"Segesta The ancient archeological site of Segesta was once a major city of Sicily’s original Elymian people, who adopted much of their culture from the Greeks. Among the ruins at Segesta is a wonderfully intact Greek-style temple and an outdoor amphitheater. The marks of Sicily’s long history can be found here in the foundations of later structures, including a Norman fortress, a church and a mosque."

Amazing place. It was quiet but I was early in the season. If you are fit enough I would recommend walking to the temple and not getting the shuttle bus as there are something’s to see on the way up. Including an amazing panoramic loop. Not well kept but worth the 15 detour to see the surrounding area

A really nicely preserved temple, but not as impressive as some others in Sicily. Definitely worth a visit because it is really amazing and in a beautiful area. A short walk from the main entrance, very accessible.

An incredible monument of Greek culture, but even more fascinating is how later cultures layered their own influences over it. It’s worth climbing the second peak to see the remains of the settlement next to the theater. The views are beautiful too. In spring, everything is in bloom.

Really enjoyable little spot. Off the normal paths. Staff very friendly and views are amazing. This is a good spot to wander around and enjoy the views. Read the plaques as tells are great story of the history as well as the story of restoration and preservation. Couple euro for the bus to the top can be worth if you are not up for a good climb. 1.5k up the hill can be daunting.

The entrance fee is not cheap, but the view is priceless. Unfortunately, not all buildings have been preserved. Traces of a fire can be seen. The church holds wonderful memories and has a special energy. We walked up on foot. The transfer is not cheap either. This is a good starting point for beginner hikers. 😛 We really enjoyed the view and the walk. Not even the rain could dampen our good mood. Thank you for the opportunity to see this place!

A must see if you are anywhere near. The temple is colossal, and it is nice that your can wonder inside it unlike at Agrigento. We had planned a very short visit, but there is loads to do here and you could easily spend several hours here. Beside the temple, the is a whole ancient city, with a theatre and forum, and a medieval castle.

Was great idea to come. We had to pay €16 per person to enter there... If you want to have a settle bus then you pay €2 extra. We enjoyed the climb just by foot to the arena, it was exhausting but Def worth it.

We really enjoyed out visit to Segesta…even the long walk up the road to the fantastic theatre. There is a bus, but we needed the exercise. The visitor center has a nice cafe and gift shop.
