This exquisite, magical hotel is situated between the town of Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor Wat, near the Botanical Garden. It is beautifully appointed, with a huge lake-like pool, a Cambodian country theme to the lush landscaping (there is a traditional wooden boat you can paddle around the pool!), high end linens and toiletries in the rooms, and a really excellent restaurant with the prettiest and tastiest food I had anywhere in SE Asia. The staff are incredible in every department. I had a series of massages at the spa that did more to correct a problem with my shoulder than years of chiropractic work and even orthopedic surgery have achieved - the therapist intuitively focused on the problem area and worked on it with an expert combination of pressure points and different massage modalities, rather than going through the motions of a perfunctory full body massage. I honestly felt like I was in the hands of a healer whose genuine care was transmitted through her hands. The front desk was wonderfully helpful and accommodating - we arrived late one night with no reservation trying to find an alternative to the rooms I had booked in town (Siem Reap was very loud because unbeknownst to me, the Water Festival was taking place that week). Templation was able to accommodate me and my parents in two beautiful rooms, and upgraded us to a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool for the final two days of our stay. The daily included breakfast is a la carte but unlimited, with both Cambodian and western options, and the hotel made a lovely packed breakfast for us when we left at 4:30 am one day for a sunrise visit to the temples. The housekeepers and groundskeepers maintain the property impeccably, and there are awesome special touches like a small, cozy library of books about Siem Reap, Angkor and Khmer culture, and regional history in multiple languages. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel - honestly, with the Grab app making it so easy to grab a car or Tuktuk anywhere you want to go and the gate of Angkor Wat only 15 minutes away, I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else while visiting this area.
