This is my second ferris wheel ride in Osaka after the Hep five in Umeda. The entrance area is much easier to find, feel more relaxed and less stressful than Hep Five. And I could say I like Tempozan much more. The scenary is great and the view have great balance between shore and the cities. The duration is also perfect. Not too long and not too short, it end exactly when I want it to end. The ticket price is okay I think it's a good way to pass time if you're waiting for your entry to the Kaiyukan Aquarium or Santa Maria cruise as these three location is very close to each other.

Google
I personally think the Tempozan Ferris Wheel is a great place for couples to experience together! 🎡 The adult ticket costs only 900 yen, which is quite affordable, and one full rotation takes about 15 minutes. I recommend going around 4 p.m. or closer to sunset — if the weather is good, you might get to see a beautiful sunset! Inside the cabin, you’ll have your own private space, so you can even play some music to set the perfect mood. It’s especially nice to visit after exploring the aquarium — just time it right and enjoy the ride!

Google
Really enjoyed this little excursion. Used the Osaka Amazing Pass as tickets , queue was empty, chose the transparent carriage. The whole thing took 15mins and it was nice to see the shine. Can also see universal studios in the distance. Highly recommend it

Google
Ok so I did go on an afternoon in the summer holidays in August so the queue was about 40 mins but I didn’t have to book ahead. The ride is incredible, weirdly thrilling because of the rocking of the gondolas as you go up. Whole ride is about 30 mins to go all the way round which I think is great value, and inside the gondolas they have little maps in each direction to point out the sights etc Honestly really fun, and right next to the an aquarium. I went on a whim because the aquarium tickets were sold out for the day and it really turned my day around. Thank you Tempozan Ferris Wheel, you really turned my frown upside down.

Google
JY900 per adult. We waited about 20min for a glass bottomed gondola. It was not busy if you just wanted an ordinary one. You could walk straight on. The ride takes around 15min and you do one rotation of the wheel. The views of Osaka are amazing and well worth the ride. Staff were very friendly. It's next to a good shopping centre as well.

Google
Ticket prices for adult 900¥ the ride takes around 15 minutes and you do one rotation of the wheel. The view of Osaka is amazing. There was no queue when we get there buy a ticket. I guess coming in the evening or night time would be better. Worth the ride

The Ferris wheel ride was a truly enjoyable experience and one of the highlights of our visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the short line—it moved quickly, and we barely had to wait at all before boarding, which made the experience even more convenient and stress-free. While the gondolas themselves show some signs of age and could benefit from a bit of refurbishment, they were still clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant ride. Once at the top, the panoramic views were absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the cityscape from such a height offered a unique and memorable perspective that made the ride well worth it. In terms of cost, the ticket price was very reasonable for what the experience offered. Overall, it was a great value and a wonderful way to spend a few relaxing moments enjoying the scenery from above.

Google
I highly recommend taking a ride on the Tempozan Ferris Wheel if you are visiting the area! I booked a ticket in advance through KKday, and I recommend that as you can walk straight through to the entrance. It was inexpensive enough that I rode it twice, once for the sunset view and another at night to see the city lights. It was well worth it, and it’s a nice little way to rest a bit after walking a lot. The full ride is about 15 minutes, and it’s even air conditioned inside each gondola. I took the transparent gondola once and the regular once. If the wait is 10 minutes or less I recommend choosing the transparent for a slightly more open view, but I don’t think it’s worth waiting in line too long. The regular one has just as nice of a view and you can get on right away. The ride is nice and relaxing and there is plenty of time to get pictures from all sides. This was a highlight on my afternoon trip to the aquarium and I definitely recommend trying the Ferris wheel!

Yelp
Beautiful Giant Ferris Wheel that was next to our cruise ship. So nice to see it during the day and then lit up at night. Apparently the lights provide a weather forecast for the following day. When the Tempozan Ferris Wheel was first opened in 1997, it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world with a diameter of 100 meters (330 feet) and a height of 112.5 meters (369 feet). It was surpassed two years later by the Sky Dream in Fukuoka, Japan. The Japanese must love Ferris Wheels as several of the tallest in the world are in Japan. We ran out of time to take the ride as we spent our two days in Kyoto and Nara, but it was a lovely landmark to see near the port of Osaka.

Yelp
This is an amazing tourist spot in Osaka. It's located in Tempozan that has several other activities. We had bought the tickets online, so we went straight to third floor. The entrance had a shorter wait time for regular gondolas but it was about 15 minutes wait time for transparent see thru ones, because there was only 8 of them. The hop on/hop-off process was very easy. Multiple staff members were assisting customers to ensure safety, and cleanliness of the store. The rotates slowly, ample enough time to enjoy the Osaka skyline. Since there were no tall buildings were, there was clear view of the city in all direction, including Tampozan bridge. The ride was about 15 minutes long. After finishing the ride, we took the time to explore the Tampozan village shops.

Yelp
The Ferris wheel is located by a harbor. You can see city view of Osaka and the river view. We went around 5/530pm to catch sunset view. You can choose regular gondola or fully transparent one. They will inform you the wait time. We waited about 15-20mins for the glass view one and it was definitely worth it. The ride itself is about 20mins. All are air conditioned. Very clean. The view is amazing and you will have enough time to take pictures videos switch seats within the ride. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped everyone get in and out, load/unload strollers. There's a market place next to the Ferris wheel. Remember to stop by and check the stores and food.

Yelp
Was in the area for the aquarium and this was an additional surprise to see this Ferris wheel. Pretty easy to buy tickets as it's very close to the aquarium. The see through car is ok. Either one is cool. The ride is smooth and the views are very cool. Would recommend

Yelp
A beautiful Ferris wheel that gives stunning views of the city that is right next to the aquarium. The ride is only one rotation so a little short, but still worth it!
google avatar

Maile C.

Yelp
Purchase ferris wheel tickets outside on second floor of mall area. You are able to choose clear or colored seats. The ride is about 15 min, beautiful view of the harbor. Great activity.

Yelp
Located at the top of the Tempozan Marketplace, the same complex housing the purported world's largest aquarium as well as the Santa Maria boat ferry, this giant Ferris wheel use to be the tallest Ferris wheel in the world when it premiered during its inception in 1997. This 369ft tall Ferris wheel offers an amazing view of Osaka Bay and surrounding areas. The fare is ¥800 pp (age 3 and up), and included if you purchased the Osaka Amazing Pass. You're offered a choice of two lines to wait in. One is for the regular carriages, while the other is for the transparent carriage that has see through floors. The wait for the transparent carriages is substantially longer, as there are apparently only 9 carriages that are transparent. And we didn't feel there would be a significant difference in experience, so we opted for the regular one. The Ferris wheel itself does not ever stop, so you'll have to hop on and off while it's still moving (albeit very slowly). So this would probably not be a good ride for the mobility challenged. The ride itself takes about 15-20mins for a full rotation, and the carriages inside are thankfully air-conditioned. Which was a VERY welcome relief from the hot and humid weather outside. They do not mix groups, so you'll have each carriage all to your own group. This is a pretty fun experience, and one that I would imagine would be even more amazing to view from at night. Definitely not for those that are afraid of heights, but it is a safe experience and accessible to people of all age groups.

Yelp
Beautiful Ferris wheel that is massive with amazing views of Osaka. There are two choices of a clear bottom vs regular gondola. The clear bottom is ever 4-5 gondolas so there is more of a wait but the price is the same. I don't remember the price but it was very reasonable (somewhere like $5-8 USD). There was a small line for the clear bottom gondola which took about a 15 min wait and absolutely no wait for the regular group which the line moves extremely fast. The Ferris Wheel is massive and it's so big that it took about 15-20 mins to make a full revolution however a large tour group came right when we got on so it would stop after every gondola to load a group in. Overall, very fun experience. Don't think it's worth the wait for a clear bottom gondola as it's not THAT clear and kind of scratched up. Also there isn't much to see straight down other than more anxiety.

Yelp
Today was the second time I've been on this Ferris wheel. There's not much to say except it's a large Ferris wheel lol. You get some great views from the top, and it's just something cool to do when you're already in the area visiting the aquarium. On this trip, we rode in the carriage that is completely see-through which made it a bit more interesting. Price is a bit high considering what you're paying for. But I appreciate that both times we came here, there was no wait/delay in getting on.

Yelp
So high up and basically super windy. Have two choices of the gondola, standard or see through. Chose the see through one and didn't realize where your feet is grounded you can see below. I did not budge at all. Bae was heavier so he sat alone but he scared me so I started feeling out. He kept moving over to one side to take photos here and there. Then our son was afraid to move but he wanted to shake it. lol. Spectacular views of Tokyo. Takes about 15 minutes or less to go around. I appreciate all of its surrounding. A beautiful city. Thank you for the memories.

Yelp
Frankly, when I asked my 7 year old twins if they wanted to go up in this towering Ferris wheel, I expected a resounding NOOOOO!!! Needless to say, that didn't happen and up we went. The fare is ¥8000 for EVERYONE, regardless of age (if you're over 3 that is). Wow!!! Minus one star. Pleasant staff. There are two (2) lines: one for the see-through bottom cars and another for the "regular"cars. Guess which line is shorter? You got it. I headed straight for the solid bottom car line - actually, there was no line, we walked right up to the car. Besides not having to wait, why the hell would you want to look down to see the earth 10 stories below your feet? That's crazy talk. Fun fact: They don't stop the cars for you to get on and off - as you'd think they'd do. You have to hop on and off quickly as the car moves by. It was fun. It was expensive. And it was memorable. Enough said

Yelp
Cool stuff! I think this is the biggest ferris wheel we've ever been on. We did not choose the one with the see through floor, my big son would have been freaking out. I think the price for all 5 of us was under 50 yen, so not bad for what it was. The trip around once took about 15-20 minutes. You can see USJ across the way, the roller coasters... it was exciting for us. Being from a small island, there's nothing like it for us to enjoy. We already had plans to spend some time at the Aquarium so we hopped on this beforehand. There's a Lawson right below, but just remember that there's not supposed to be any eating or drinking on the ride. Before we got on the wheel we took a cute family picture. Nothing special, but for us it was a great momento!

Yelp
Giant Ferris wheel ride is a must to take in the views of Osaka. Don't worry... it's air conditioned inside. There are 8 carts that has glass bottoms for those thrill seekers.

Yelp
First off, if you're standing there deciding if you want to get on the Ferris Wheel and you see these mediocre reviews, you need to experience it for yourself. Go get the combo ticket with the aquarium and you'll end up saving a dollar! I really wanted to see the aquarium, so that's why I decided to opt for the wheel too since it was RIGHT THERE. It looks from the pictures that it would be beautiful at night time, but I got the mid afternoon on a cloudy day which was good enough for me! There's two lines, one for the see through car and the other for the not. If you're not afraid of heights and long lines, go ahead and wait. If you're like me, yeaaaah no thanks. We got in line and basically were next to sit in. What I do like about this ferris wheel is that ITS SO SLOW AND SO SMOOTH. You literally don't feel it moving, but you are above the world. My heart didn't jump out of my skin when we reached the top because it was such smooth sailing. The entire trip around took about 15 minutes and it was a crystal clear view of the Osaka Bay and surrounding skyline. There's a speaker inside the gondola that gives you some background and history of the area and what you see around you. You can see all the bridges that come and go through the city and it was pretty spectacular to look at. I wouldn't say come JUST for the ferris wheel, but if you're in the area, it's got a good view from high above. Clean inside, no seat belts, but lots of room. Super comfortable even for larger groups.

Yelp
One of the exciting moments you should enjoy in the bay area, and it's worth the time to wait a bit long to board the all look through cart, as long as you are not fear of heights, it's fun to look down over the clear bottom once you get to the highest point.

Yelp
Short: Get the combo ticket with the Aquarium, worth it! The ferris wheel alone is fun but I feel the combo is what made me purchase the ticket. Ferris wheel is smooth, but be careful when its windy, shakes a lot and a little scary. Its gigantic and has some great views, I believe you can see Universal Studios from there but it was night when we rode, so couldn't get a good view of it. Long: We honestly came here for the aquarium, but found the combo which included the ferris wheel, which probably only save about 100 yen. But since we were on the fence about riding the ferris wheel, this pushed us enough to purchase the tickets. Far away the ferris wheel doesn't look that bad. Once you walk closer, it gets much more intimidating with how gigantic it is. They have carts with see through floors. This of course was the longer line to get on. We decided to ride the normal carts. The line for this was barely 5 minutes. Jumping onto the carts was fun, it doesn't stop. It continuously move, so you have to hurry up and hop into the cart so you don't miss it. While on the cart, it was smooth until we got higher up. The weather was slightly rainy, so the winds was strong. It was slightly scary while swinging back and forth from high heights. We rode during the night, so the views were nice but couldn't get an idea of where everything was. The ride total was about 15 mins. It honestly felt shorter and was a fun experience. I recommend while in Japan going on at least one ferris wheel. Japan seems to love its ferris wheels. If you're going to do it, might was well combine the tickets with the aquarium. Honestly, this one is probably the one with one of the better views.

Yelp
I went during the day and rode the transparent cart. I didn't realize I was scared of heights until I reached the top. All jokes aside, great views, but I think it'll be even more beautiful at nighttime!
google avatar

Billy S.

Yelp
Super big Ferris Wheel I was super excited to take the ride with Kathleen! Best to go sunset for instagram pictures
google avatar

Sam W.

Yelp
The views are amazing from the ferris wheel. They have an all transparent cart (with the floors too) and a regular cart. The line for the transparent cart was a lot longer than the regular one and I feel like they would have offered the same thing. All in all this is a fun break from walking to take pictures and look at the city of Osaka, especially since they have AC inside the carts.
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
Pretty cool, you don't share the cart with other groups, there's also an option of regular of see through glass bottom but that's longer wait.
google avatar

Robin L.

Yelp
One of the largest ferries wheels. Once you get off the train station, you can see it from the distance. March 2017 price was ¥800. Afraid of heights there are others things to do around tempozan
google avatar

Jay Y.

Yelp
Ferris wheels aren't usually my thing, but I simply cannot resist going on this super tall one especially because I had the Osaka Amazing Pass for free admission! Even without the free admission though, I still recommend this cool Ferris wheel that gives you an awesome view of the Osaka Bay and the city skyline. If you are daring (and have time to wait), go to one of the completely transparent gondolas! The transparent ones do not incur extra charge, but because there are only four of them, the wait can be ridiculous. The normal one is good enough if you simply don't have time!
google avatar

Rob A.

Yelp
Great value for an activity with the kids. However, Osaka doesn't offer much of a skyline. Definitely something to do while in the area.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
This is a ferris wheel, so you pretty know what to expect. One thing that's unique about this ferris wheel is that it's HUGE. You can see this thing from a mile away and use it as a landmark. When you actually arrive here and look up at the ferris wheel, the thing is humongous. When you board the ferris wheel, the speed of the rotation is slow so you get ample time to enjoy the view. At the peak, you get a nice overlook over the ocean and the city. I believe this is claimed to be the largest ferris wheel in the world, but I did not follow up on the authenticity of the claim; it was definitely huge though.

Kiki C.

Yelp
Awesome but scary! Spectacular views of Osaka but don't bother if you're afraid of heights. This thing is enormous.
google avatar

Sarath P.

Yelp
Definitely get a combo ticket for the ferris wheel and the aquarium if you're visiting that area. The ride was lovely and showed a great view of Osaka! We were there pretty early so there wasn't a line but you can take the option of going on one of the see-through cars if you wait a bit. The see-through car was pretty cool but there was a film at the bottom so you really couldn't see through it. So if there's a long line -- I don't think the see through car is worth the wait.
google avatar

Lauren V.

Yelp
It was a fun way to spend a night in Osaka after we'd spent the day in the Aquarium. There is a discount if you buy tickets for both at the same time. Good view and you get a whole car to yourself. Very romantic and there were lots of locals on dates. Very sweet.
