Want to add some colour to your reusable mask game? Nab a pair of navy, denim or peach ones until 2 October - SilverKris

"During the second distribution exercise that started on 21 September, this site functioned as another designated pickup point for limited-edition reusable masks dispensed via vending machines. Free white masks (adult or kids) could be collected with a government-issued ID, while pre-ordered coloured masks required presenting the redemption QR code at collection. Exclusive colour options were sold only at select venues and cost S$8 for a navy pair (adult size only) and S$10 for denim, peach and black pairs (available in adult and kids sizes); extra pre-ordered white pairs were S$8 each. Pre-orders were open from 13 September to 2 October and vending-machine collection ran until 4 October; note that the machines do not sell masks directly. The masks are reusable, antimicrobial, washable up to 30 cycles, and shown to be 94% effective against Influenza A." - SilverKris

Temasek Shophouse is an absolute gem in the heart of town. The beautifully restored heritage building strikes the perfect balance between history and modernity, making it not just visually stunning but also an inspiring space to spend time in. Inside, the atmosphere is calm, spacious, and thoughtfully designed — a true sanctuary amidst the city bustle. What really stands out is the purpose-driven mission of Temasek Shophouse. It’s not just another lifestyle spot but a hub that brings together sustainability, social good, and community spirit. The exhibitions and events held here are always engaging, meaningful, and eye-opening. It’s rare to find a place where every detail, from the architecture to the programs, reflects such care and vision. The café on-site is also a delight, offering good coffee and bites in a setting that feels both cosy and refined. Whether you’re here for a quick visit, a quiet catch-up, or to attend one of their talks or exhibitions, you’ll leave feeling enriched and inspired. Truly one of Singapore’s best-kept secrets — Temasek Shophouse deserves every bit of praise for being a beautiful space with a beautiful mission.

🟨 Temasek Shophouse 28 Orchard Road, Singapore 238832 ⬛️ Newly reopened on 29th Sept 2025 Monday. 🔴 A bit of background & what’s new ************************************* 🔴 The newly re-opened Temasek Shophouse is part of an expansion: the original 28 Orchard unit now links internally with adjoining units 16, 22, and 38, forming a larger, integrated space of about 6,400 sqm. 🔴 The restoration preserves many heritage architectural features, while adding modern elements = to reinforce its role as a social impact hub. 🔴 The hub is designed to host co-working spaces, event venues, exhibitions, and retail with a social enterprise focus. ______________________________ 🟩 My hubby and I visited Temasek Shophouse to recce the newly reopened building. We were eager to see how the refreshed space balances heritage and modern uses. 🟩 This building houses➡️ offices and also a ➡️ social community hub. 🟩 There is also a small & lush outdoor garden on the 1st level. ____________________________________ 🟧 From the moment we stepped in, we felt a calm contrast to the busy Orchard Road outside. ● The interior decor is warm and thoughtful — a blend of clean, contemporary finishes and heritage touches like restored mouldings, exposed beams, and tasteful use of timber and natural light. 🟧 Large windows and high ceilings lend an airy openness, while softer lighting and greenery soften the edges, making it feel inviting. 🟧 On the ground floor, the cafes such as Bibik Violet (all-day dining) and Foreword Coffee anchor the social heart of the space. 🟧The cafes spill into communal zones, encouraging lingering, conversations, and casual co-working. ⬛️ There are art installations & corridor exhibits linking the four connected shophouses, which invite one to wander and pause. 🟧 The ambience overall is relaxed yet purposeful. It manages to feel both creative and grounded.

Chanced upon this place by accident. Interesting place that allows you to sit and chill, get away from the hurried place outside. Loved the quiet setting of the place and the high ceiling, it just relaxes me immediately upon entering the premises. The lighting was pleasant too, not bright flourescents. A knowledgeable security personnel was the first to approach and welcome us, giving us a little background about the place. The staff manning the coffee counter were friendly and chatted with us giving us a history of the coffee we were ordering. I selected a 'Hello Neighbour! blend' for my coffee and a Blueberries cheese muffin to go with it. The coffee was really good but the muffin was too sweet that I just could not finish it. I will definitely return if the opportunity arises.

Need more actions and lack of pulling factor. Only 1 restaurant… rather empty during long weekend-

Watch their IG space for interesting events. Very centrally located, great ID for a comfortable yet professional ambience setting. Seems like it’s open to public with a commercial cafe. Do drop by!
