Very expansive. Buy tickets early so you don't have to wait in line. Also the bronze statue is a replica. The ruins were awesome and you could get close. Parking was interesting to say the least.

First of all, I have to say that it was difficult to find the entrance gate. The gate that appears on the map is for the officers, we went around the back roads and went to the parking area. The parking lot is paid. It has a sunlit dirt parking lot with few trees. You can buy a ticket at the entrance. Those who want it have the opportunity to get an audio guide. They keep IDs for the audio guides. The historical artifacts are magnificent, very well preserved and it is a big area. It takes a long time to tour inside, it is useful to be careful considering the intense summer sun. We used shuttle buses on the way back. Although they are paid, they allowed us to travel half an hour in the heat in 5 minutes and cool down, I recommend it.

In October it is not as crowded. Especially if you get there early. Worth the visit.

Amazingly well preserved temple, much better looking than Acropolis in Greece. It's smaller but kept and restaured really nicely. Well worth the entrance fee about 10 euros.

Beautiful, but..... To the readers who cherish a deep connection with heritage and history, I recently visited Agrigento and found myself awash with a whirlpool of emotions. A city as iconic as Agrigento, steeped in ancient splendor, unfortunately, now bears the weight of neglect. The vibrancy of its illustrious past seems to be overshadowed by the present air of abandonment. It pained me to draw parallels between Agrigento and cities like Calcutta, where an overwhelming sense of decay is palpable. It's distressing to observe how time, unchecked urbanization, and perhaps, lack of proper maintenance have rendered such a monumental city to a state of erosion. For someone like me, who derives spiritual solace from the past, witnessing Agrigento in its current state was like observing a masterpiece slowly losing its colors. I ardently hope for a revival, a resurgence of its former glory. Not just for the city's sake, but for every history and culture enthusiast who seeks profound connections in such historic realms.

The Valley of the Temples is the most important complex of ancient Greek temples outside Greece. Under the rule of the Carthaginians and the Romans, splendid temples sprang up one after another. Because of this, this valley town has also won the reputation of "Valley of Temples". Sicily, as a transportation fortress on the Mediterranean Sea, has always been the focus of political power struggles, with frequent wars, and many temple buildings were damaged to varying degrees during the war. Due to its relatively remote location, the Temple of the Valley has been perfectly preserved, and its integrity even surpasses the ancestor of the ancient Greek complex, the Temple of Athens itself. In the archaeological zone of Agrigento, there are more than 20 relics, but only 7 of them can be identified. The degree of integrity varies.

Immense temple. Sadly none of the pillars are standing but you can still experience the magnitude of it and importance it had at the time.
