Our family visited Telunas in early-July 2025 and had a fantastic time. From the moment we got off the ferry from Singapore in Sekupang Batam, the Telunas staff was there to make our family feel welcomed and special. Agung and Ashril accompanied us on the local ferry ride to Telunas Private Island and, along with the rest of the Telunas staff, made us feel like part of the family for our entire 4-night stay.
Upon arriving at the beautiful Private Island, we were treated to our first of many delicious meals with breathtaking views from the dining area. The kitchen and dining staff was top-notch and my wife and I loved the variety of traditional SE Asia food. Our three kids loved the kid’s menu and also the deserts. Every meal, the staff was always there to greet us by name before serving the delicious food. Staff members, like Rangga, began to remember our coffee orders and other things that we liked. This all played into how special the Telunas staff made us feel.
Our overwater villa was incredible with a fun loft for the kids and incredible sunrise views right from the bed in the bedroom. From our overwater balcony, we got to see dolphins, a jellyfish and numerous other fish over the course of our stay. Each evening as we walked along the overwater path to dinner, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
The amenities and activities were also spot on. From the beach and infinity pool to the overwater massages (highly recommended) and nature hike, the Telunas Private Island gives you plenty to enjoy during your stay. We also like that the staff organized daily activities if we wanted to take a break from disconnecting and relaxing. Our family took a boat to the Telunas Beach Resort to do the low-ropes course, participated in the local village tour, handline fished (and later ate our catch), and made Keris (traditional Javanese daggers) out of palm leaves. Our kids loved the daily afternoon kids club activities as well. Evening activities included two bonfires on the beach and a movie night.
We especially loved going on the village tour and getting to see what the Telunas Foundation is doing to support the local communities. While at the village, we even ran into a Telunas staff member we had met that was home on days off who greeted us by name.
Overall, it’s hard to fully express how much fun we had at Telunas. We hope to be back soon! Thank you, Telunas Staff!
