The food is incredible, everything is flawless. James, Holly, and Rita take such good care of everything, I did not feel stressed at any point on my wedding day. I can't say enough good things about Tehama and the staff. LOVE IT, LOVE THEM! Our wedding was even more special than I ever expected it to be!

Attended my cousins wedding her and this place is beautiful! The views are amazing! The staff was attentive & nice. Everything was clean and well kept. The courtyard with the fountain was so nice but the patio area in back was amazing!

If you are a fair weather golfer, enjoys a nice cart ride, a good pace of play, and a course in near perfect condition (and have the money to shovel out for it) this spot is great! Not as many views of the bay like I imagined but still a great conditioned course. If you prefer a course that is walkable and still has a normal amount of elevation changes this isn't for you.

Attended the serata Italiana Lamborghini Owners dinner here during car week. Absolutely the highlight of my whole year. Location was absolutely stunning with beautiful cars surrounding us. Very excited for next years and hopefully it will be at the same venue. Staff was very friendly, amazing food, and very serene views.

When I was invited here to play I really didn't know what to expect but the staff is friendly and gracious. I love the fact it's private but it's a tough course, bring your A game if you plan on enjoying yourself. I was fortunate to play in a members only tournament and Clint Eastwood was in a group right behind us and it was awesome to see he is enjoying himself at his age. I want to thank all the staff and especially my friend for the truly once in a lifetime experience here. Oh yeah I almost forgot.... the cookies are delicious!

I have never been to a place which such rude staff. I came here for a wedding party 30 minutes early and they wouldn't let any of us past the gates. We were left sitting in the ugly dirt path in our gowns and tuxedos for the entire 30 minutes. Sheryl the manager/ event coordinator was awful to all of us... I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional. You would think you would get first class service at a "first class venue". While the venue was gorgeous with breathtaking views, it is just not worth it for all the country club crap you have to put up with. I hope Sheryl F. takes some customer service training... She certainly needs it.

i just went to one of the best weddings ever at this space, planned so perfectly. what an evening. love was everywhere. views that were so impressive, so spectacular! the food, music, and people- all really interesting. talked and danced to the wee hours, i thought the evening would never end. a magical night to say the least.

So, I have to admit that I've never actually golfed here, but I did attend a wedding reception at the club recently... Tehama is like a little piece of heaven. When you step out of the club and onto the back terrace overlooking the course you feel like you're at the top of the world --- i know it sounds cheesy, but it really is absolutely breathtaking!

I've been to a wedding dinner here as well as the fitness center, and even drove around in a golf cart while friends and family golfed (not my thing). I believe that this club has one of the best views of the California coast. The mountains are beautiful and green. In the restaurant they treat you very well. Although they have a menu, they are willing to make just about anything you want. The fitness center is really nice with two pools and a large hot tub. I like it when they have a separate kiddie pool (for the obvious reasons), and the fitness center locker rooms have anything and everything that you could possibly need....and enough to sneak one or two things in your bag if you want.

I got married there 5 years ago this September. I'm 50 now and it was a first marriage for both of us. My in-laws gave us a wedding that I couldn't believe. We got there Saturday before, for the rehearsal, Sunday was the wedding, a perfect day. And stayed overnight in the four apartments they have on site and left Monday morning. I cant thank her family enough!!

Always such a pleasure to spend time here at Tehama. The view is spectacular and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's truly worlds away from the chaos of life. Make sure to keep an eye out for the wildlife when you drive up there!

i was lucky enough to stay here with afriend that family was cool enough to give us the keys to this awesome place. First of all we stayed in one of the only four rooms, we got so loaded and swore we'd make the trip worth it and golf(make our tee time) the next morning. well it didnt happen, we got so loaded and next morning, made it to the first tee, actually afternoon, and didnt finish bc the sun went down, but when we were there Bill Clinton was there and we didnt give a fuck.. hahah. i wish i was 24 again....

We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception at Tehama. Cheryl was such a wonderful help in our planning and made us feel more comfortable about having a destination wedding! She was there the day of the wedding and made sure everything was just perfect. The food was delicious and the wine was phenomenal. Fantastic service in one of the most beautiful settings in California.
