The staff are effusively friendly. If you’re an introvert who would like to disappear into your own world, you’ll be dragged back into conversant society. The team treated our four-year-old as a long-lost friend, and frequently took her aside for a fun little activity (such as fishing or just messing about by the water). We visited Telunas during Indonesia's Independence Day, so we took part in the staff celebrations and activities, which were fun. ||There are some significant differences between the private island and the beach resort. We stayed at the beach resort. It has a warm, kampung feel. At the resort, the beach was sandy and shallow, so our four-year-old had no issues splashing about. The waters were too cloudy for snorkelling. Unavoidably, in this part of the world there are rogue pieces of rubbish in the sea, but a squadron of staff assiduously clear the beach first thing every morning. The private island had a much better beach for kids, I think, which was easily accessible from the central hub. It also appeared to have a pool and other more resort-style amenities. ||There is no wifi or A/C in rooms (at least at the beach resort). It did get a little hot in ours, as the wind was light during our stay. This alerted the mosquitoes to some easy prey, although the room’s fans and sleeping nets warded most away.||The food was excellent throughout. And the servers couldn’t do enough for us. |The surroundings are beautiful. It’s impossible not to have an easy, refreshing time here.
