Telluride Helitrax

Words cannot explain how unbelievable our day with Telluride Helitrax was. Matt and Marcus were both so knowledgeable about the snow, terrain, safety and everything in between. This has been on our bucket list for years and was a dream come true. This is such a once in a lifetime experience and the entire day was perfect and so unforgettable. Thank you a million to the entire Helitrax team! We can’t recommend enough!

No complaints at all first time doing Heli and first time ever on a heli and I felt very comfortable. Matt was amazing his knowledge of the terrain and just about anything to do with what we were doing was incredible he loves his job and I can tell that he truly studies his craft to be the best at it. The pilot John was amazing! The places he landed were unbelievable. Looking forward to next year we will be back thank you!

I wanted to let you all know how great my experience was skiing with you last week. I had a great time with Joe and the others. This was my second trip skiing with Joe as my guide and the experience has surpassed my expectations both times. The organization, professionalism, and the care for safety of all the skiers doesn't go unnoticed. I can't wait to book another trip in the future!

Helitrax is an A1 customer experience at the highest level. If you have never been heli skiing Helitrax is the place to start. The guides, the location, the mountains, the snow, the experience are all world class. Do not miss this oppportunity!!!

A+ operation. They communicated clearly and efficiently with respect to avalanche and helicopter safety. It was the perfect first-time heli ski adventure for us - and we got some all-time powder pics. As others have said, the guides are top-notch.

This was a awesome experience that I would love to do again (one day, keep thinking positive!!!) It was really easy, book the trip and show up on time in the (hotel) lobby. There was short safety brief, meet and greet, and a quick ride that they provided to the helicopter. All I needed to bring for equipment was boots, they had you on the skis based on conditions and poles. To me, the experience was a once in a lifetime type of thrill, so I had a goofy grin from end to end. The pilot of the helicopter was super cool and reminded me of who I would be (if I could only be that cool!) All the runs were fun and not over the top challenging. I am from Texas, so I only get to ski once a year (if I am lucky) and I found the day challenging but never overwhelming. Safety of the group always felt like a priority, safe and fun to make the next run!

Blue bird day, fresh snow and amazing staff, ski guides and pilot! Thank you for helping me fulfill a bucket list today! Grateful! I highly recommend you give Helitrax an opportunity, you won’t regret it!

I just got back from my trip and this was by far the highlight of the week! Our guide was named Mark and he was fantastic. Cool enough to let us have a ton of fun, and wise enough to keep us all safe. Even when we were on an incredibly narrow ridge, I had full confidence in our guide and pilot. In fact the pilot was incredible and even gave us a bit of a joy ride at the end of the day. I would recommend this to anyone with big enough junk to make it happen. Of course we talked about the cost afterwards and my buddy and I agreed, it was worth every penny! Bucket list CHECK!

We had the absolute best time and the entire day exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed with the professional staff, accommodations, food, and of course the incredible skiing and views. Our guide Angela was exceptional. We highly recommend Helitrax and will absolutely be back!

My wife and I had the best time. Our guide, Joe, was great and did an amazing job making sure we had an unbelievable experience. I had set high expectations, and the day exceeded all of them. We felt safe the whole time, and the snow was next level. We will definitely be back.

Good airport, it gets the job done....but make sure you don't come hungry and with a lot of time to kill! Vending machines blow and there are no other options. My boyfriend and I came here hungry, and with 2 hours to kill. Big mistake on our parts. Don't do it! WiFi is super slow

Wow... wow... and WOOOW! These guys are amazing! Unforgettable experience tearing up the slopes with them! I have been an avid skier and an adrenaline seeker since I was quite young so I decided to go out on a limb and try out some new places and terrain. Colorado has some of the best mountains I have been, and they truly do breed winter Olympians! When you book the charter, be sure to come with a flexible schedule as weather can always be a loose canon. I ended up having to push back the charter 3 days back due to inclement weather, but knew on the bright side that would mean some great new fresh powder! This just gave me a few extra days to tackle the Telluride ski resort which was also awesome! For a small fortune, Helitrax will take you to uncharted back country terrain, and my oh my... it was an experience! The guides are all very knowledgeable and have an extensive resume of mountaineering experience from Everest to Alaska, the Helitrax guides are are definitely the ones you can count on. All the necessary safety precautions are taken. Guides will take the time to answer any questions you might have and even educate you above and beyond what you need to know when it comes to avalanche safety. Breakfast is accompanied by the safety briefing, followed by a fitting (if you use their gear). I used my own equipment since I can be picky when it comes to the feel and specs of my skis, but the equipment they supply you with if you choose (at no extra charge) is up to par from my observations. Then they whisk you away off in a caravan up to their base camp where your chariot (helicopter) awaits. I get goosebumps just reflecting about how amazing and breathtaking the views itself was. As they drop you off to your first peak, it really makes you feel so small as you are surrounded by majestic powder packed mountains. This is true back country, as after the heli flys off into the distance, you are left in pure natural serenity. Then you drop in and go at it! No holding back, tear up that fresh powder as you cut through the virgin snow! Best feeling ever! Truly an experience of a lifetime. Lunch and snacks included through out they day to keep you hydrated and fueled for the next drop in. There are various different peaks they will drop you off so it is a new gig every time. They end the epic day with a nice happy hour with drinks and snacks as you recap the amazing time you had with your group and guides. Great staff and team! Very friendly and knowledgeable! You will feel safe on their watch! Definitely should be an experienced skiier to enjoy this charter. Would recommend to be comfortable in deep powder on a black diamond trail. Not cheap, but it was worth every penny! The experience in my book was priceless and unforgettable! I would definitely come back... when I can save up enough to do so again! :P

Probably one of the funnest things I have done in my life. For a small fortune, you and 3 others can heliski with a guide until your hearts content - for a day. Full on untracked terrain, mostly at an elevation of about 13K, in the San Juan's between Telluride & Silverton. We lucked out and had a nearly perfect blue bird pow day. The only drawback was if you have less than the four required in the helicopter another will be added to your group. We had two others added, one was an older guy in his 50's and the other was an intermediate snowboarder. It all went pretty well for the first 3 runs, but as the day wore on they got bushwacked pretty quickly. If you've never skied deep powder before, I suggest you get a feel for it before hopping in a helicopter, it could make for a really long and exhausting day. But all in all it was unbelievable. I highly recommend if you have the means.

Out of this world! Went out there on 3/12/11. The views from the heli alone were enough to make the trip worth it. I've been heli skiing before, but this was a completely different experience. The drops are all at 13K + feet so you have some of the most stunning views ever, and the skiing is just as good.
