My husband, mother-in-law, and I decided to eat here for dinner during our visit to Fukuoka. It was my mother-in-law’s first visit to Japan, and she says it was her favorite meal she’s had on the trip! She couldn’t believe that we could have such a delicious meal on the street.
We shared the grilled cabbage with anchovies, 3 set skewers, homemade sausage with mashed potatoes, and pork ribs.
All the food was incredibly delicious, but the sausage and mashed potatoes was our favorite dish. The sausage was perfectly seasoned and had a wonderful snap with each bite. The accompanying mashed potatoes were very well-seasoned and buttery.
In addition to the wonderful food, the atmosphere in the yatai was very welcoming and friendly. The main chef previously worked in London, so he spoke English. He was very friendly and engaging, as was everyone else in the yatai! Everyone tried their best to communicate with us despite the language barrier.
If you are looking for a yatai in Fukuoka, this is a must-try spot!
