We had a wonderful time visiting TELUS Spark Science Centre. It is a great place to spend time with family. We spent about three hours there, and the experience was full of joy, excitement, and hands-on fun. One of the highlights of our visit was the fire show, which was very engaging and exciting for the kids. Their favorite part was the Infinity Dome theatre, and my 5- and 3-year-old also loved the water play area, where they could interact with the water and toys in a fun, hands-on way. One thing to note: if you are hoping to see the human and animal anatomy exhibits, they are no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that, we still had a great experience and would definitely recommend TELUS Spark for families with young children.

Google
A great place for fun and scientific education for kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the environment has been maintained very clean and welcoming! Really enjoyed the visit! Highly recommended especially the holiday season just around the corner! Hope you are enjoying it as we do.

TELUS Spark is a great place to spend time with kids. Everywhere was clean and organized, the staff at the entrance were very attentive, answering questions and giving directions when asked. The auditorium showed a video of the "Story of Earth, it was very immersive and educative. The sensory Room provided a super interactive and calming show which the kids loved. I didn't get a chance to visit everywhere, but the experience was worth it. I will definitely go back.

We had such a fantastic time at the Telus Spark Science Centre! This place is truly a five-star experience, thoughtfully designed with something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. It's the perfect blend of a science center and a children's museum, making it ideal for toddlers and young kids. The Creative Kids Museum was a definite highlight. It felt like a traditional children's museum with all the climbing spaces and water feature area you'd expect, but with a clever scientific twist. We especially loved the simple machines with adjustable ramps and the building tubes. They even had a soft play area for non-walkers, which was a huge plus. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to use a tool to cut cardboard—it was a unique and engaging activity. Even though a few spaces were closed for updates, we honestly didn't feel like we were missing a thing. There was still so much to see and do that we didn't get to explore everything! We saw a live demonstration and got to work in Steven's Lab, a hands-on opportunity to tinker and form scientific hypotheses. There was so much to do, I actually felt bad having to pull my daughter away to try and see as much as we could before nap time. The outdoor space was another highlight. It offered a great chance for kids to run, jump, and explore in a different environment. We went on a great day—it wasn't packed, though I imagine it might be during holidays or later in the school year with school trips. I even declared to my husband that if we lived in Calgary, I would get a membership. There is just so much to see and do here that it's worth coming back for again and again. Overall, Telus Spark is a must-visit. It's an incredibly well-designed space that seamlessly combines fun and learning.

Visited on a Friday. Despite some good reviews, not worth the cost. So many of the activities and exhibits were "closed for repair " or simply closed with no explanation. (Photos of some of many that were closed. The VR zone sould have been open when we were there. We were told it was closed and summarily dismissed. ) Plenty of staff around who were uninterested in engaging with clients. The displays that were functional were unimpressive. The cafeteria wouldn't serve us at 2pm although it said it was open until 3pm. The toilets were filthy. The toddler toilet was "closed for repair". Handicap buttons for doors were worn so that identification paint wasn't visible. Doubtful this place could pass a fire inspection. I recommend the zoo or Heritage Park or Bell Media Centre. This place needs an overhaul of its management, board of directors, and basic priorities.

Google
Super place! Even though it was a busy day with lots of school kids visiting, it was still absolutely fantastic. Loved the hands-on experiments you can join anytime, the VR experience, and the robot dog was awesome!

Google
We love this centre and have purchased a family membership for several years. It has always been a favourite place for our family visits. For many families, including ours, Saturdays — especially the second half of the day — were often the only time available to visit. Closing at 4:00 pm on Saturdays has made it much harder to plan these family outings. The centre is still wonderful, and we truly hope this decision will be reconsidered.

Google
This is around my 3rd time going to Telus Spark and my thoughts are now Confirmed, I had went to the Infinity Dome, The Snack Shop, and others! The Snack Shop had some cool stuff to eat but some were a bit… overpriced. But the movie, Me and my Friend-group went to watch Hazelnuts (A 25 Minute Animated Show) Then we explored the Areas (I had initially forgotten the category names) We tried the Bed with nails (It was more uncomfortable than Scary, My friend said “I did it with out the pillow do not recommend”) They also have a Sensory test, where they have you taste gummy bears and ask you questions on what you taste! And there was a Booth where you take photos! (Doesn’t Print it out) but since I don’t remember if it has a name or not, I’ll be calling it the “Digital Photo Machine”

Yelp
Lots of things to do for kids and adults. If you plan to go here, would definitely recommend signing up for the Tourism Calgary because you get 20% of your total admission and the staff will help you find the best deals for your group. We had fun checking out all the district activities and the bar part was that we waited to long to go to the cafe so loud of things are not available closed to closing time. The Infinity Dome was cool but the shows were a little less intriguing. There wasn't much that was following the theme for month of October.

Yelp
It is a very cool place some neet exhibits but it is etremely overpriced. The food was absolutely revolting parking was a hassle

Yelp
First the place would be better with children. We went and dont have kids so it wasnt amazing but it was pretty fun. The featured exhibit and the being human area were great. Would like to have tried the VR but way too big a line. Not a ton to keep adults busy but I imagine with kids could easily spend a day!

Yelp
Save your money I had booked a show (Pink Floyd) for Dec 21 but due to a flu we could not go. I called the Telus Spark in Calgary and they told me to email to enquire about getting my tickets rebooked. They suggested I use emails to Hubblo, they said "no one has any luck calling" I tried calling but to no prevail. I did however get a text back explaining me to send an email for what day/time I'd like to reschedule the thickets for. After checking online, I sent in my request in for Dec 28, but no new tickets where sent, nor did I get any response from either email or text. I finally got a return via text saying the tickets are all sold out. Yeh NOW they are all sold out but not last week when I asked for the new day/time. My guess no one followed up because people are lazy and don't care about service any more. Telus Spark/Hubblo clearly does not care about the consumer and this will show in the future when they go out of business. I for one will forward this onto as many reviews and tell people not to bother. Very Disappointed Regards Paul

Yelp
Save your money! Not Worth it! WAY over Priced for what you get! Run Down. Not enough activities. Taking a child that is 10yrs or older is a big waste of your money. Pieces missing out of activities, in the human body activity center. Parking is $12, Adult ticket is $33, child is $24, food way over priced. (Eg. Ice cream cones over $8.) Unless you have money to burn don't waste it. There are far better activities to take kids to in Calgary.

Gloria F.

Yelp
We had a few hours to kill and have the kids entertained. This was the perfect place. Lots of activities for the kids . The ride on the robotic arm was the most loved . They have a couple of eating areas for kids as well.

Robert M.

Yelp
This is the worst science centre I have ever been too. We have an 11 and 12 year old. One main exhibit hall, broken display, faded instructions, closed exhibit spaces. Between admission and a barely passible lunch still cost $200 plus for a family of four. Save your money and go to the zoo or the Glenbow museum to see more and get a better bang for your buck. Very very disappointed
google avatar

Rocky P.

Yelp
I've been to a number of similar science centres and I have to say that Telus Spark is right up there. The standing exhibits are pretty entertaining and engaging for all ages. One downside is that parking isn't free because it shares the overall lot with the Calgary Zoo. Make sure you pay your parking as they do ticket regularly. As you can see from my photos, they have travelling exhibits which have included Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience. I thought it was freaking awesome!! A mix of models, costumes and activities, it's what one expects from exhibits in a science centre. I've also attend BodyWorlds and others here which help make the visit worth it. As Edmonton and Calgary are far enough apart from each other, they participate in a reciprocal science centre general admission program if you have a membership at your local facility. Really nice perk when your visit is free and admission to travelling exhibits is cheaper like only having to pay $10 for Star Trek. Great deal.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Great place for kiddos, especially in the winter when playgrounds are a no-go! My 3 and 5 year old love it.

Maryjo M.

Yelp
This place is packed with schoolchildren from several schools, there's no room for anyone. They should post the school visits so we can avoid the hundreds of students who basically run wild. Not worth the price of admission. Cafeteria prices also high, gouging everyone.

Yelp
What a disappointing experience... the old science centre was fantastic but this? I just... I have no words. Telus spark is a great way to ruin your day... or weekend... or week. The children of the future are doomed. Science sucks. Glenbow forever.

Yelp
I don't visit museums often, but this was one of the most interactive and educational museums I've ever gone to! I think it's good for all ages, though I would bring my kids here one day (once I get lil munchkins of my own). There are activities that inform you and also let you think. Just think of a Dave and Busters but educational. There are two floors, obstacle courses, and a huge slide outside! I think you should reserve a minimum 4 hours for this place. I wanted to do more but time was limited. I really enjoyed myself here! I would totes come back here!

Lena F.

Yelp
Everyone was wearing masks and there were people cleaning through out the day. Many stations for the kids to play and learn in an hour to two. Especially if the kids are interested in science or have a certain topic that they like. Such as body, weather etc. If too young, it may not be the most fun place. There were helpers around the place all the time. I liked how they had a big dome movie theatre and a show hourly. I think it's the biggest in North America. Also, they had a outdoor and indoor playground. We grabbed the space ice cream. We had to wait 30min-1 hour as the machine needed some work. We tried Mercury, Neptune and Saturn. Many other different kinds. It was good. They may not be the colour or look the way it's described but still cool.

Yelp
We had such a fun visit here at the Telus Spark Science Centre! The exhibit was super cool and the staff were all super nice. It was such a fun way to spend the afternoon. I definitely would recommend checking this place out !

Henry P.

Yelp
If you don't have kids then just don't. I ended up paying $60 for me and my wife just to find out it really is literally just meant for kids.
google avatar

Kasia G.

Yelp
This was always a fave for the kids. No matter how many times we visited, they always found something new to explore. The playground was always a hit with the younger ones. Food was also good which is a rare find.
google avatar

Lulu P.

Yelp
I wonder why they need to charge for parking... that should be already covered with the entrance ticket to the museum. The exhibitions are good for children, but there is not much stuff for adults... They do have Adult only nights, but does it mean there will be exhibitions for adults? well... no, sadly that's not the case. This just gives an opportunity to explore the museum without children yelling and running around. The dome show is really nice, I wish the seats were recliners so you can have a better view without getting torticollis. You need to pay an extra ticket if you want to see the dome show. Hmm, I kind of expected more from a science museum, but if you have kids and live in Calgary, you should take them there. If you go on the Halloween weekend, most of the kids wear costumes, as well as the staff.

Yelp
Been here a few times now and I must say the experience is for all ages. Staff are super friendly and the gift shop has great selection of items. There is a fun play area for kids that consist of a huge playground, water table and many science play tables. There is cafeteria (haven't eaten but pricing looks decent) There is multiple level of science and learning tables for all ages. Overall a great place to spend a few hours at!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came to check out the new science centre in January for an adults only night. The theme of the night was "Find a new hobby". It was pretty great. In the main hall they invited local clubs to come set up shop and show everyone what they were about. There was stamp collecting, R/C vehicles, chess, and Lego among others. Most importantly, there was a cash bar. Though you couldn't go into the exhibit areas with your beverage (damn spilly talkers ruining things for the rest of us), you could wander through the main hall and chat with the different clubs while you sipped away. From what I could tell the vast majority of regular exhibits were open. Even the younger kids area. The tree house/fort was full of people running around in their socked feet. I would argue that this area was the best part next to the booze. If I'm ever in town again when an adults-only night is happening I'm definitely going to make an effort to visit again.

Yelp
Awesome place to visit! Go during the week and check the online day calendar. It will show you how many schools will be there so you can come on a slow day if you prefer. They also give you $5 off your parking ticket, bring the receipt one you pay.

Yelp
The New Science Centre, otherwise known as TELUS Spark, is much, much larger than its predecessor. I went on opening day on my own to check it out, and was impressed by how much space there was to play in. Some parts of the centre were either still under construction or not open yet, but the four main exhibits that were open all offered plenty of opportunities for all ages to explore science and to be creative. Like the old Science Centre, most, if not all of the exhibits had a hands-on component to it. You could experiment generating and playing with electricity in a variety of ways, attempt to create craters or dams, build windmills and pipelines, test your reaction time, create music, and so much more. I spent at least three hours on my own just exploring and playing around. In fact, the four main exhibits are perfect if you want to bring along the kids, or even a friend or a date as there are many opportunities to play together collaboratively. There's a presentation theatre that has special presentations every hour, and various group activities routinely occur in the atrium area as well. The Creative Children's Area (which you can only enter if you have a child, or know a staff member who'll clear you for entrance) is much bigger than before as well, with a giant water table, illuminated tables, padded play areas, and a wicked cool jungle gym with an air cannon on the second level that the kid in me really, really wanted to try. The best improvement of all though is the fact that washrooms are now installed within the area, which makes it much easier if you're a parent with a child. As of this writing, some areas of the centre weren't open yet. Those include the Dome Theatre and the external exhibits area where special or traveling exhibits will eventually debut. For now, the centre is focusing on showcasing their four permanent exhibits. My only complaints with the venue is that there is no obvious pathway from the Zoo LRT station to TELUS Spark. I'm a transit user myself, and while it's a short distance away from the station on foot, you'll be crossing parking lots and a couple of grassy areas to get there. Also note that the gift shop and the cafe is considered outside of the exhibits, so if you want to do some quick shopping or grab a bite to eat and then go back in, you'll need to show security your ticket or pass again. A minor annoyance, especially if you're not expecting it, so don't lose your ticket! Also, I could totally see the cafe running out of seating if it's a busy day down there. Not sure what more can be done about that though, and it isn't like the old location had a lot of seating as well. Considering this was opening day, the venue was a little rough around the edges, and parts of the centre either weren't ready, had a few kinks to work out, or were still under construction. That said, it's an interesting space that shows a lot of promise and potential, and is much better suited than the old space downtown. There's something to see and do for everyone, so it's definitely worth checking out, even if you're an adult.

Yelp
Expensive but spent way longer there than I imagined I would. Entertaining. Gone are the days of the Science Centre with the shadow wall and the giant keyboard. This place is high tech and clearly in an oil and gas -wealthy province. I missed the earth sciences but did feel fully entertained for the three hours I spent here seeing all of it. Enjoyed the stop motion animation and the On Fire free Demo. Check it out. Better to do with a friend or group as it's interactive and most booths work better in a pair. Liked that they had free cell phone charger stations in the cafeteria but kinda wish they had been at the beginning so I could have made use of it instead of at the end of my visit when I just needed a little something to tie me over. Overall pretty fun for the nerdy dorky me but kinda expensive.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that I've definitely been to better science centres (Toronto & Cleveland come to mind), but it is a beautiful building with lots of activities to keep young minds entertained and engaged. The theatre is excellent and larger than most. The restaurant serves up a good variety of choices with lots of healthy options plus dishes that cater to most dietary restrictions (ie. vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, dairy free ect). Prices at the cafeteria are reasonable. Admission is a little on the pricey side (expect to pay $100 for a family of four + parking). Overall it's a day well spent with your family.

Yelp
I am a professional scientist. I went here for a dome show but walked around to look at a few exhibits before going to my show. I was shocked and saddened to see the amount of non-scientific learning here. Literally it was like kids playing with plastic toys with some vague connection to learning an actual science lesson. This was the saddest "science" centre I have ever seen and was nothing more than an overpriced playground for 2 year olds. Went to the dome show about Bugs and it was horrible. The seats barely recline as you reach your neck back to see the entire screen and the seats spring back upright. You can't stabilize the recline without some spark worker telling you to keep your feet off the metal bar. It was blurry and horribly narrated. If you want to have a more educational experience stay at home and show your children Planet Earth on high definition TV. Total waste of money. I'm actually kind of offended that they dumb things down so much...kids are a lot smarter than this place gives them credit for. Telus, if you're trying to inspire kids for a career in science, make real science exhibits not playground toys.
google avatar

Mom L.

Yelp
Had a great time here last week. If you have a toddler or preschooler, they may love it here and not want to leave (bring a transitional object like a favourite snack!) Tip: bring an extra set of clothes in case they play in the water! The water contains bleach for hygiene reasons so be mindful of what you and your little one wear. I just rinsed the clothes out if they got wet.
google avatar

Marc K.

Yelp
Kids only! This Science Centre is no comparison to Science North in Sudbury or the Science Centre in Toronto where you can actually go as an adult and learn something. As others already mentioned this is an indoor kids playground with a premium admission fee - and you even pay an extra $5 for parking! Adults night? May be no kids but still the same exhibitions which are definitely not targeted to suit adults.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
What an evening! My boyfriend and I came here for the adults only night featuring the creation of alcohol theme. It was my first time at the spark and it won't be my last! From the outdoor maze and super slide, to all the fun exhibits, the yummy drinks and furry friends walking around were just the icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back!

Greg K.

Yelp
Came to Calgary from Winnipeg and was looking for something 'neat' for my daughter and I to do... Seemed great from the website... But felt disappointed when we finally arrived. Big beautiful space with very little actually in it. Although my 12 year old did enjoy portions of it, many exhibits were in disrepair or completely broken. Definitely not worth the price of admission.
google avatar

Maria T.

Yelp
This is the first interactive museum I've been to. It's huge! There's an inside and outside to it, with two levels on the inside. Walking around, it seemed like a more kid-friendly place but I was able to have fun myself. This is definitely somewhere I'd like to take my future kids. Each station is pretty cool, as it teaches you or challenges you to do certainly things. I would say that you need at least 2 hours in here, and that might not be enough to hit everything.
google avatar

Dwayne E.

Yelp
Had a good time here with the kids. Nice to see so much for them to learn and interact with. As a parent it's a great way to spend an afternoon.
google avatar

Tarek S.

Yelp
Really cool museum with lots of fun events and exhibits. My son played for hours and hours and probably could have played all day. The reason for the average marks is because the price of the museum is super high - $20 CAD for adults and $13 CAD for a 4 year old. Also that only gets you access to the main exhibits and there are upcharges for additional exhibits. The cafe also wasn't very appetizing so we skipped it and had lunch elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm giving this place 1 star because it's required on Yelp to actually give a star. What a HUGE disappointment, on so many levels: - It's $20 per ticket, and it does NOT include ALL the short films/movie they are featuring at the Dome. For reals? - Parking is $5, whatever. - The cafetaria resembles something like a run-down Ikea and hospital food court. The food was mediocre, expensive, lack of healthy selections, and taken over by big food corporations. -The DOME: Suppose to be HD @ 4K. I'm sure it is, but what they were showing was definitely not HD @ 4K. It was pixelated, from beginning to end. The design of the seating could not have been worse. You can see the rail (back of your chair) right across your view as you try to enjoy this awesome pixelated movie above your head. - The "exhibitions" mind as well be called kids playtime area. Types of exhibitions include "make your own river stream with these rocks", or "what crude oil feels like when you stir it with a giant metal stick". Seriously? this is a SCIENCE center. What happened to real learning? Shouldn't this be catered towards everyone? I mean, there's not even a telescope, ANY type of telescope! This place resembles nothing but corporate donated money and lack of creativity across the board. Even designs on their sweatshirts look like a powerpoint presentation. Apparently there's adult nights on Thursdays. Maybe this place is better when you're drunk, REALLY DRUNK.
google avatar

Josh G.

Yelp
I wish there was a way to give negative stars... I can't believe what happened. I remember the original science centre--it was great! Hands on, cool look, fun activities, rides, planetarium.......it was great! This new one was designed by someone totally clueless! $20 to get in(after paying for parking) to do what? Touch some iPads: ooohhh! Look at core samples (not touch, just look). There was a Great Wall dedicated towards sexual education. Awesome! Way to waste millions and build the worst science centre in the country
google avatar

Nathaniel M.

Yelp
40 million dollars and 1 million a year to operate, total fail. Corruption, disease, cancerous city officials and construction companies. I wonder if allison redford needed a new 100 foot porche' limo when nenshi ok'd this... A square warehouse with 2 floors and a bunch of useless instillations that would have made the old centre cry. I grew up going to the old science centre , and as the theatre was used for plays, I also saw many shows there. The spherical star-gazing alone puts the new building to shame. I put myself in the mindset of a child and still i was horribly dissapointed at everything the centre had. the best is an interesting ball machine that only comes on once a day for 5 minutes... an electronic sound-light painting screen. Brando would just start crying "the horror - the horror"...
google avatar

Eirene H.

Yelp
So expensive... I'm from Toronto which has an amazing Science Centre and reasonable prices (I paid around 10$ for entry) which is also very big so I'm definitely biased; however, 20$/person is such a turn off when you're not being Wowed. I found Telus Spark "monotonous" and boring. I've been there 4 times in a year (what I get for having many child relatives) and each time, little changed. The exhibits and activities were relatively the same, which I don't find fair in terms of the price.
google avatar

Kitty T.

Yelp
I try not to compare between cities, but in this case it's hard not to. Having been to the Telus World of Science in Vancouver just last year I was expecting something like that for the Spark. Perhaps I was expecting too much or even the wrong thing, but it was so not worth the admission fee they were charging! There was literally nothing for the adults to do. It was probably fun for the kids to construct various things but that was pretty much it. My friend and I basically paid $21 each to babysit our kids at the various stations. And oh on top of that you have to pay a $5 parking fee. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon...

Yelp
Telus Spark. I came to visit you for your first adult only night. This, frankly, is a great idea. I can't wait to experience more of you with no minors around (especially since I don't have any of my own). What I'm fond of: - Your music and animation exhibit. I had a great time making music while painting colours and creating my own animation movie. Extra points for being able to email that to me. - The jungle gym in the kids area. Uber fun, who doesn't love crawling around? - That you are teaching people to solder. Also cool. - Your volunteers. They were amazing! And engaging. I had several come up to me to explain what I was supposed to be doing (and challenging me to build a taller pipe than what your average 8 year old would do). What I'm not as fond of: - That it costs $5 extra for parking. I'm already paying $20 to come inside. The nice thing is that there's a Ctrain stop right near you. The not so good news is the fare for the Ctrain will pretty much even out what I'd pay on parking. I hate paying for parking. - More soldering stations. If you do this again at an adult night, have a table for like 20 people to sit at... not just 4. - More... coolness. Where's the cool? It's in your light, music and animation section. You're the science centre. Show me something really amazing and science-y. Like, the little boards you have by the window. Instead of having them be activities like, "Look for someone wearing a backpack," I was expecting even some weird light refraction thing or something that'd change what I was seeing through it when I looked around the room or out the window. All in all, you're alright. I get that you've only been open for a month or so. But I wasn't wowed. And I certainly didn't feel like I got my $20 worth. I am contemplating buying the annual membership for $90. I think the adult nights will be the times I come visit you, and that just seems like a helluva better deal (not to mention the complimentary parking that comes with it).

Yelp
Sorry, the bang for your buck is NOT there. The building is big and new but it is just ..MEH! I went with a B-day party of 10-12 kids, will they were running around and playing and exploring it got old and boring fast for them. This place is something that you go to once maybe..... and that is it. there was a family that bought a season pass before going into the play area.. they were asking if they could get a refund for their family because like we at the Bday party experienced, there is not much more you can do that cant be done once. The education is very good, but the value is not. plus you will have to pay $5 to park your car....

Yelp
Ok. Another Vancouverism to start. We have Science world and I thought that sucked. Well, I'm sorry Science World...I was wrong. Telus spark had the animatronic thing on so we decided to go. That was a bust. A bunch of models on a stand, most of which don't do anything, and those that do are sucky? Wow. On being bored of this "great" exhibit after 10 minutes we took our 5 year old to the rest of the sights. 1 - play with sand in water 2 - build a pipeline out of plastic tubing 3 - roll some balls down a drum There should be an age limit to 5 max there. Completely underwhelmed. I'm not sure if our 5 year old was more advanced, but she seemed bored stiff.....as did a bunch of other kids. For $60 and 2 hours, we should have found indoor mini golf.

Yelp
Personally I preferred the original Telus Science Centre to the new Telus Spark. It seemed to have more stuff and I personally didn't mind the layout at all. True, this new facility is huge but found that a lot of it is office space or theatres/galleries which didn't have anything going the time we went in. On the top level, there is a wonderful discovery area, the kids particularly loved the music and animation studios. There is also a cafeteria up there too, I just found that there were strange separate entrances to the upper levels that the public had access to which lead to conference rooms. The dome theatre was not open so that was a let down, and found the Being Human exhibit was blah. The kids loved the indoor jungle gym and water discovery area on the main floor but the rest of that section seemed to be less than stellar. On the other side, there was a feature presentation area with nothing presented and 2 other exhibits, the Energy and Earth & Sky, yawn, again nothing to rave about. The staff and volunteers were all great, many described the stations and helped out, thanks guy who helped us record our jumps! Would I come back? Well, the entry fees are INSANE!!! SERIOUSLY! A family of four if eating in the cafeteria could easily drop $100 for a couple of hours, personally not a great value in my opinion considering there were no feature presentations or exhibits, no dome theatre, yet, and topping it off with gauging us for parking in their own lot, ya, not going to happen again. I will let my little ones enjoy it with their school field trips from now on. Pass.

Yelp
Don't waste your money. They have the new movies but it's not the drive-in experience we all miss. Instead of a Drive in size projection screen they have 3 smaller LED screens. The sound comes through your car radio which means you have to keep your vehicle running (illegal) or let the battery die, or turn the car on every 15 minutes and let it run to prevent the dead battery. On the upside, they do have jumpstart kits readily available. ha.

Yelp
1/3 of the exhibits were broken. Not nearly enough staff to explain how to use, or to clean the exhibits. 30 minute wait in line to get lunch and no free table for my son and I to sit at. For us to have had a good time there would need to either be twice as much things to do or half the number of kids. Terrible experience and way too expensive.

Yelp
I love Telus Spark, I play at all the exhibitions with my daughter, it's a great time for both of us. We bought a membership, well worth it, as it's a wonderful place to go during the cold winter months. Summer is great, as they have a wonderful outdoor area. Currently they have the "circus" theme which is great fun!! In terms of parking, I avoid driving and take the c-train as the train is very close by.

Yelp
In comparison to other science centres I have visited, this one is mediocre. While it was certainly entertaining for the kids, there was not much educational value in it. Explanations would improve many of the experiments. One notable exception was the little show with experiments on temperature, which was very nicely done. Overall it was more of a playground than a science centre. The adults in our company missed chairs to sit on while waiting for the kids. There is nothing to sit on within the exhibits that is not part of the actual experiments. For what it is, I think the place is too expensive (20$ for adults, 16$ for teens and 13$ for kids under 12). A family of four can easily spent 100$ on entrance fees, parking and average quality cafeteria food.

Yelp
We went tonight despite the mixed bag of reviews I have read about adults night. (every 2nd Thurs of each month this happens) We had tickets from our social club from work that were discounted 50% off so why not go check it out? I was also OK with the $5 parking. I saw security riding his bike diligently down all the parking aisles so at least our cars are being looked after. Parking was tough to find, it was a busy night! Make sure you bring your parking stub as you will have to get that paid for inside. All staff were genuinely very nice and awesome with any questions. They love first timers like us! There is a map at the entrance so you can see where you are going. There were 5 exhibits you could go into - we hit them all. They were OK. I liked the Earth and Sky the best. I think I realized that I learned about myself this night - that I was even into water and wind and how it effects the earth because I was reading ALL the placards about it all. I could have cared less about rocks in my Gr 9 geography class! So who knows, like me, you may come in here and learn something! Many of the adults were having fun, participating in the little activities in each zone. My husband enjoyed the energy area best but of course - he is an engineer! There were alcoholic drinks to buy if you wanted to wait in line. We skipped this as well as other lined up events going on in the lobby (collect your own DNA to take home?, find your blood type, learn how to knit, etc) It was cool that many people had their dogs with them to promote awareness on pet therapy. I had to pet them all and the owners were all so friendly! Washrooms and the building itself was clean and I loved that there were hand wash stations everywhere. There is a cafe upstairs where you can get hot food, smoothies, juice, pop, yogurt, salad. We took a walk through and it was great! Bright and lots of seating. Lastly, we enjoyed the gift shop. I am the furthest thing from a geek, even if I were to try but there were a lot of cool "science-y" things in there. Of note - books for kids with a dinosaur on the front that is titled "All My Friends Are Dead". LOL What? And one other one to remember for the kids - "Here is The Scoop On Your Poop". Things have changed a lot since I was a kid! Science is not as boring anymore! We had a nice date night out and we would consider going back to adults night maybe once a year to see what is new and changed.

Yelp
It's OK to try this place out once just to say you've been there. The architecture, although interesting inside looks like an indecisive prison from the outside. Maybe that's why they had to shine multi-coloured lights on it at night? I went during one of the adult only nights. The children's exhibits were not bad. The other exhibits were Zzzzzz (boring) Really, I'm not there to learn about soil erosion or how oil is made.. oh wait I forgot we're in Calgary. It was way too expensive for our ticket for what we got out of it. To top it all off we had to pay $5 for parking. I've experienced better science centers before at half the price this one charges. I say they need to step up their game or they'll end up loosing money.

Yelp
Totally disorganized. Firstly, I tried to buy tickets for a dome show on the website. After clicking on the date we wanted to go see the show on two different calendars, it still did not put the date correct date on the tickets. I had to get them refunded and re-do the order CHANGING the date manually. Next, we arrived 30 min before the show and I asked the employee by the front entrance where we go for the dome show. She directed us to a line on the left so we waited there. 2pm came and went and we had not advanced very far in the line. I then went to ask a security guard about the show. She looked at me and said, "Oh the show has already started! Go up the stairs and I'll call someone to let you in". Another employee then came up the stairs and let us in. Once inside the sound person let us know once again that we were late and that there were no more seats left and we should have come earlier. I then explained that we were 30 min early and that we were miss-guided by the person at the front door. He the actually said to me that 30min was too early and that we should have showed up 5min early instead! are you freaking kidding me! This place is run by idiots! Do not go!

Yelp
The lower level was lacking, and the tornado alley IMAX movie was very poor. Not only is admission quite high, you also pay extra to see the IMAX movie (even gold members pay extra!) and they charge for parking despite everyone parking is there to visit the facility. It's just ridiculous. I'll never be back. I'll go to the zoo instead. The upstairs interactive place quite cool, but not worth the price.

Yelp
There is no place better to take preschool children on a weekend. There is so much for them to do in the preschool area, it's hard to get them to go home. They learn by doing and have so much in the process. There is also a great climbing gym. The parachute games and water area are really fun too. We have a pass and go almost every weekend. We recently went to an experiment in the theatre on fire and gas and we were totally enthralled. Everyone in the audience was from young to old. Then the kids rode a hovercraft across the floor in the main area. This was well worth the wait in line. The five year old was so proud of himself that he could climb to the top of the outside climbing structure and go down the slide by himself. He did it several times. In the winter science centre lets young children use up a lot of energy even when it is really cold outside. Don't listen to the nay-sayers but try it yourself.
