"Ride One of the World's Highest Cable Cars For spectacular views of sprawling Quito, take a ride in the TelefériQo. This aerial lift, one of the highest in the world, takes you up the east side of Pichincha volcano, but don't worry, its active caldera is on the western side of the mountain! You'll rise over 3,200 feet in 10 minutes. In addition to hiking trails and lookout points, there are shops and cafés at the top. On a clear day, you can see 13 volcanoes. The most challenging hike from the top is the Volcano Route, going to the summit of the Rucu Pichincha volcano. Be warned the weather can change quickly, so wrap up warm and, ideally, go with a guide. Whether you're hiking or just snapping pics, consider going in the morning to avoid the crowds."

Absolutely stunning views from the top across all of Quito. You can bike, hike and just hangout at the top. There are restaurants, lounges,washrooms and innumerable viewpoints. A Quito must do for $9 in 2026

This attraction is absolutely worth a visit! 🌄 The entrance ticket is $9, followed by a scenic cable car ride to the top where the adventure really begins. The hike is serious, so be prepared with good shoes and some energy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. Along the way, you’ll find fun spots like a swing and several other unique surprises that make the journey even more enjoyable. Whether you go in the morning or evening, the views are stunning and the atmosphere is beautiful. A perfect mix of nature, activity, and a bit of thrill — highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable experience!

Great experience. Absolutely beautiful. Wait for a clear day to get the most out of the trip. We went up in October while it was clear in the old town. Up there it was cold raining and hailing. Despite bad weather, views of mountains and scenery were breathtaking.

Beautiful views, and a fun 18-minute ride for $9 round-trip, less for Ecuadorian nationals. There are two cafes up top, and numerous hiking trails and viewpoints. Careful if you're prone to altitude sickness, the summit is at 12,000ft. Despite 70f degrees in town, it was much colder and quite windy on the mountain, so bring a jacket. I love that dogs are welcome, I rode up with a friendly beagle, and there is a dog park at the top as well!

It’s difficult to get to; you have to take a cab or Uber. Once at the top, there’s quite a bit of hiking you can do. You can go all the way to the top of mount Pichincha if you have time but we did not. You can also rent horses for $5, but they just took us around in a circle for 15 minutes. There might be a way to rent horses for longer. Bring water or money to buy water -there are several snack stands around. It’s also very dusty, so bring shoes and clothes you don’t care about getting dirty.

A must go to destination, just be sure to acclimate prior to it. Trying to get in touch with nature and altitude, this is the place to go. Love the “swing in the clouds”. Be sure to bring snacks and plenty of water, also keep an eye on the clouds and precipitation as things can change quickly up there. Bring comfortable shoes or hiking boots as the hike is pretty steep. Overall great experience and workout.

This is a nice place to visit. It opens around 10 and if you are on time you will not have to wait in big lines. We used an Uber to get there and it was cheap. On top you have great views and there is even a restaurant with good coffee and snacks/food.
