Great Chinese food. Perfect tea soaked duck. The black bean sauce was amazing, peefect flavor. Service was really bad, had to call owner over to our table to get help, fixing errors and taking our meal order. I think it was just our server that was bad, the other servers there seemed attentive to all their tables, owner was great, and fixed things right away.

Best Chinese I've ever had. I grew up from queens NYC. Chinese American cusine is an integral part of my life and this place is by far the best I've ever had. I've ordered take out twice and dined in once at this point. Reservations are highly recommended as this place gets packed quick. I've ordered the following dishes and they were all cooked to perfection! Beef with orange peel Mongolian beef Tofu with vegetables Pineapple fried rice with shrimp and Chinese sausage. Mapo tofu Chicken lo mein It was all perfect. Also their shrimp dumplings, egg drop soup, and hot and soup was perfect too. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. I will slowly start to eat everything in the menu while I'm a melbourne local!

Telly's was amazing. My fiance had been wanting to go since it opened and we finally got there. The food and service were amazing. Telly himself, visited our table often, that night. We felt very special. It's a classy place with really good food. Flavorful, authentic with a modern twist.

Google
Nice & clean place. Food is great! Not pictured; salt & pepper squid for appetizer, also very good. The owner (I guess his name is Telly) is very friendly and very engaged with customers. This time there were 2 servers for the whole restaurant, and it was almost full, so our waiter was rushing, so if you crave something, make sure you plan & know what you order is going to be. Suggestion: if you want to eat the whole fish, plan to arrive before 8 pm. It takes 30-45 minutes to cook it, they close at 9 pm. We came around 8:00 - 8:05, our waiter said no to our fish order but Telly said yes and he made it possible. We’ll be back.

Tely's Chinese Restaurant 6450 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32940 4.5 Stars Feeling a tad esurient, I steeled my nerves and proceeded OTB for a visit to Tely's Chinese Restaurant in Suntree (Melbourne). The people who respect food and dining are the ones I respect. The ones who, through the art of practiced ereption, steal from the general dining public by wiping their feet on the industry are the ones I write nasty things about. Thankfully, Tely Tse, the owner of Tely's Chinese Restaurant and the owner of former Brevard giant Yen Yen is one of those restaurateurs I highly respect. After 18 years at Yen Yen and 8 more here, Tely is doing many things right. Danielle is our wait staff today, and while this fine example of a lady has a pulse of zero, do not let that fool you or put you off, as she does not suffer in the least from ergasiophobia. She performed her duties with outstanding professionalism. I asked Danielle for an order of the whole fried fish, scallops in their XO sauce, Snow White Prawns and a bowl of Hot and Sour Soup. Relaxing with the place's vibe, I sat back, snapped some pictures and eagerly awaited Danielle's return. My wait was within an acceptable time frame. I soon found myself basking in the delectable aromas that assaulted my olfactory senses as Danielle set my order on the table. I have to direct your eyes to the pictures at this point. If that is not an artistic culinary presentation, I don't know what is. Everything is screaming freshness and was made on-site. I assure you, everything smelled as good as it looked. Anticipatorily, I grabbed my tools of dietary obliteration and got to work. I had asked for my whole fried fish to be served in their Chinese Black Bean Sauce. Traditionally, this sauce is made from douchi (fermented black soybeans), garlic, and soy sauce. It is then simmered down to a delectable slightly thick sauce. Tely's nailed it. The fish was fried to a deliciousness not often experienced and the sauce was amazingly flavorful. Forcing myself to move on, I turned my attention to the Scallops in XO sauce. XO sauce is considered one of the most expensive, prestigious and luxurious sauces in Hong Kong Cuisine. It is customarily made from dried scallops, dried shrimp, fine smoked ham, chili, garlic, lemongrass and other seasonings. The menu clearly states “No refund and return on any dishes that are cooked with the XO sauce,” which, of course, made me want to try it. I mean, how can something touted as having such luxurious taste be made in such a way that someone would return it? After one bite, I wasn't sure. The second one allowed me to begin to form an opinion and the third one had me on the bandwagon. This has to be one of the most exotic and flavorful sauces I have ever had the pleasure of scarfing down. Wow is about all I can say. Moving on, albeit regretfully, I forked a prawn and popped it in my cake hole. These are Tely's take on the traditional Chinese creamy-style shrimp. Once again, Tely proclaims his sovereignty over Middle Kingdom cuisine in Brevard County with this outstanding dish. Suffice it to say everything was marvelously prepared and obviously done so with love. Least I forget, the Hot and Sour soup here is the real deal. This is not something Panda Express made to suit what some corporate suit thinks Americans want or expect in ethnic food. The Big Boy says, “Anytime you want to experience the best Brevard has to offer in Hong Kong cuisine, go to Tely's Chinese Restaurant.”

I've been seeing so much rave about this location that I decided to give them a try but decided to do take out. While the pictures seemed to be on the healthier and good looking side I got home with my food and was a tad bit disappointed. I was expecting to be blown away with flavor. We ordered Bok Choy with garlic as stated on the menu but requested them steamed. When I opened my container it was exactly steamed bok choy with no garlic no salt literally steamed plain. We also ordered a large fried rice and added soy sauce and bean sprouts but there seemed to be something missing as far as flavor despite the vegetables and soy sauce. Don't get me wrong it is good (3 out of 5) but not rock my taste buds good. The mandarin chicken was good as well. Will I try them again? Probably not for take out but for dine in only. This restaurant may be more of a hit as a dine in than a take out in my experience. Tried calling to see if I could get a redo of atleast the bok choy but due to the distance to the restaurant and lack of answering from the establishment, I found myself creating this review based on my experience without seeing if it was possible error on my part.

Google
Our first time getting take out here. Their ordering app is easy, no hitches. They called us to say our order was ready! Our welcome at the restaurant was warm and inviting. The food was fabulous. We will definitely be back!

Google
Excellent food. Like everyone else, I highly recommend the egg rolls. We also loved the duck and the egg Foo young. I have to acknowledge that, compared to other Chinese takeout places they are a little pricier, but I'm happy to pay a little more for excellent quality and this was excellent quality. I happily give them 5 stars and we'll definitely be back

Yelp
Great food and service is hard to find. Not at Tely's! The restaurant gives the customer a warm and fuzzy feeling. Very clean and comfortable. Waiters and waitresses are nicely dressed and very friendly. The menu gives you a very good choice of food. Everything we have ordered there was great. Make reservations as the restaurant fills up quickly. Enjoy!

Carolyn S.

Yelp
The service was great, attentive but not rushed. I would recommend reservations because on Friday evening this joint was hopping! My husband had the whole fish, one of his favorites and was well pleased. Best Chinese food we have come across since Red Ginger changed their menu and became very Americanized in my opinion. We will certainly be going back!

Chris M.

Yelp
Hands down, the best Chinese I've had in a long time Going back tomorrow for Shanghai Noodles.

Yelp
Food 5/5 the best food outside of aging Kong that I have had. We ordered a second round of dumplings. The painters chicken and XO sauce are both craveable dishes. Service 5/5 the owner even comes over to chat. That means a lot. Ambiance 5/5 they have pictures in the wall of local famous people dining. We are going back tonight! So so good.

Yelp
FAVORITE ALL TIME CHINESE RESTAURANT. been there many times and everything I've ever ordered was delicious. Their are to die for! 5 Star

Bill S.

Yelp
The food was fresh and tasty! Our waiter Paul was excellent. I've never been to an Asian restaurant where the wait staff was so well dressed!

Yelp
I was introduced to this restaurant by my husband, whose grandparents took him to Tely's former restaurant in Cocoa Beach when he was a child. This is emotional eating for him! There are several menu items that carried over from the other restaurant, including Mandarin Chicken, that only Tely can create over and over at the same phenomenal quality and taste. Every time we go to eat there, we are welcomed by the owner, who is always on the floor making sure that his customers are satisfied. At one time or another, he can be seen seating customers, taking orders, serving, and even bussing tables! The environment is casual with formal service. Reservations are recommended; we were informed that there was a 30 minute wait when we walked in, but Tely was able to seat us in 5 minutes! The food! Amazing! We always order Mandarin chicken, rolls and dumplings. This time I ordered a beef stew served sizzling; so tender and full of flavor. It feels good to go to a restaurant knowing the owners and employees CARE for the place where they work and serve. Please support this business!!

Jason S.

Yelp
Great, fresh take on Chinese food. Instead of the usual orange/lemon sweet and sour, they do strawberry kiwi. And the Mongolian beef is delicious! Interior is pretty generic, but elegant and clean. It's on our regular go-to list.

Maura P.

Yelp
The service is amazing! The food is good. The prawns were cold, delicious though, but the fried rice was so delicious. I think what makes this restaurant a five star restaurant is the service. They are wonderful.

Agnes R.

Yelp
Best Chinese food .. such a clean & favorable taste !! Highly recommend .. make sure to make a reservation as is usually pretty full

Will H.

Yelp
Tely's is an absolute gem! Every time we visit, the food is consistently excellent, offering fresh, flavorful dishes that never disappoint. Whether we're dining in or ordering takeout, we know we can always count on the quality and taste to be top-notch. The service is friendly and efficient, and we have never had anything less than a fantastic experience. It's rare to find a place where you can confidently say you've never had a bad meal, but Tely's delivers every single time. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious Chinese cuisine!

Adam D.

Yelp
This was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time. The hot and sour soup was spicy and peppery, thick, and full of vegetables and tofu. I had never seen fried pumpkin slices on a menu, so I ordered it for the table. Everyone enjoyed the slices, perfectly fried (in a tempura batter?) on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. We didn't order spring rolls, but saw how big they were at another table, so I figured, "why not?". They are the biggest spring rolls I've ever seen and full of pork, whole shrimp, and veggies, wrapped in a crispy roll. For dinner, we ordered several dishes, since we were traveling with picky children, and everyone found something to enjoy. The kids enjoyed Mandarin chicken and sesame chicken. We also got young chow fried rice and vegetable lo mein. I loved the wood ear mushrooms in the lo mein. And for me and my father, we ordered mapo tofu extra spicy. The tofu was soft, the sauce was spicy and so flavorful, and the pieces of pork completed the dish. This was one of my favorite mapo tofu dishes I've ever had. All in all, we ate just about every single morsel on the table, and my mom begged the owner several times to open in Palm Beach County where we live. We will be back every time we visit the Melbourne area - no doubt!

Holli C.

Yelp
Great pineapple fried rice! Highly recommend this restaurant. Great atmosphere and service too!

Kevin T.

Yelp
For those seeking Snow White Prawns, Tely's has kept this Yen-Yen delicacy alive and I for one sure am glad. Tiger Prawn shrimp in a sweet creamy white sauce, unbelievable.

Barry B.

Yelp
If reservations are required for dine-in, then it should be openly declared on the website. The restaurant is not found on RESY or Open Table.

Anntoinette U.

Yelp
I ordered ginger duck this evening. I specifically asked twice if it was sweet and the person who answered the phone reassured me that it was not. It really scares me for diabetic patients who specifically ask and get the wrong answer! That is so wrong and totally unacceptable. I will not order from them again.

Carolyn G.

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant! White table cloths on tables, excellent service and food make Tely's a nice dinner out. We have always had amazing meals here. From appetizers to desserts, my husband and I recommend a eating dinner here.

Ryan H.

Yelp
The best Chinese Restaurant in town hands down! The food, service and hospitality is beyond expectations. It is a great place for date night with the spouse/significant other. Our constant go to order is the orange beef, Singapore noodles, and Sichuan string beans. If you love Chinese food, you have to try this place. You won't regret it!

Woenita B.

Yelp
My sister and I were in town for a family funeral. We researched Chinese restaurants and read all the reviews, good and bad. I can honestly say that Tely's Restaurant was OUTSTANDING. We had no reservation and showed up when they opened at 4:30p. Mr Tely welcomed us warmly and seated us at an excellent table. The decor was understated and elegant. There was plenty of room between tables and we felt as if we were the only guests there, even though the restaurant was full by the time we were finished 2 hours later. Our server, Joe, could not have been more professional and knowledgeable about the menu selections and any variations we wanted. We were thrilled when he asked if we wanted a leisurely-paced dining experience. Every course, including wine, arrived in a timely, unhurried pace and we never felt rushed. The food was sumptuous, delicious and beautifully presented. Joe checked on us often and we never had to ask for anything. It was as if he could read our minds and anticipate what we might need next. Thank you again, Mr. Tely and Joe for one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.

Leslea B.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to sit and relax at a Telys! Upscale Chinese food, Scallops are my favorite, and amazing duck! If you have a discerning pallet, GO!!!! Absolutely delicious!

Mary S.

Yelp
SO fresh and delicious!!! We enjoyed it all! I highly recommend From appetizers to the entrees it's all divine

Michael D.

Yelp
Great food and service! In my humble opinion Tely's is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Brevard county. It is authentic Northern Chinese cuisine. There are several items on their menu that are the best I've ever had - and I have eaten in Chinese restaurants from San Francisco to New York City and many states in between! Additionally the restaurant is tastefully decorated without all of the "Rick Rack" too many Chinese Restaurants have. Make sure you have reservations. I have always been seated promptly when we make reservations in advance. The times I have been there Tely was there checking on customers satisfaction and warmly greeting patrons. This is beginning to be a lost art.

Tony A.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese/Cantonese restaurants in the area. The service was excellent as was the food. Reservations are usually necessary.

Shiann A.

Yelp
Wow, had reservations and arrived and was seated. The server appeared impatient and rushed taking our order. As we were finishing our meal, the server came over took up the leftovers and began boxing them. One of our guest was still eating. He never asked if we wanted drink refills. My spouse asked for water and he complied. It was getting busy so no big deal. A party of about six came in and Tely greeted them. One lady had a dog in her arms and reached her hand to shake Tely hand and he reciprocated and shook her hand. They then were seated and she sat at the table holding the dog and the dog was sniffing the table. Tely proceeded to greet people and assisted in clearing and setting up tables. I will not be returning because the restaurant should not have dogs at tables, and he shaking the dog handlers hand and not washing his hands. Again the dog should not be allowed to be near the table setting, and he should not be shaking hands with someone holding dogs. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Michael S.

Yelp
It has been a while since I last dined here, but I am happy to say it is still GREAT. I stuck to my favorites on the menu. I first asked about the POP ribs, but they did not have any left. So I went with another great choice, the Honey Roast Pork ($7). TENDER and SWEET strips of pork in honey. Think of a scrumptious Chinese take on the American Honey Baked Ham. I also chose the Pumpkin Soup ($4.50). Chunks of tender orange pumpkin in a chicken broth. Sounds strange, but it is VERY GOOD. For my entree I went with an old favorite, Singapore Rice Noodles ($15). Rice Noodles in a curry sauce (medium spice is hot enough for me) with Shrimps and peppers. It was DELICIOUS and I had some leftover to take home. Total after tax was $28.25. It was a GRAND FEAST. Service was IMPECCABLE. Ambiance is ELEGANT. I will be sure not to wait so long to return.

David G.

Yelp
Awesome food and excellent service. Will vist again. The owner is very friendly and took time to stop by and chat.

Bill H.

Yelp
Highly Recommend Tely's - Mr Tely was the original owner of Yen Yen Restaurant in downtown Cocoa Beach. We love this place!

Scott C.

Yelp
If I could give the food a negative 5 stars I absolutely would and I'd give the waiter who seemed to think my name was "Bubba" less than that. As a former restaurant owner, if I had someone receive their food and between my wife and I eating 5 bites, I might have shown an interest in why the guest seemed less than thrilled. Well, not Tely's where they seem to feel if you don't have a reservation, you probably shouldn't grace their doorway. Luckily I wasn't the one on that end of the evening. I could write a book on why white rice, boiled "meat" and some fried egg is NOT the recipe for fried rice but this feels like a layup after you eat there. If bland is you definition of great food, please stop in and enjoy and see if Captain Bubba has my tip and would like to return it. Absolute garbage framed as "elegant" Chinese. My guess is the fans would also try and make reservations at...nowhere was as bad as this "restaurant"!!! You've been forewarned!!!

Kurt K.

Yelp
We were looking for pizza and found Chinese food. This gem is tucked at the end of stip mall and near the new Aldi. We had not even ever noticed that it was a restaurant. We were greeted by who turns out to be the owner and we were at the beginning of the dinner hour so we had our pick of socially distanced tables. We felt a little underdressed with the white linen table cloths and real silverware. Our waitress was very attentive and had some good recommendations. We had seafood nest and mandarin chicken. Both freshly made and delish that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also had a spring roll and an egg roll. Very large....we split the two of them...very good also. Check out the photos....from this visit and the next.

Yelp
I have done takeout from Tely's many times. Today I wanted to eat in house with a my family for my anniversary. We arrived and the restaurant was half empty and I was told they could not take us??? This was 4:50pm. The old guy, who I think is the owner told me to go to Red Ginger??? As someone who has worked in restaurants many years ago, what waiter or busy does not want a large table ready to go? Especially when half your tables are empty. Blows my mind. But no worries. I will use Red Ginger only from now on. Tely's is tasty but truth be told they are stingy with the portion to the price ratio and charging for chop sticks and mustard etc when doing take out. Last time I ordered when had just enough for 3 people and it was close to $90. When it comes to rice and noodles let's not act like they have high margins. This time he made me feel unwelcome and I'm going to always remember that.

Ken C.

Yelp
Clean and fresh dining with tables clothes and silver ware. This is a real Chinese restaurant and not a go go food mart. Many choices and very tasty.

Honore F.

Yelp
Immaculate, white table cloths, amazing waiters and a hand on owner! What more could you ask for? Oh yes, the food! Some of the best Mandarin cuisine we have had in a long time!! Their XO sauce is amazing!!!!!! Everything we have ordered is fresh and delicious. Reservations a must! If you like Asian fine dining this is your place.

Laura C.

Yelp
Best in every way food, service and clean!! We love Tely's! My favorite is the salt and pepper shrimp!

Constant M.

Yelp
As an immigrant born and grew up in Hong Kong, Americans of all ethnicities have always asked me where can I find authentic Chinese food. I have always been hesitant to recommended one because 99% of the self-proclaimed 'real' Chinese restaurants are run by (in my opinion) ordinary Chinese who just know how to cook. I like to believe in my taste buds that this restaurant is run by a real Chinese chef. It's hard for a real Cantonese to have dinner without ordering steamed fish. My favorite is steamed snapper because both my grandparents always spoiled us with it growing up. It is considered a true Cantonese delicacy. Tely's made it almost to perfection. The fish was fresh, and just the right amount of Garnish like the ginger, Green onion, and the right mix of sweet soy sauce. One minor recommendation is to go in early enough so that they don't need to low key rush the steaming, because the fish meat was low key stuck on the bone. But overall it was excellent. The eggplant clay pot was also on spot, most importantly it was 'hot and steamy' when served. Lastly, we had the fried pumpkin sticks. It wasn't necessarily the most authentic Cantonese dish but it was very good to get our appetite up. Edit: Customer service was also good. The waitress checked on us multiple times and the owner also stopped by and was happy that someone 'finally' ordered their famous Cantonese steamed fish. Will definitely come back and try something else truly authentic Chinese. If you want to hear a honest opinion from a real Chinese, here you go!

Yelp
Welcome to one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to and it's in Melbourne, FL. Yeah I said Melbourne, FL, I came to visit family and was skeptical about this place called Tely's but they swore to me it was good. And oh man is it good it's great!! I tried the Ma po tofu, general Tso shrimp and chicken & broccoli. All of it was so good I am considering ordering more today so I can eat it again and take the photos they deserve. They have take out and delivery, you can eat inside, unfortunately no out door seating. If you're in the area and are looking for some killer Chinese food, go support Telys and grab a well priced, well prepared delicious meal! Food 5 stars Service 5 stars Overall 5 stars!!

Firstname L.

Yelp
Tried Tely's a couple more times. Still the same horrible oily and sugary food. Go at your own risk. We tried addressing these issues with staff but when we went back a few months later, seems that nothing has changed. Pictures is the chicken with "white garlic sauce." The only reason such places exist is the lack of competition in this area. While I think the owner is charming and hard-working, unfortunately the kitchen is still terrible.

Gold S.

Yelp
Excellent service and good. Owner was very attentive to the tables. We tried most of the appetizers and it was great.

Chloe' O.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in town! The quality of taste is very good. We usually order online and pick up.

Long N.

Yelp
Tely's Chinese restaurant was a nice find. It harken back to the Chinese Restaurants I use to go to back in the late 90s. The tables had linen cloth and the service was very attentive. The owner was friendly when he greeted us. The food was tasty and the price was reasonable. We enjoyed the duck and their salt pepper offerings. The beef was soft and the bok choy was tender and crispy. What was truly amazing was that we were not charged for rice which perplexed us when we see this at other places. Will come back when we are in town.

Eunhee K.

Yelp
The price is very expensive compared to the food. But service from the waiter is very good.

J G.

Yelp
Telly's is great ! Both the food and service, if you were a fan of YenYen in Cocoa Beach like I was for years you will be happy to have found Tely at this Location !

Kristyn N.

Yelp
The Chinese food at Tely's is fresh and made to order. The service was good and friendly with great recommendations. The atmosphere is clean and simple. Reservations are recommended as they fill up fast and the wait becomes long.

Nick B.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Great chef. Great history. You won't be disappointed by the food. Make sure to try the desserts.

Lisa M.

Yelp
First time diners! Paul and staff were excellent! Everything was delicious!! Now one of favorites!

Darcia L.

Yelp
We are new to the area and were looking for carry out. Tely's came up on Yelp as near by, and only half hour till closing. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice a restaurant it is ! I asked for recommendations on the menu and tried three things. Not just typical Chinese food - almost a cross between Chinese and Indian. We were very impressed and will definitely go back again !

Yvonne C.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! The atmosphere is so nice, tables a good distance apart, nice music and nice decorations. The owner came by to welcome us and helped us pick our food selections. The spring roll was excellent. The seafood fried rice had a really good amount of lobster, shrimp, scallop and calamari. It tasted delicious. We will definitely return!

Nicolas T.

Yelp
Their chicken entrees are still pretty good, but for some reason the beef dishes now always come out very tough and chewy. Also, the fried rice here looks and tastes nearly identical to white rice except for the fact that it costs 15 dollars. Not sure what that's all about. I was a big fan of Yen Yen back in the day. That location had character and killer food. I was even a big fan of Telly's when it first opened. Now I can't help but think much of that magic has been lost.

Love this place. The food is the best Chinese around and they are always very friendly with excellent service. The Snow White Prawns are a favorite and are incredible.
